I'm in Kansas. Had the same thought.
Yes! Just like I remembered!!! Everyone's making videos and there's so much smoke and mirrors they leave out simple details. Had me thinking I forgot how to cook rice 😊😂This is straight to the point
Boy this rice turned out so good I had to leave a comment! Thank You!
i love how he just gets to the point how to make it unlike other videos they keep on talking and it takes them like 10 minutes to get to they point why we clicked on the video but this one he just gets right into it.
amazing. straight to the point and no add unwanted info! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Everybody and their brother knows you're supposed to rinse the starch off of the rice
Im in my 20 and I can cook anything else but rice 😂😂😂
My rice got bubbly and spewed out the lid I assume I didn’t put the temp low enough?
You may have put too much rice brother 😂 I think I’m about to have the same issue
Loll 😂
I thought we had to wash the rice first am I wrong
I just boiled the rice 💀
Kitchenware:
- measuring Cup
- Teaspoon
- Wooden Spoon
0:00 Step 1: Get a 3 Quart Size Pan
0:04 Step 2: Add 2 Cups of water, and boil on HIGH Heat
0:08 Step 3 Once Boiling add 1/2 teaspoon of salt AND add 1 Cup of Long Grain White Rice
NO NEED TO RINSE RICE
0:20 Step 4: Once the rice starts to boil again. First Stir, next cover with a lid and finally turn heat down to low for 17 minutes. DO NOT REMOVE LID
0:36 Step 5: Check on rice to see if tender and water is dried. If so remove than pot and let it rest with LID ON
0:47 Step 6: After letting rice “rest” for a couple min, remove the rice and fluff it around. Rice should be ready to eat
Tysm for this. Was just looking for a comment with the instructions. Really didn't want to rewatch the video every time I got to the next step lmao
You taught me how to make rice. Thank you.
Wash the rice first tho
Naw I’m good lol
Can we just appreciate all the effort Casual Cooking puts into his videos? 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You didn't clean the rice!

*Wal-Mart 🛒, great value shopping.*
This was super helpful, thank you!!!
As a man who's cooked for himself his whole life, I appreciate the clean simple reminder. Thank you
I gave you a like because you got straight to the point. Easy, clear, and concise.
That said, I always rinse my rice first !
I'm 13 years old and I just made the best rice, my mom couldn't believe
Keep up the good work, I was only able to make like, french toast at 13 lol
I made this with my dad one day, and oh my word, it was amazing, so now I'm making it rn for me and my brother. y'all need to try this
First time cooking and came out perfect. Thank you!
Straight to the point. Clear instructions. Quality video 👍🏽.
I’m in my sixties and this was the easiest way I’ve ever cooked rice. In addition, I did not clean my as per directions. Thanks!!!
Sweet, remeber mate, eat healthy and try to work out, if you're not able to workout then a one hour of walking daily would be great
I’m Hispanic I’m cooking white people rise for the first time I usually make brown Mexican rice first I fry and then add water and add tomato sauce almost about same thing
Short and to the point. 👍🏾
Not washing your rice is insane
literally so perfect 🙏🏾🙏🏾
hi I’m currently trying to make rice for when my mom gets home from work because I was supposed to go help her at work but I told her I was just going to go with my friends for a bit from 1:30 til like 2:30 max but I didn’t get home til 6:15. when I got home I cleaned the entire house, put the dishes away, put away my clean clothes. And now I’m making rice because I already know she will complain about how hungry she is… so I HOPE THIS GOES WELL AND HOPEFULLY SHE WONT BE THAT MAD AT ME…
I tried it and found it was simple. Thank you sir
short and sweet and to the point
Well this looks pretty easy.......I take it not removing the lid is the secret sauce.
I'm in the process of working my way up to cooking some Chinese stir-fry dishes, with tenderized beef from scratch.
TH-cam makes it all possible!
Its definitely better to rinse your rice before cooking, it removes excess starch and unwanted flavor. Been cooking perfect rice for 25 years
And to think making white rice was simple. I put rinsed rice in water with salt, then put it on the stove. Going to cover it once it boils. I hope it comes out ok. lol 🤣
I can cook everything except rice... My rice tastes horrible but I'm watching the video trying to get better.. most people won't admit what they can't cook 🍚...
The recipe came out great but how should I change the cook time and the water/salt amount if I were to double the recipe. (Doubling/tripling the recipe would be more efficient for me because I meal prep and 1 cup of rice only is enough for two meals for me)
That's why my cooking experiment failed. I tried to cook the rice the same way I cook pasta, knowing damn well that rice is not pasta and does not behave the same way as pasta. It behaves more like the couscous I cooked on the stove earlier.
Thanks lil bro
LMAO
if you dont rinse the starch is still in the RICE, DO IT THE SAME WAY BUT RIINSE FIRST.
I finally learned how to cook, just for myself. But I still have a problem with potatoes. 🥔
Be careful using metal when you stir your rice in that style container. I prefer bamboo or wood myself.
I purchased the exact Walmart brand long grain rice as this video and sure enough that's what the guy is making here, perfect
I love how i just realized my parents failed me.
I did everything step for step but my rice still finished a bit mushy, what am I doing wrong?
I'm not a guy who is usually incapable of things. I'm usually very good at learning, and I'm very curious.
So WHY am I terrified of cooking? I'll never know. But I feel pretty incapable since I'm over here trying to figure out how to cook rice, one of the most basic things ever, and I STILL MESSED IT UP THE FIRST TIME which is why I'm here...
Ugh. How incompetent.
Thanks for the video ❤
just made that ..........excellent!! ................muchas gracias
This is way beyond my cooking expertise, I’ll leave it to the experts.
I finally decided I was going to meal prep and I realized I didn’t know how to make rice at 19😂
Liking this video based off one minute detail that I’m SURE is the reason my rice never cooked:
He said turn it low then SPECIFIED for the literal and overthinkers that this would be just enough to “lightly simmer”.
I’ve been turning my rice down to the lowest setting then wondering why it doesn’t cook 🤦🏽♀️🤣
I half realized this, while watching my rice cooker go to work (it steams the rice at a definite simmer for about 14 minutes).
Great video 👍🏾
Going to uni soon and searched this up because I'm clueless when it comes to cooking D:
What do I do when the heat is as low as it goes but it’s bubbling so much that it’s overflowing through the lid
Am i the only one having trouble with it? Cause the water keeps flowing out when the lid is on ?
Why does my water keep rising up even at low heat? I have to remove the lid or it starts spilling
I gave you a like cus it was quick to the point. No bs. I never like videos so you did good
My lid was still foggy after simmering so i cudnt see throo it like yours. Not sure why
I followed all these steps to a T but there was still quite a bit of water after 22 minutes - I kept it on a low boil all the time with the lid on. My past experiences have told me 17 is a VERY low number so you might want to crank that up to 25+.
Did it just like this step by step. I think to salty. Came out good on the texture though
Great instructions, thanks. I didn't even add salt, and I needed a little longer but I might have put a bit extra water in, but it was delicious, fluffy rice! I want to cook in the stainless steel pot rather than in the nasty non-stick surface of a rice cooker.
You didn’t rinse the rice .. cut the video 😢
