Wish i had a blazer. Let put more out there my father used to own a k5 but he sold to my uncle which he won’t sell back to me so i think it’s great that you and your son can do something like this i know how fun they are but i can’t get the one i want back.
just picked up an 86 knowing almost nothing about what to do. Better shape (from what I can tell) than what you got but I'll be following for sure. Great content.
I've got the same year blazer and the same problems only my rockers and front floors are almost gone. 2x8 holds up my drivers seat lol. I want to rebuild but don't have the garage space. Thanks for sharing I'm going to watch all your videos with this project for sure.
Hindsight being 20/20, it probably would have been easier to replace the rockers along with the floor (or at least the inner rockers). I just got the bed floor panels in, so those will be going in the blazer next! Good luck on your project and thanks for watching!
@@goodenuffcustoms I'm already on the next video! Appreciate you showing the whole process. Made it less intimidating. What size steel do you use for your fab work. I believe my cab mounts are almost gone.
@@BlanchardsBees I have some metal I cut off an old van, not sure of the gauge. The rest of the metal is either patch panels of leftovers from the patches. All yhe patches came from AMD
I just bought an 80 in the midwest. Whole floorboards rockers bedsides are all toast and needs all new suspenion. I dont know if its a project i can take on at 17. Payed 3400 its got a fresh motor and trans in it with 60k. Runs and drives amazingish. Think im in over my head. Mabye theese videos will help me find otherwise
Any tips for welding? Have done mig with thicker metal but never sheet. Was going to put my lift in but my winshield is leaking. Another problem everyday but it wont discourage me@goodenuffcustoms
I may not be the best person to give welding advice, but watch your heat and move around on the thinner metal so it doesn’t warp. Get some scrap metal about the same thickness and practice on it to get the settings right on the welder
This is the 1st time doing floor pans myself. It's a little overwhelming but not too bad once you get into it. I'm trying to approach it like eating an elephant, one bite at a time. Good luck on yours!
It's a sapphire blue, but I'm not sure if it's medium or dark. I'd have to go get the SPID number off the glove box to know for sure. Here's a link to the paint colors from 1989... www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/colour_swatch_gm_1989A
It's a rigid 20v brushless grinder. It does ok, but the design of it makes it tough getting into tight areas. It works pretty good for small cuts or when you dont need the higher rpm of the regular angle grinder.
Thanks for the info. Now I know what I'll be getting into with my 81 k5, you make it look easy, keep up the good work! I'll be watching 👀 😎
Thanks! But just wait, it gets better and then worse. Good luck on your K5!
Fun fun that is what i will be doing soon . Just bought for a project , thanks for the video
Thanks for watching and good luck!

They are a lot of fun! Maybe one day you'll be able to find one!
Watching these new videos got me second guessing restoring my 1990k5 I know it got the same if not more rust ,
It's not too bad, just a little overwhelming. The key is to really take your time. I created some of my own misery on this one! Good luck!
Great video - thank you - looking forward to see how it progresses.
Thanks!
Inspired me to pick one up Matt for my channel. I’ll be following this build and looking to it for help if need be!
Heck yeah! That's awesome!

Love this Blazer! I have a rusty one of my own to work on, too!
Right on!🤘
going to a sweet rig for the kid. I'm bringing home a '73 K5 next month and will be following along your build too. keep at it!
Good luck!
Happy Anniversary!! Did this get finished? 🤔 😜
Funny guy!
Awesome job guys. Have an 84 with rotted rocker panel same as everyone else. Keep chuggin👍
Thanks, will do!

Good luck! Take your time and remember it’s just metal! Fitzee’s Fabrications channel is also a great resource for metal working.

At this point, be sure to replace the heater core and rebuild the flappers in the ductwork while you have access to it.
That's not a bad idea
I've had mine for 12 years. I've got to do mine badddd. Never done it before but can't afford to pay someone over 1500 to do it.

I like your videos so
Thanks!
nice. i just got me an 81 myself for $2200 also, pretty straight only some surface rust
Very nice.
What color is that? I have same color but I can’t find the color to repaint it

😁😁😁👍👍👍👍
Glad you are enjoying!
With all do respect, your flag is hung backwards.
I look forward to watching your adventure.
Thanks for the heads up on the flag! I'll get that corrected ASAP!
What is that little Ridgid gender thing that you are using on the driver's side floorboard?
