Hi CagerOnTwoWheels Always a pleasure to watch your videos. I bought my NC700x last year in July and have been enjoying every ride with it. I love the bike so much I took it on a 4600 km, two up, full Givi Pannier set plus a full size ruck sack on a trip from Northampton in the UK to Hungary over the last two weeks... Now I love the bike even more! To you folks thinking of getting either of these bikes, It's a great bike regardless of whether you're new to biking or been at it for years. My bike dealt with the traffic, kept up with other bikers and was miles better on fuel than pretty much all of the other bikes we met on the route. This alone was a continuous talking point of the trip. I don't want to hug this comments piece but wanted to let you all know this bike is much more than just a commuter, it's a fantastic all rounder. Have fun and be safe out there.

Very nice review and great channel overall. I have been watching you for a year, now, and today I subscribed. I have been driving cars for 10 years and now I am willing to get my license this spring and buy a bike. Your reviews have been perfect for me. Thanks!

Yep, have to say, you are one of the best bike reviewers on youtube. My pet hate is blaring music all the way through a video. I'd much rather hear the engine noise and what the rider thinks. Great vid.

Yeah :D I passed my theory test yesterday. Start my lessons on Tuesday. I can't wait. Then I'm gonna save for about 3 months and get a second hand CB600 Hornet. The theory test is a joke, I've done it three times now. Once for my lorry driving test, another for my driving instructor test and this for the motorbike. If I failed it (I did get one question incorrect, the difference between a ring road and a mini roundabout) does that mean the qualifications for the other tests are invalid? It's a stupid money making con for Pearsons and the Government.

Might get one of these next, just got a CB500X as I thought this would be too high for me but I'm the same hight as you. I love the 500X so easy and nimble, lots of fun. I had work done on my last bike, VFR800 at the dealer and they gave me a curtesy bike I think it was one of these. What ever it was it had an automatic gearbox. I was constantly ghosting the clutch lever.

Oh! A great review comparing the older and the new model.
Thank you very much Cager, you just explained how Honda fixed almost every detail that i didn't like on the Original NC700 series.
I would love you to (sometime) test drive some oldies like the Suzuki GS500 and know what you think about her.
I happen to have a GS500 and i'm not sure wich one will be the next lady.
I'm between the NC750S (After your review, more than ever), or a CBF600N.

  • @monck552

Had the 750S version for a year (great bike), just rode the X as a courtesy bike.
If you're thinking of an NC, test ride both.
The S has a slightly firmer ride - less suspension travel so it handles better. It also feels noticeably more planted on the road.

Hey Cager, what helmet/microphone setup are you using. The audio is amazing. Most riding reviews sound like they are coming from the Space Station in a hurricane. Yours is crisp and clean.
And a great review. You do a better job of relaying the details of how the bike feels under you than most professionals. Anyone can rattle off specs but it take a special person to be able to articulate how a bike feels. Have you considered reviewing as a hobby/profession?

  • @ayecapn

Cager, ever consider doing professional reviews? Just saying cause you are articulate, and get your points across quite well. I am in Canada, and your presentations are much clearer than many of our local english speakers.
Also, for a one bike owner, you are very observant to the mechanics of it.
1, Correct for gearing and power. You won't notice the additional power because they widened the gearing to prevent bouncing off the rev limiter. Get more speed per gear.
    2. They did change the fuel injection mapping, and added an O2 sensor to it to further improve how well it runs which is why the better mileage.

Cager, nice review! Once I'm having my motorcycle driving license now, I still have serious doubts on what bike to get as my first bike. Many suggest we should get an old lady which can handle our mistakes without much "pain", but seems to me that no other bike would provide the easy riding, pleasure and cost effectiveness like the NC.
I was quite fun of the NC700x but even for an used motorcycle the cost is still almost of a new. Would a new NC750x be a good option instead - I like the new instrumental panel, the new bench, the better behaviour on low revs, the new colours. But what about the combined ABS? Removing it wasn't a step back in terms of breaking safety? Have you tested the new DCT? I read that the behaviour is improved as well.
    Thanks

I love the sound of the bike .. Definetly a fun bike.. The wide bars give you a lot of leverage.. good stuff, makes transitions fun hehehe.. Some rear packs, and I would love it .. With the increasing the displacement a bit, may have made it the whole package easier to pull/move... With just a few extra hp, It doesn't have to work as hard as the 700..

good news with the new improvements on the new NC750X i wish that gear indicator was standard on the cb500 series too. the sad thing is that the NC is no longer an A2 license bike, which for me was more in within reach to a more lot of people.

I've had a 750S for 18 months, took a CB650F inline four out for a test ride recently. Unlike the NC you have to rev the CB hard to get real power. It can certainly shift but the lower rev range isn't much use.
The very strong, instant torque of the NC makes it a more flexible, practical (and still fun) bike in everyday use.

Hi Cager, once again a great review from you with lots of useful informations on this bike. I have been ridding a Yamaha xmax 400 and it is time to step up. Mostly computing in London but I would also like to do some touring with my partner. Considering this info which bike would you recommend? Yamaha Tracer 700, Kawasaki Versys 650 or Honda XC750 ? If someone else would like to reply to my question please do not hesitate. Many thanks, B

I have a honda integra which i've been riding for 18 months and it has been a truly lovely bike, I'm trading it for a new NC750X in silver on the 1st of march 2014 I'm really looking forward to it. And thank you for your Review it was very helpful.
    Keep up the good work.

david I would like your first-hand opinion because you're switching from Integra to NC750X. I got crazy about Integra and trying to get one, but 2.000€ price difference made me rethink NC750X DCT. I need you riding experience of the two: is there a lot of wind in the body and legs on 750X when compared to Integra? I like long rides and drive year around, and my only concern is that if I get 750X I'll be freezing my butt off. CagerOnTwoWheels need your opinion too, pls compare wind protection on Integra

    • @ridletta9
      @ridletta9 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The Integra is a lovely bike, however, after buying the 750X DCT it feels completely different to ride.it's more powerful. you sit higher in the seat which is extremely comfortable, the bike feels narrower than the integra, has better throttle response, i replaced the small windscreen with a higher one which works well, i've also added heated grips and a centre stand, if it rains you can tuck your thighs under the fake petrol tank, my bike is one year old and I absolutely love it.

Hi! I like your reviews and test drives!
I would like more if you could try to review and test drive a scooter, the honda integra 700. I would like an opinion of a manual gear moto opinion on a scooter 700cc.
I'm no longer a 20 year man (actualy mid thirty), and I do care about things like, low cost maintenance, low cost gas consumption, praticality and confort, and a little of style. I have a 125cc scoter, but in a year or two I will change my mule (if I have the "time " for it)! What do you recomend?

Hello, I was wondering if I installed the IXIL Hyperlow exhaust on a 2014 Honda NC750XA, If I would need to put the motorcycle on a dyno and re-tune the fuel injection. I know usually you need to do so when you change exhaust and put a performance air filter. I just want to make sure if I need to re-tune when only the exhaust is changed or not.
    Thanks guys

Anyway you can do a review on the NC750S DCT? The reason I ask is where I live I have to special order any motorcycle over 250cc's and after vat, import fees... you pay twice the amount the motorcycles cost and still have to wait 4 to 8 months for the bike. So if you could possibly let me know your thoughts on the Honda CT750S DCT it would be very helpful. Thank you.

Oi Cager, tudo bem? I'm a young 42 year old, been riding a Vespa for many years and for the last year a Varadero 125. I really only use my bike for commuting within central London 12 miles a day round trip (but would do more if I had a decent bike I suppose). I' ve decided to get a bigger bike because the 125 is just sooooo frustrating sometimes - noisy, first gear is like reverse etc etc. So: I'm between the NC750X, the MT-07 or the Versys 650. My head says NC, heart says Versys and balls say MT-07 :) What do you recommend?

I'm very interested in this version. Have watched your review of the 700 as well. You talked about the lower center of gravity. I would think that would help taking corners. I'm not a beginner but it just seems like a fun bike to have. Now, does it have heated grips or is that extra? Also, would you tour on this bike cuz that's one reason I would get it for. Hahaha...'is this light ever going to change?' So, you wouldn't have a problem with extreme wind? Geez...that's a great maintenance schedule, too! The engine sounds better. Can you get the standard with ABS or do you have to get the DCT version? Great review...I have a Yamaha FZ6r but I want one of these!

As I know, NC750X has ABS in standard, you can't buy NC750X without ABS. I like NC750X very much, but Yamaha MT-07 will be so much cheaper, I can't understand, why! NC750X (ABS, 40kW) in my country - 6790€. Yamaha MT-07 (ABS, 55kW) - 5690€! I hope that Honda will lower the price according to that. :)

He tried CB500X before and he said that NC is feels a lot more substantial, heavier bike than CB500X is definitely a more agile and maneuverable bike than NC I think CB500 series is far more suitable for beginners (I myself a beginner too) it's cheaper it looks more rugged than NC its maintenance cost are lower than NC and most importantly it's much more affordable at least in my case there's $5000+ gap between CB500X and NC700X. For that gap I can easily get a CRF250L (Dual Sport bike) for some off road action!
Both NC and CB are suitable for beginners but CB is definitely more wallet friendly.
If you got the money then NC is a buy.

Hi, great review. I was wondering. I am 6'4" tall. Do you think this bike would be good for my size? Thank you.

I am 5'10 and I can't flat foot when I try to put my 2 feet on the ground. I can only flat foot when I only have one feet on the ground and the bike is a little bit tipped to the side. Very comfortable position and to finish ever heard of 6FOOT4 Honda? I think he rides a Honda CBR 600RR. I am guessing if he can ride a crotch rocket and be comfortable, you should have no problem with this NC750X :).

hi, how is the DTC on the NC700x and NC750XA? is this like an automated gear box? i saw some reviews where this had some extra buttons on the handles which i can't see on the model you tested ( drive button on the right side and gshift on left) . sorry for the noobish question but i am not clear on whether this is an automatic gb bike or not :(

They offered both DCT and Manual tranny for this NC750X.
Since the redline came up so early (7000 rpm)
Most people would go with DCT to avoid its early shifting annoyances.
I'm thinking about getting one as well being a beginner but it's a hard buy in my country it's a little over 400,000 baht and a beginner friendly CB500X only cost 215,000 baht (Made in Thailand)
I like the looks of NC more but that price gap is such deal breaker.
And to think CB500X is simply an OC500X I don't have worry about early shifting too.
I got nothing against NC except its rather over-exaggerated price.
Too bad this thing looks sweet in yellow or red a 500 it is then...

Just test rode the NC750, the old NC700 and the CB500F.
The NCs have a LOT more torque than the CB.
The 750 is noticeably smoother than its 700 predecessor. It's also higher geared and clearly punchier.
A significant improvement in my view.

I don't understand why don't you mention the fact that this one has a clutch. Is this the model where you can choose between automatic and manual gear switching?

    •  8 ปีที่แล้ว

This one has a clutch, the Honda NC750X DCT is full automatic

I think the nc750x is the automatic one, the nc750 is the geared one which you are riding in the video

The NC gets about the same mileage as the Honda VTR 250 FI which is a twin cylinder engine.
I'd much rather have the NC700 or NC750 that has a lot more torque because on a 250 you really do have to rev the engine quite a bit which can get a little annoying in stop and go traffic.

If it had been kept down to lower than 190kgs (wet) I would have considered it, but it is slightly too heavy. Good review though.

why a city motorcycle? I have a Nc 750x dct and I have often been with it in the Swiss and Austrian Alps with a full top box, side cases and tank bag with various camping items lashed on top.
offroad driving is also no problem if you take it easy!
and yes you can also drive it in the city if you are not adventurous😎

I got the 700x (2013) which basicly just has a bit less hp (48hp) and I drive a lot with it (~100-200km a day). I got mine for 4k (used with 15.000km on it). Got 2 aluminium-sidecases and it's really smooth to drive (even longer distances). The only thing is the seat, but as Cage said in his video, they improved it on the 750x. SO yes, it should fit perfectly for your plans.
