- A slightly higher quality version of The Hunger Music Video we first uploaded way back in 2007. Just to let you know, we shot this using a camera that was an indie filmmaker's darling at the time, even MTV sometimes used this camera (Panasonic DVX100B @ 24 fps) but the problem was it shot in standard definition. And well... standard def never looked good on TH-cam.
Add to that, those people that hated The Hunger and asked us to die and burn in hell for making this will still hate it and think it looks like crap. And to those of you that loved it and appreciated the weirdness and cheesy visual effects, this will add only some minor improvements.
But there are a few minor background scene changes in the early cafe scene when Joshua is singing his death song. See if you can spot the blonde girl behind the bar (no not the first blond waitress breaking up the fight), this is blonde girl #2 - missing in the original - she's seen here drying a cocktail glass next to the death mask. Don't blink - she poofs in a split second. This version even has ending credits left out of the original - wootie woo hoo!
The real fun is still the original version - check out the comments there and all the mud slinging - your sides will hurt from laughing ;)
PS~ His hair is still messed up on purpose (ya, right uh huh) and the Egyptian queen still wears something from the future (a sports bra did you say?) wink

I have no idea how this song feels fast and slow at the same time. It's not even medium it just feels both fast and in slow-mo simultaneously.

So let me get this straight.....This guy hits on a girl then gets transported to ancient Egypt after getting hit by a car, then gets transported to a world of vampires, then he just walks around till the end.....10/10 THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO EVER!!
Well I think the story is that this guy is an ex lover of that girl and they broke up he sees her and tries to get back together, her current boyfriend starts fighting him and then he gets runs over and dies. He is then seen on the river of souls that leads dead to the Egyptian afterlife, the girl becomes Isis, wife of Osiris (god of the afterlife in Egyptian mythology) and leads him to Anubis the Egyptian god of death and mummification to stand trial for his soul. But Anubis sends him away to vampire world for some reason, I guess this signifies remorse about past misdeeds (maybe how he messed up his relationship?) and he is then tormented by the vampires and his regrets and afterwards wanders the world as a spirit unable to find rest.

I think you’re right except one thing: he wasn’t punished or a lost soul because of his regret or sins, but rather because his atrocious rhythm.

@@Soniphex I'd say he's pretty creative. The song transitions are pretty good and overall it's enjoyable and catchy yet campy. The off-time percussion and synth noises cluttering the mix are grating though.

I know that the lyrics and their... presentation... makes an impression. But for me the true audio experience here is the decision to have the entire melody comprised of random electronic noises that occasionally breaks into "Vaguely Implying Egypt." Of course, nothing needs to be said about a video depicting a creep getting isekaied into the Shadow Realm, being yeeted into The Buffy We Have At Home, and returning with magic powers(?) to... continue being a creep.
This is sincerely a masterwork of (unintentional?) comedy and I will remember it for years to come.

I remember watching this shit a decade ago when I was in middle school, and for some reason I woke up with it stuck in my head.
I spent an hour looking for it as "the hunter" and couldn't find it so I figured it vanished from the internet along with the myspace I found it on.
Just out of the shower I thought "man I'm starving" and it dawned on me that it was, in fact, "the hunger".
I'm 25 now. This maybe a shitty song but he did SOMETHING right.

This is literally art in every possible meaning of the world. I love it so much. It gives off such awesome early 2000's vibes. The kind of stuff built a generation of artists and dreamers. Even if it's not true, I feel it's a valid interpretation. Hope I'm not reading too deep into it!
@@AstariaFilms So I've watched it again and played close attention to the credits this time and noticed Cristina is named as "Muse \ Egyptian Queen" and the rival boyfriend as wealthy financier and a whole new level of this video hit me as commentary on the music industry. A musician who has lost his muse, or rather had his muse stolen from him by wealthy financiers (record companies?) who then metaphorically throw him under the bus. The vampires can then represent bloodsucking producers preying on struggling artists. There's a lot packed into this and I'm loving the layers I'm finding here. What I'm really interested in knowing is the significance of the Dark Angel character, who seems to consistently appear in almost all of the scenes.

You know in the movie Kids, when they go into the subway, just before the 'I have no legs' song? There's a scene of an old man playing an accordion and singing, with a lady beside him, super grooving on his old man song skills. There's also a teenage boy doing this weird, sweaty, hippity-hopping dance.... I guess to class it up, or make people feel extra cringe-y so they donate more money? Anyway, the guy "singing" and "acting" in this video looks like a grown up version of that kid, in a really awesome matrix coat. Half of me wants to find this guy and enthusiastically high five him, and the other half wants to tell him it's OK, and hug him while we both sob uncontrollably.
