  • Despite Christian parents making much effort and intentionality in raising their children to follow God, many have experienced the disappointing rebellion of a prodigal child. On today’s edition of Family Talk, the late Ruth Bell Graham explains that she can relate to the anguish parents face, but she also offers hope to mothers and fathers who suffer residual pain. The author of Prodigals and Those Who Love Them, Ruth reveals how Ned and Franklin, her two sons, strayed from the narrow path. Emphasizing the importance of unconditional love, she shares the intriguing story of former slave trader John Newton. Her advice to parents? Remember God’s faithfulness.
About Today's Guest: Ruth Bell Graham
Ruth Bell Graham was a Christian author and the wife of the Rev. Billy Graham. Ruth’s significant role in her husband's world-wide ministry was recognized in 1996 when she and Billy were jointly awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for their evangelism efforts. She is the author of 14 books, including "Prodigals and Those Who Love Them," "Sitting by My Laughing Fire" and "One Wintry Night." She founded the “Ruth and Billy Graham Children's Health Center” in Asheville, North Carolina in 1966, and remained active in that ministry until her death. Ruth entered Heaven knowing that she and Billy raised their five children and many grandchildren to know the Lord.

Thank you Dr. Dobson, so very, very much for sharing this interview; I needed this, more than you know. God used you to help me and I am very grateful. This blessed me, over and over again! You have helped me raise my three grown children via FOTF, your short TV commentaries, and your books, especially, “Bringing up boys”. God has used you once again to help me. Thank you for being an obedient man of God!💙
PS I have prayed and asked that I can meet you one day, my brother in Christ.🙏🏽

Ruth & Billy were such wise parents I love what Ruth said that they would never have sacrificed their children for the sake of Billy's ministry I have known quite a few Ministers to use their children this way portraying them as "perfect Children" which really messed them up!
