The greatest pianists of All Time Are really Artur Rubinstein ( The God) Grigory Sokolov ( The Titan The Giant of The piano) Emil Gilels ( The King) Wilhelm Kempff Radu Lupu Mikhail Pletnev Maurizio Pollini Sviatoslav Richter Vladimir Ashkenazy Alexei Lubimov Stanislav Igolinsky ( better than Lipatti and Hofman) Solomon Cutner Maria Grinberg Natalia Trull Rosa Tamarkina Ekaterina Novitskaya Dimitri Bashkirov Andrei Gavrilov Victor Eresko Lubov Timofeeva
Wow, the singing, the freedom and the sense of structure and balance. What a revelation...it's sad nobody can play like that and be understood in this time
They laugh because it is considered ridiculous. Schubert and Goethe ridiculous?? Goethe was a universal man, a great soul who defended peace and fraternity. A great man. Not ridiculous.
This is a great privilege to listen to this genius.

Hofmann was peerless
Был есть будет Гофман
I love his playing here. You can still hear how sensitive his playing is in this recording. Almost 100 years old now??? That's so hard to believe...
Une technique, maîtrise fabuleuse au service d'une expression torride de la polyphonie. Un pianiste qui ose tout. Du pur génie
Just about 100 years since the recording, and still just as wonderful
Потрясающе!
Awesome!TY gullivior for posting.
As we can see, Hofmann made some changes to Liszt's transcription, and, I think, it became more close to Schubert
Exactly what changes did he make?
Geezus!
I like to close my eyes and pretend this is a lost recording of Liszt himself playing…

Amen.
I have learn it at school. Everybody was laughing :-S People are pigs today. It is not funny.
piano out of tune? different key?
Probably the disc with the recording should be rotated at a different speed. Is the pitch too low or too high?
