    Wow, the singing, the freedom and the sense of structure and balance. What a revelation...it's sad nobody can play like that and be understood in this time

    I love his playing here. You can still hear how sensitive his playing is in this recording. Almost 100 years old now??? That's so hard to believe...

    As we can see, Hofmann made some changes to Liszt's transcription, and, I think, it became more close to Schubert

    They laugh because it is considered ridiculous. Schubert and Goethe ridiculous?? Goethe was a universal man, a great soul who defended peace and fraternity. A great man. Not ridiculous.

      Probably the disc with the recording should be rotated at a different speed. Is the pitch too low or too high?
