    Adding sonos amp next week to my setup
    Right now my sonos arc is plugged into my EARC on the TV. So after the amp is added to the Sonos set up I should use the HDMI coming from the amp to the TVearc …and get rid of the cable going from the Sonos arc to the TV correct? I’m getting the amp in one week, so just use the.. amp HDMI… instead of arc sound bar cable going to TV? Because the sound bar will play once the Sonos amp is added to the specific room where everything else is the soundbar will play just like before when it was connected directly to the tv….correct?

    • @HowToPM

      Sorry I don't understand what you are tring to do. But as long as you connect it to the arc or e arc that's fine.

    Need advice… I just added the Sonos amp to my system, previously I had my Sonos arc sound-bar HDMI into LG 77 C2 arc TV port, after adding the amp, the arc port on the back of the amp can I run the arc cable from the amp to the arc sound bar bypassing the TV?…. when I put an HDMI cable from the amp arc port to the TV arc port …I had echo sounding speakers over each other…. they’re not synced….any thoughts …the amp is driving ….two external Polk audio in ceiling speakers… when I added the amp I set it up as stereo, I can control the in ceiling speakers with the app…. So I’m most concerned about is whether or not I should keep the arc sound bar connected to the TV arc or connect the amp arc port straight to the sound bar bypassing the TV, that’s what I would like to know, any thoughts?

    • @HowToPM

      If I well understood, you are trying to do a 5.1 right?
      In that case keep the hdmi ARC into the sonos Arc.
      Then add the AMP as surround speaker into the Arc room.

    Great video! More descriptive than anything else I found. Thank you. My old system broke and looking to replace it with Sonos. I currently have 8 zones of ceiling speakers that are not Sonos and an older sonos connect that I was using as a source. Would you have a video that could help me choose the Sonos equipment I need to complete my system.

    • @HowToPM
      @HowToPM  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well. Sonos suport up to 5.2.
      So 5 speaker and 2 subs.
      And the center chanel is only available over their bars.
      SO basically with a Sonos Amp, you could only connect 4 of those 8 speaker.
      Front left and right and surrounds left and right.

    I have 5 in-ceiling speakers for surround system that are not from Sonos. 2 speakers in the front and 3 in the back. Any idea how I can connect them to Sonos Amp? It only takes 4 speakers. 2 on the left and 2 on the right, but what about the central one in the back?

    • @HowToPM
      @HowToPM  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Akrem. Sonos Amp are not designed to play a center speaker. It's made to be :
      1. A stereo Front
      2. A surround set combined with a sound bar
      3. Front Stereo and surround (in this case your central will not be connected but will be imulated by the left and right.
      In short you can't connect your 5 speakers toguether with any Sonos devices.
      I would use 4 of them and leave the center not connected, or purchase a cinema amp that was designed for this.

    • @HowToPM
      @HowToPM  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't see why you would need a pre-amp phono with a device of this kind. But anyway, you can amplify the input of the AMP at a phono input level. There is a setting to adjust the AMP input and you can connect a turntable on it.

    • @eddude2571

      Based on my experience, the Port (use to be called Connect: Amp) allows you to bring a traditional receiver and/or 5 or 7:1 speaker system into your Sonos Ecosystem. Also, you can use the Amp and just connect directly to passive speakers (not active speakers with amps installed already such as Sonos Fives or Playbar/Arc) such as Sonos or any wired in-ceiling/wall or standalone traditional speakers without the traditional stereo receiver.

    Can I connect the Sonos hdmi to a normal hdmi in my TV, I want to use the Sonos for my turntable. The tv will be connected to my Samsung soundbar thru e-arc hdmi. Would I be able to listen the turntable thru the soundbar? I want the Sonos just to use it as a link between my stereo hifi components and the soundbar. Sonos--normal hdmi tv input--tv. TV e-arc--soundbar. Cheers!

    • @HowToPM
      @HowToPM  ปีที่แล้ว

      That won't work. You must see the HDMI on the Amp as an input.
      I hope you use the Amp for other speaker, otherwise it's a very expensive input.
      The Five for exemple does have an input but also have a speaker ;)
      Otherwise, the most simple way to still use a sound-bar on your TV would be to replace the Samsung one by a Sonos Playbar.
      Then the audio would be sharable.
      But I think what I would do is to put great speaker on that Amp to listen the turntable.

      The delay would be in every speaker as the whole system digitalise the audio before sending it back to speakers.

I wanted to get 14 gauge but didn't see any reasonably priced for 100% oxygen free wire so I just purchased 16 gauge Rocketfish (Best Buy Brand) 100% oxygen free - 100 feet for $49. About the TV, you may use the RCA (analog white and red) input of one of the local source as I guess they are close.

    If you wanted to set up surround sound with a Sonos soundbar, Sonos sub and non-Sonos in ceiling speakers which device do you plug the arc into ?

    • @HowToPM
      @HowToPM  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well in this case the Sonos soundbar would be the front speakers and the Amp will be the surround speaker.
      But there is no need to physically connect something into a sonos soundbar.

      The best for you would be to use the ARC as front : geni.us/SonosArc
