well, I think they are made to sense life. (like u know how NPC enemies in video games can tell if player character is alive and continue to attack) So as long as Jin Woo breathing, they will continue attacking... so yeh, no mercy.
One thing i do like that wasnt in the manwha (from what i remember) was sung mentioning the hypocrisy of the guy saying he had a family. Everyone there had more than enough reason to deserve to live, and to say that was almost to tell sung that his life wasn't as valuable. Sung realizes that he lied to himself (in that moment) and realizes just how much he wanted to live. His VA killed it by showing how much anger he felt in that moment, and it was honestly so understandable.
It should be noted that the music is done by the same producer as Attack on Titan. Sometimes music can make or break a scene and i can already safely say the 2nd Phase with the singing statues was done significantly better here than in the Manhwa just from the theme and sync between what was happening on screen comparing to the song. We are in for a treat.

@PremedComrroade-25 to be fair, one hour long concept is still new and you can see that this anime is taken as experiment in adaption of manhwa in traditional anime style. most people working in these episodes are amatures like voice actors and animation directors.
@@prathmeshlagdive396 I mean its A1 handling it so I don't think they'd toss amateur staff on a big named project like this. I'm glad they made Jinwoo go through all that in the end because it makes the viewers completely on board with him being overpowered later on since they know and would have seen firsthand that he suffered a lot and deserved that reward.
I was thinking the same thing initially but if they each got to a statues at an adequate amount of time I think more people could survive, some would still be running around in the open. However, there could have been a minimum amount of people needed to complete that part of the trial because I’m not sure if the statues remained active if a person ran by one and left or if they needed one person to remain until all of them were occupied, the final part did need six participants to activate so maybe 6 people was the minimum amount to complete the dungeon or you could say it automatically changed the rules of the dungeon depending on how many people were still alive because of magic
