Andrew has received Grammy Awards for "Best Rock Album" for his work on Red Hot Chili Peppers' Stadium Arcadium, "Album Of The Year" for Adele's 21, and also "Best Reggae Album" for Ziggy Marley's Fly Rasta. Man, the humble spirit many of these top Mix Engineers have is inspiring. The compliments many of them receive, a lot of the time they pay forward (or I guess backward) to the recording engineers. I love this craft and the character it's helping me build.
I love the way Andrew explains his mixing. Super detailed and philosophical about it to.

oh so now its come to this... repeat episodes... this show has gone very down hill from the early days....
Even if I have nothing against replays of old episodes (if it's good, it's good), it's true that all the ITLs are pretty much ads, and I haven't seen great interviews in a while.
But still, watching episodes from 2 or 3 years ago, ther is some pretty good material in there.
yea dude and I cant bear Herb's repeat talks anymore.... show has given me a lot... I wish it wud go more ahead... they have so many opportunities and they do nothing... almost every guest has agreed to do an ITL but they just wont give them the chance.... they r slacking sooooo much

it s funny how this scammer "mixer engineer" talks about being in the box, and then talks about "pushing faders on my neve console" . same goes for greg wells and other scammers who try to push their shitty plugins thorough the market . now , i get that they are trying to make a living , but why the fuck would you say you use it , when you really dont ? scammers !

He now mixes 100% in the box unless his clients request otherwise, there are newer interviews where he explains in detail the reasons why he loves analog but doesn't do it that way anymore. You can demo his plugin and if you don't like it don't have to buy it. I don't think he scammed the Peppers, Adele or any of the other artists he's delivered incredible mixes for. He is free to mix whichever way he prefers to and sell whatever he wants. That's the ideal world we all want to live in.

RHCP is soooo overrated. Go listen to Fishbone or something else.... btw, Flea plays trumpet. True. Did you hear him? Go check Louis Cato. This cat plays tons of instruments like a boss. Or even Gary Husband!
Not overrated at all. I can only talk for the period John was in the band, but back then they earned every glory they were given. Look at Slane Castle live, and even closer how well Flea and John support each other, they are like one together! Anthony may not be the greatest singer of all time, but his timbre suits their songs perfectly fine + great lyrics. Finally... John fucking Frusciante - do I really need to say more? He had me buy my first guitar years ago.
John is cool, the band is not. Not they´re almost clowns playing music for teens. Really, go grab some Fishbone or even Jellyfish. Worlds apart.
My band opened for Fishbone in the '80s on one date. I'd never even heard of them. We heard the sound check and weren't terribly impressed. But then their set...oh shit. My jaw was on the floor. Amazing band.
