Has anyone else noticed the best audio/mix engineers have really warm and likable personalities? I love these guys, this is a great conversation. I know I say it every time, but the long format interviews are like nothing else in the world. They go sooooo deep into discussion, it's fantastic!!!
Once again very enjoyable program. Dave P is a delight to listen to, the warmth (not a word for mediocre in his case!) of his personality comes across so clearly. Also some interesting technical stuff as well as philosophy about audio. This one will stand repeated viewing. :D
Yeah, super great I'm glad Andrew gave Dave Pensado an opportunity to be interviewed. Dave is such a legend, he made more confident all those respectable engineers to share some tricks to the public. Prior to that, engineers were more like sonic guru's who kept their secret jalously unshared.
2 of my favorite engineers of all time, this episode was the most informative one with a lot of fantastic input. pureMIx you have done it again! Thanks for all your hard work. Thank you Andrew for clearing up this whole thing about gain staging, for many years I have been arguing that whole philosophy of this -18db staging. I always said "if its not hitting the 2 bus hard and its sounding good to you, why the heck are you doing all the GS to -18db, use your ears and common sense, and know your plugins/outboard" Thanks for ranting and saying it out loud. Love you guys

If I am not in my studio, I’m usually working in my head. You’ve both touched on things that have crossed my mind (sometimes thinking I must me crazy) however, I guess I am far from being alone!
