Oh my gosh!!! You're classes are amazing'. I am Indian and tomorrow is my English exam . This class help me to know more about syllables. I'm gonna rock tomorrow.😎..Thank you so much Ronnie Ma'am.😍
Wow!! Thank you Ronnie for this amazing class. You're so funny and creative in your classes. I'm Brazilian and I'm learning how to speak English. Your video have been very useful for me.
The easiest way to count the syllables is by tapping ( e.g. tappig the table ) while you saying the word, count how many taps you did... congrats! you got how many syllables :D
I'm fifty years old,and was always a little slow in my younger days with this kinda stuff at school and also got into a lot of trouble there,I did an education course in my late 40s and was learning all this kinda stuff but my wife got ill so I now am full time carer for her,and them the pandemic happened and I can no longer afford the time or money for my educational course. So your channel is a God send to me! Please believe me when I say,,Thank you,and God bless you for doing this! And helping old idiots like me to try and learn again😊👍❤
Thank you for this explanation. I am teaching this to middle school students tomorrow and needed some clear ways to explain syllables so that they can understand. Thank you!
A syllable may look like the OREO. You see, the OREOs are always in the form of this: 1-Biscuit(consonant sound)-cream(Vowel sound)- Biscuit(consonant sound): tea-pot/ti-ger 2-Biscuit(consonant sound)-cream(Vowel sound):de-crea-se 3-cream(Vowel sound):E-mma But a consonant sound can never make up of a syllable, because it's just a piece of normal buscuit, not specifically refering to the OREO.
I'm a biggner for English. Today my English teacher taught about syllable but I couldn't understand to count syllable... So I watched this and I could understand very well❤
she's good in her method, every word is clearly explained and pronounced.... good job mam! one thing that is confusing in the word "university" i think there's 4 vowel sounds, because here U is vowel letter not a vowel sound! correct me. thanks
Asma Khalid I think if "u" in "university" was a vowel sound, then we would have used the indefinite article with "university" since any words beginning with a vowel sound must have an indefinite article.
Barchia Suchiang if so, then we would have had to put an indefinite article "an" before any words beginning with "Y" since all words initialising with a vowel letter must have been modified by an indefinite article if needed.
You are right. The 'U' in 'University' is a consonant sound, however there are exceptions to the rule. The consonant 'U' in the beginning of a word is counted as a separate syllable. If you don't count it, it's as if the first part of the word doesn't even exist, hence your count would fail to give you an accurate idea of the length of the word. U.Ni.Ver.Si.Ty --> Ni-Ver-Si-Ty However, 'U' in the middle of a word can be a vowel. For instance, the word 'Mule' has one syllable, because 'Mule' is pronounced 'Meeyool,' where the 'ee' sound is the vowel. Here 'U' is not just 'yoo,' but 'eeyoo'. Same with 'Puke'. Another example is 'Pull' which is pronounced 'Pool', but that's entirely different because it doesn't have the 'yoo' sound.
Thank u so much mam....I have a 4 n half yr old daughter n they are teaching syllables in school n ur videos made me easy to learn n teach her too......

she's good in her method, every word is clearly explained and pronounced.... good job mam! one thing that is confusing in the word "university" i think there's 4 vowel sounds, because here U is vowel letter not a vowel sound! correct me. thanks
it is 5 actually. If you pronounce the word you will that the letter 'U' is making a vowel sound as well.
(1) u- (2)ni-(3)ver-(4)si-(5)ty
note that..'Y' is sometime considered as vowels ok.try to understand this particular mistake.that's why 'University' has 5 syllables because of 'y'..
