This isn't the most challenging track, but the arrangement is accurate as hell. Not everyone can manage to catch all the accents and nuances. However you're basically going at max velocity for the entire arrangement, which leaves no headroom. If you're in the market for a tip in this regard: Aim for 100-110, so when I need to go all out, especially on fills and the snare drum, I can crank it hard. Also, your drum mix is pretty spot on, at least to my tastes. I'd consider tweaking the transients on the kick drums a tad, though. They *can* be a bit boomy during fast repeated kicks, which will no doubt eat away where the bass guitar and guitar should sit in the mix. Don't get me wrong, I love a good boomy and resonant kick, and it does have a place in metal, but it's probably better suited for slower riffage.. :)
These drums sound better than the recording. I would prefer to hear these instead of what is there. I love the riffage but the drum production is lacking IMO.
The crazy part is that Tomas sounds exactly as locked in as this
QUANTIZED!!
@@Tuggerdrums exactly. People don’t realise all metal drum recordings are edited to perfection.
The drum parts on Immutable sound so overproduced I'm surprised they were actually not programmed.
