I cant help but cry bidding farewell to PAL's Boeing 747-400...Thanks PAL's 747-400 for safely bringing in and out of the country if I may say Millions of Passenger into your wings for many years ...I salute you! Go now and you deserve to rest...Bye PAL's Boeing 747-400....
It was summer of 1998 when my mom and I flew with Philippine Airlines' B-747 bound for Seoul, South Korea (Gimpo Airport, not Incheon yet). I was 8 years old. :D Back then, there's no NAIA Centennial Terminal 2 yet, but NAIA Terminal 1 for all international flights from Manila and when I saw this aircraft, oh it's huge! I am so privileged and very lucky for flying with B-747. Thank you for the priceless experience, PAL Queen B-747!
So emotional & nostalgic....definitely deserving of a place inside an aviation museum. Cartainly appreaciate the journeys we took with you. You worked hard, now is your time to retire :^ )
Ahh lots of memories indeed. My first trips to the homeland of mama to visit titos titas and mga pinsan. Trips with the barkada to see our roots. and of course our Bebots haha :) The excitement and exhilaration of going to Philippines for me, would always begin when stepping onboard that PAL Jumbo. Yeah it was always ipit ipit, and could only afford economy, I didn't mind one bit because the fun times would always begin soon as those wheels would kiss the runway in NAIA. The PAL Jumbo 747 was more than just a plane, it was part of the original Philippine experience for me and for this, they will be sorely missed!!!
I've only been on PAL's BAC 111, B737s and A320s... I deeply regret flying other airlines' jumbos. Now, I never get to ride one anymore. PAL should buy at least two B748i.
It is sad that she retire the Philippine horizon to serve the other nation including local destination as well. But, I'm happy that I aboard PAL Flight Boeing 747-400 ERF Aircraft with the designated routes of PR854 Cebu-Manila & PR814 Manila-Davao respectively. I took this flight on 3rd day of November, 2011 spending 3 Nights & 3 Days Vacation on Cebu with our younger brother. For me, I'm very glad that I aboard this big aircraft first time in my life. Even shes retire in the sky, it is my pleasure to board this aircraft. Once again, MABUHAY :-).
