I watched a video (don’t remember whose it was) that mentioned that possibly the reason why brands name their products like ‘the highlight’ or ‘the best highlight’ is so that when people are searching online for products and type in “The best highlighter”, their product will pop up

I hope elf is just silently getting ready to introduce a slightly-revamped version of the foundation more in line with their current product design (and without fragrance maybe? Please?) because it is SO underrated. I loved your picks and this concept!

i would say that primer is totally necessary and beneficial for people with particular skin concerns they’d like to deal with so that it doesn’t interfere with their makeup. ie if you have dry skin, a hydrating primer can do wonders. i have oily skin so a mattifying/longwearing primer is generally my go-to. as if i don’t wear it, makeup will slide off my face much quicker than without. however, one can also just use their sunscreen as their primer. just depends on personal preference ✨

I think the names that are 'The Highlighter' or 'That Blush' or even 'What the Foundation' are all in part SEO optimization tactics. If you google 'what the best foundation,' (this feels like an easy typo!) Jones Road What the Foundation comes up. If you google 'Sale Makeup' Saie Beauty is in the top 5 results.

Great video! I know everyone is different, so wanted to share some of my must haves that you don’t use. Even in my 40’s I still have oily skin and can’t skip primer or loose powder. Even if i do a more natural day and skip foundation and just use a SPF moisturizer, I still need both. (I love my skincare, my oil is just next level). For primers one of my fav from the drugstore is the Rimmel Stay Matte. If I’m looking for smoothing instead, I like the Ordinary High-Spreadability Fluid Primer. For powder my favorite is the No 7 translucent, but I know that can be hard to find. I also like the Mabelline Fit Me loose powder.

I'd have to say colourpop for "drugstore" eyeshadow. It's in target now and they can be colorful, neutral, both, they have matte, shimmer, toppers, different textures. Plus supershock individual shadows for 1 and done looks. I don't like most affordable eyeshadow. Juvias place, bh and colourpop are pretty much it. Oh and beauty bay lol.

I actually kinda like the sun bum face one for wearing under makeup, as it kind of has a tacky finish, like where you literally can't rub it in anymore because it drags your skin. I know Ulta has like a $4 mini you could always purchase and try out 🤷 does leave a nice glow on the skin, too!

Not drugstore, but Sephora carries the Innisfree sunscreen at $16 for 1.69 oz or $29 for 3.38 oz of product. With the Sephora sale coming up, you can get it for even less depending on your purchasing level. It feels more like a moisturizer than a sunscreen IMO and does not leave any white cast. It’s only SPF 36, but I layer it under foundation that has spf as well. Highly recommend - this is such an underrated spf!
