I think he has a lot more specialized gear now than he used to have. He used to have The same real for every application, but now he has more finesse style jerkbait reels, the heavy duty punching Revo ALF, and in general he just has a bit higher priced reels across the board. I’m sure he’s very happy with them, but i don’t think he really experienced the variety that shimano has to offer

I always carry six rods while I’m on my kayak. Does it look excessive? Maybe to some. But I know I have more presentation options ready to go without having to retie.
I tell you what I agree with him on Wednesday I have one of the best days I’ve ever had in my life fishing the Delta. Got almost 25 stripers the biggest was 18 pounds several over 12 pounds and 10 largemouth over 3 pounds And now today I got off the water early because I didn’t get a single bite not one! And I fish 3 to 4 days a week going on almost 8 years now our ranch backs up to the river so I’m out there as much as I can so I know it very well but damn not many bodies of water fish day to day like the Delta that’s why I love it more then anywhere! And just a heads up the baits that were absolutely killin it was a 6in bomber jointed minnow wake bait silver blue and a fluke jr shad color weightless fast twitch and the A rig and I’m not trying to sound like a know it all but try putting little 3in swim baits on your A rig instead of the 4 or 5 in I’m have way more success with going smaller. You share so much of your information and knowledge I just want to help when I can! Thanks again
Matching the tide with the morning and evening bite is key, for the most optimal bite. -The tide is not time-locked so it's always high tide at a different time of day. -weather conditions will tell you what baits to throw, but wind is good -avoid low tide, even morning and evening bite are hard during low tide. -when you are out on the water and it's low tide, I recommend using redworm and fish for panfish, until the tide is high again, because it's going to be extremely slow, especially during cold-winter day. -Panfish will bite in all conditions, so fish for fun to waste time is good for slow days.

I’m telling you Greg, try the River2sea Biggie “Cold Blooded” CrankBait. Great cold water bait and I’ve always had success on the delta with it. Usually attracts fatter fish for some reason
Greg, great trip and you accomplished, finding the fish, and a limit. I now have 7 rod's, and adding slowly. Being my 1st year, in my kayak, getting to motor out further and deeper. I've learned 2-3 rods, rarely works. Some setups, just won't work with different baits. Another great video. Be safe bro. 🙏 🎣

Greg have you tried the free kayak launch off big break in oakley? very safe clean spot, always clear parking. its in the regional shoreline parking lot, just before the little fishing pier. edit: got several 22-26" stripers off lipless cranks and jerks in the immediate area the other day, good fights.

I just recently bought that scale too couple days ago. Arriving tomorrow. But im hoping it comes with that same fish grip as yours. Tyler (the frey experience) recomended that scale. The one i ordered shows a different squeeze clip. If it does im have to go buy the one like yours. Hope to see you use it more often and show how to use it.

Tough. But you MADE it work. 11 hrs. What dedication, as your friend bailed. Question:::If you had just a max of say 5 hrs to fish the delta every time out, what tide and time would you fish? My answer……….Before sunset. High tide to outgoing tide. For me that’s the most productive year round……but this time of year and winter sucks. I’m trolling for big stripes.
I’m sitting in high 30 deg air temp. water temp is I’m hoping still warmer than the air temp by 5 -10deg. Been catching some east coast giants 4-6lbs but it’s been 3 days since hope their still eating

Definitely, seems to be Dec/Jan for me and then February can be hit or miss. Unfortunately when the fishing gets "good" in March/April the winds can be really bad
Is the delta not a big boating area or is he normally too shallow. I fish in central florida and man is every lake leisure boaters and fishers haven I’m like the only kayak lol.
