    I was quite puzzled about the M.2 heatsink, thanks for clearing that up for me!

    • @Lancia444
      @Lancia444 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually - the official response from Asus says that is related to the PCIe Graphics Card slot - even a dual slot card will inhibit cooling for the 2nd M.2 slot, and in testing they found it often had up to 10 degrees higher temps hence why they included it.
      The consideration of Gen 4 SSDs having heatsinks is ridiculous as at the time of R&D for this board the only Gen4s available did NOT have heatsinks...

    • @Drumaier
      @Drumaier 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Lancia444 finally I fully and officially understand the reason for this heatsink configuration!! So Asus did a great and conscious decision here.

      Your not going to have any problems with an 5900x or even a 5950x. But at the same time I'm set with my rig for the next couple years. Even my 2080 Super isn't worth upgrading because it still runs great.

      And one more thing I have a 1000w power supply for this so thats another thing I don't have to worry about even tho these CPU's shouldn't take that much headroom I still don't want to have any bottlenecks either.

    Man, my bro, I didn't know about this channel but is so refreshing to see a person doing an stellar review in a natural way without forcing a clown personality to "attract attention“. I got this mobo and now waiting for my 5950x to arrive, also I got a msi gaming z trio 3080. When buying this mobo I didn't realize it was micro atx, now I know what the M of the b550m stands for 😅. Anyhow I hope everything fits OK with a Be Quiet dark rock 4 and a heatsink for the gen 4 m.2 drive. If it does this will be by far the the most packed configuration I have ever built.

    this PCIE layout is good for not blocking GPU airflow. Some boards are able to fit 3 slot GPU with last PCIE x4 open but unable to use second M.2 because they share lanes with PCIE_4.

    Hi Luke 🖐😊 great in depth review as always 👍. I agree at its current pricing that it’s a lil expensive and should drop its price and an integrated I/O is a must! The lack of USB-C is not a big deal I think for many people in my opinion. It’s great to see that the ASUS TUF range is starting to improve its quality as in recent times the TUF branding with different components have been plagued poor design & thermals, QC issues and overpricing e.g. TUF 5700XT, Laptop A15 to name a couple. I personally find that pricing for most TUF stuff here in Australia 🇦🇺 is a lil overpriced for what you receive for our hard earned cash 💰💰. Keep up the great work, cheers 🍺 🍻 👍😊

    I bought this mb last month for a mtax build with my old 2700X. I have a cube case from the early 2000's that has a celeron dual core 775 mb. No USB 3.0 front header, it does have firewire, I've never used firewire devices so no loss. Thanks for the hard work, it is worth the money to me for the Bios. This will be my "hand me down" system. It gets all the parts from my other two systems that have been upgraded to 3900X / 3600X. This is going to be my lan party system.

    Great and concise review. I should have seen this before buying this mb. Tha lack of AIO and one more fan header for case air flow balance, plus de lack of VRM temperature sensor indicates that ASUS did not expected consumers would want to use AIO water cooler and an accurate air flow resources, mostly in small cases options. The final frustration was the ĺack of internal USB Type C header.

    Hi friend.. as am on tight budget. I got this one Like-New One at cheap price. And I got one 5900x ryzen from my friend. And am doing mainly heavy audio mixing/ and normal video production in my town in Jordan. My question how much I can overclock this processor on this motherboard. I was able to overclock as 4.2ghz at volt of 1.15 and system was stable. All temperature was really super fine. Cpu temp as 37c. Motherboard was 33c.
    The problem there is no vrm temp sensor and i couldnot monitor it. Anyway
    I used aio cooling 240x. I have xfx radeon 580 8gb GPU.
    How much max overclock can i go with stable system. ?? I saw some went up 4.65 ghz at 1.2370 on same config.
    Anyway to monitor vrm temp as simply.

    So if I'm using the Noctua NH-D15 CHROMAX.BLACK 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler, how many 120mm case fans can I use with it?

      2 fans for Noctua NH-D15 goes in CPU fan headers. with the other two remainings for chassis cooling, you need to use a fan splitter cable
