Thank you David Wise..back in the mid 90s i used to record your music on my dads boom box..on cassette lol and im glad that when you paused the game the music would still play not alot of games had that ability at the time. I would draw, travel, and sleep listening to all of your DKC music.. all bro.. Im 37 now and your music has been a part of my life untill this day. I know that I will live the rest of my life jammin out to your music it just never left my mind or my life..it had a good impact in me. I always wondered who composed/created the music to the game..and its awesome to see and know who it was through our technology today...No one else could have done/wrecked (dkc music) like you man. You are so right about the power of the internet now. Not only has it given us the name and face to go with the brilliant music we loved in DKC but it also lets us watch stuff like this. As a kid I hand no damn clue in the future there would be other people obsessed with music from the games they played. Now we have orchestras playing the stuff in front of packed audiences. It still amazes me. The SNES and PS1 had some of the greatest music ever used in games.

DKC 2 was his magnum opus. Every single track from that game is burned into my mind. I played that game countless times in the 90's. It's my favorite platformer.
@@rudeboyspodcast TP's harmonies don't come close to those of DKC2. Actually, some of these orchestrated scores sound worse than the SNES originals because the harmony is drowned in too many different instruments and arrangements. Some of the scores improve on the originals, though.
Totally, today we can hear the song as a great piece of music, but back then when we where first playing the game that músic just blew our minds and immerse our selfs in the adventure, still makes me feel so many things.
This song make me feel like depressed or something, i didnt like the song till i grew up, and now i love it, its amazing how a song makes you feel under water just with the calm, the slow sound and that sound of a submarime repeating during all the song. I dont know what david wise was thinking when he created the soundtrack of this game, but it just fit perfect. I would love to see the game with 2020 graphics and the restored music.

The music of the most popular games do also have separate soundtracks released - Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2, Snake Pass, Yooka Laylee, Diddy Kong Racing, Nyamyam: Tengami... & some crazy folk are even making retro vinyl LPs off of his Battletoads soundtrack :) www.iam8bit.com/products/battletoads-vinyl-soundtrack physical copies are usually easy to find on web stores but older releases are often limited & rare ;)

anderson schwartz He’s primarily a composer and not much of a musician, so most of the time when he’s playing an instrument it’s when he’s alone in his studio when he has as many chances as he needs to get the right recording. He also only knows a tiny bit of the ukulele and he doesn’t seem too experienced with the melodica considering how often he had to look down at what notes he was playing, and if I was in that same situation I would be really nervous too. Based on all of the interviews I’ve seen with him, he seems like a pretty quiet and shy person so it was probably a lot for him to present in front of a big audience like that.

I think he did better work in Tropical Freeze since he wasn't limited by the sound chips anymore, but DKC2 does have tons of great tunes!
