1:29 The “and...the color of your hair” gets me emotional at the quality of his voice. He’s so incredibly attractive and talented, such an intelligent actor in movies and in musicals with the way he projects his character into his singing, you can feel the emotion and what the words mean to the character he’s playing - everything that should be happening. Same with Annaleigh. Makes my heart swell.

Annaleigh Ashford is ABSOLUTELY beautiful in this musical. Her voice absolutely makes my heart siiiing! The beauty and melody and smoothness of her voice prove to me without fail that infinite Love is real! I literally just diiiie every time I hear her on this track.
Jake sings beautifully too.

No disrespect to the great Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters, who were both obviously excellent in originating these roles; but man, Jake and Annaleigh knocked this revival out of the park. I’ve been revisiting all of Sondheim’s cast recordings this weekend and I just can’t get over how good these two sound together. I hope the West End production is able to re-open at some point so I have a chance to see this again.
Ah, it’s so neat to watch Sondheim watching them.
I'd written off Gyllenhaal as a pretty boy who did rather empty films. Then came Brokeback and I took another look. Now these remarkable musical roles! Anyone who understands Sondheim so deeply yet can pivot to Little Shop with equal dexterity and insight...well, never judge a book...
It's March 2018 and I just NOW found out Jake has a GORGEOUS singing voice.

Loved watching this today, for the talent Jake and Annaleigh have, but most of all to see Mr. Sondheim as he worked so closely every time he brought one of his masterpieces to the stage!
