To be fair using the space where people are sleeping and living with their expensive rooms (probably without notifying anyone) is not the best thing. While it's understandable that Tyler may have disrupted the scene, it's important to note that if one chooses to film in a public hotel with a large film crew, they should be prepared for the potential consequences. If I were to leave my room in the early hours of the morning and have to navigate through a throng of filming TH-camrs, I'd certainly be quite frustrated.

I work at the hotel. That doesn’t happen for no reason… Tyler’s crew had received noise complaints and was warned by security twice before the police were involved, not by Brent, but by the hotel. I hate being put in the position to play defense for Brent, but Tyler was being awful.

So many TH-camrs and TV shows have filmed at The Stanley Hotel that I'm sure management just puts up with a certain level of nonsense. However, they should have some filming rules in place (like no filming on certain floors or during certain hours) so "normal guests" can come and go without running into the fake Shining twins or a TH-cam crew.

I don't like Tyler Oliveira. Dude gives me the ick. Having watched many of his videos where he "talks to the homeless", he tries to act as though he is a savior coming in from the suburbs and educating the suburbanites on just how dangerous and scary the big city can be while coding it all in "awareness for homelessness". He tries to come off as caring, but there's a noticeable lack of empathy in his videos for the actual woes those people are going through and it's very apparent that he uses blight to gain viewership and perceived kindness. A lot of his "journalism" removes the human aspect of homeless peoples and creates a strong feeling of "themness", where there's always a clear notion of discomfort and grossness coming from Tyler when he's in the vicinity of homeless people. In the end, his videos come off as an advertisement to stay away from cities rather than raising awareness for the homelessness epidemic and asking people to invest (rather that be through donation or volunteer work) in homeless shelters and general aid.

I work at the hotel. That doesn’t happen for no reason… Tyler’s crew had received noise complaints and was warned by security twice before the police were involved, not by Brent, but by the hotel. I hate being put in the position to play defense for Brent, but Tyler was being awful.

So many TH-camrs and TV shows have filmed at The Stanley Hotel that I'm sure management just puts up with a certain level of nonsense. However, they should have some filming rules in place (like no filming on certain floors or during certain hours) so "normal guests" can come and go without running into the fake Shining twins or a TH-cam crew.
That means they could sue you. And you definitely don't want to have to deal with them any longer.

Having watched many of his videos where he "talks to the homeless", he tries to act as though he is a savior coming in from the suburbs and educating the suburbanites on just how dangerous and scary the big city can be while coding it all in "awareness for homelessness". He tries to come off as caring, but there's a noticeable lack of empathy in his videos for the actual woes those people are going through and it's very apparent that he uses blight to gain viewership and perceived kindness. A lot of his "journalism" removes the human aspect of homeless peoples and creates a strong feeling of "themness", where there's always a clear notion of discomfort and grossness coming from Tyler when he's in the vicinity of homeless people. In the end, his videos come off as an advertisement to stay away from cities rather than raising awareness for the homelessness epidemic and asking people to invest (rather that be through donation or volunteer work) in homeless shelters and general aid.

They both handled it terribly, but Brent definitely comes off worse. It all starts because he’s literally filming it in public in the hallways directly outside the guys room, and then he gets him kicked out. What the other guy did was also bad, but if you’re gonna do a shoot directly outside peoples hotel rooms you’ve got to expect people are gonna come and talk to you or disrupt the shoot, because they literally have to go through your shoot to leave their room.
In Tyler's defense, he was mostly trolling Brent. He also was very chill with the cops and didn't argue with them whatsoever.n

Actual big celebrities have been shown to do this "Who are you?" crap as well when they get into a fight with a smaller celebrity. It is a powerful way to downplay everything someone has accomplished especially when all they have to their personality is ego.
