Part 6 (the reveal) is out there already! This episode 5 took longer to edit so I released it late and out of sequence. Check my Kurt Vise Restoration playlist on my channel and you will find them all there.

@@EnoRestoration Aw, now don't be spoilling christmas on me there, or telling how the movie ends... I am growing/learning here, right along with you sir... Like grandpappi said: I love work; I could sit and watch for hours....
Will you be making new/different jaws for the vice(s) aswell, sometime down the road?

New jaws, maybe “soft jaws” are a good idea, thank you!

I thought this was out of order. 😂 when i saw this today i was thinking last video he finished the vise and assembled it.

Yeah, sorry about that. This one took a longer time to edit and I was trying to keep a regular pace with launching the videos weekly... Thanks for following along!

Does it really matter if the bottom face of the jaws are out of square? The top surface and the clamping surface yes but how does the bottom affect anything as a gap is acceptable in most cases. On the other hand, "one should always aim for perfection but know when to settle for excellence."

I was aiming for, or at least, measuring for perfection. I was curious to know what the accuracy was of these two vises - to see if there was a tolerance I could live with. As I do more work on the Bridgeport Mill with this vise, I'll see how it works out. Thanks for following my channel and your feedback.

You should watch the Build Something Cool TH-cam channel about fixing a Chinese made vise. This video th-cam.com/video/kNAFlsSDHo0/w-d-xo.html gives some very useful info on correcting some issues with a vise be it a Chinese made or Kurt made vise. Especially the part on measuring the vise I think is important.
