K7AGE Ham Radio Field Day 2016

Field Day is the largest amateur radio operating event in America.
Ham radio operators take their equipment to the field to practice their skills at setting up and operating temporary radio stations. This is a good skill to practice, as during and emergency event amateur radio operators may be call upon to provide communications.
I operated Field Day from our hilltop outside of Gold Beach Or. on June 25, 2016. I operated from the back seat of my truck. I used a 20 foot tall pole to hold up a 20 meter dipole. I have large lead acid battery pack that I used to run my radio and I charged it from a 100 watt portable solar panel. I used my Yaesu FT-857 radio. I logged with N3FJP's Field Day contest logging software.
I had lots of fun.
