Also worth noting using a pokemon with the ability Intimidate, Unnerve, or Pressure will also increase the chance of the wild pokemon calling for help.

When you eventually do a POC in USUM, have fun Ultra Warp Riding for hours to catch the Ultra Beasts, the random Ultra Space Wilds Pokémon, and nearly all the legendaries that existed at the time.

Just letting you know, Poni is pronounced "Po-nee", not "Paw-nee". It means purple in Hawaiian. All the islands are named after a color, which actually coincides with the color of the corresponding Hawaiian island in real life.

The colors also appear on the respective Oricorio and Tapu.

Alola has the slowest encounter animations out of any Pokémon games. Must have been rough grinding
I love the Alola games as a whole. SM had a superior story, and USUM had superior gameplay, so altogether they're a very solid generation, and currently my favorite. (Note that I haven't played gen 4 or 5, which seem to be fan favorites)
I think 5 is better than 4 by quite a bit I think 4 is over rated but it’s recently I have realised how good gen 5 is story wise black and white 1 are so good
Gen 5 is basically the Cooler gen 7.
I think gen 4is great and will always be loved but gen 5 really makes you think about yourself and the world around you it's amazing
you can't really judge that until you play the three games with proper story those being platinum, black & white and black & white 2. because comparing alola to the others when kanto, johto, kalos and galar lack stories and hoenn's is trash is a bad comparison
@@anakinsmith4770 True, but I can compare to Arceus (and to White 1 now, I've played it since commenting this). I gotta say, I still prefer S/M to B/W, but I have heard that BW2 are better, so the jury's still out. I'm about halfway through W2 now. Arceus is tied, I'd say.
Also, the spinoffs tend to have good stories, but I'm not sure how involved GAMEFREAK was in stuff like the Ranger games or Colosseum/XD; I'll have to look into that.
Also also, none of the regions *lack* stories... they're just *really* basic and bad for the most part.

At the very least have a "I have played Pokemon before" option.
Kids are stupid but I think there should be an option to have to get help. Like before you play the game when it makes you select a language it asks you if you have played Pokémon before.
Honestly, USUM really do beat SuMo, in my eyes, in all but one thing: how they handled Lusamine. I _adored_ how Lusamine was just such a snide bitch in the OG SuMo games, changing her in USUM felt... off, honestly.

But I need to say I think the last battle against her is such a missed opportunity. Like they have a woman controlling multiple ultra beasts by fusing with them and then you fight her... in a normal pokemon battle
@@mariazollner5574 they intended you to fight her instead of her pokemon but they realised that hackers would just add her to their teams even if they made her unchatchable, so they made her a trainer instead

A different option for Rain during the Politoed chase is getting a Pelliper with Drizzle, making it hold the Damp Stone, and swapping it in to refresh the rain without using PP...

As much as I enjoy watching the challenges, I have no idea why you would ever willingly attempt such a challenge.
Racing to complete the Pokédex, sure. Grinding dozens of Pokémon to leave 30+ before the first badge or trial is insane.
This is the first Alola video I've managed to watch since I completed my usum poc in early December last year... 5 fuckin weeks it took to get all the fossils and stones out of pokepelago, but my Misdreavus stayed first time after showing up 2 days after starting the search 😂 couldn't watch anything remotely involving Alola since, that's how badly it hurt me.
All this to say, good job man and good luck for usum, I swear to god I'll never play Alola again after that fuckery omg
48:58 True. Also given how they deal with Extinct Pokémon it's weird that they aren't Invasive Species yet. Especially given that Alola finally talked about Invasive Species at all given that's probably a huge issue in the Pokémon World as many Pokémon are intelligent enough to make it to a place where they shouldn't quite be by themselves.
Such as the Indian Firefish in reality who learned to immigrate into the Mediterranean Sea via the Suez Canal. Its sufficing intelligence to do that (in conjunction with its immense appetite) becoming an issue. In the Pokémon World with tons and tons of similarly intelligent lifeforms, the problem would be way worse. (Granted, that humans ever became the dominant species in this world is highly illogical anyway so putting too much thought into this is likely for naught.)
I feel like humans in pokemon world have higher resistance to pokemon attacks (since technically humans are also pokemon) but they have little to no attack (except some physic trainers) which led to them traveling everywhere and taking over.

When trying to catch Politoed I literally caught 2 shiny poliwags first.
I got him when I was training my Pelipper, honestly when I am trying to catch a Gabite it took me 2 hours, but this thing shows up out of nowhere. Sometimes this game can be unfair.
Once again, I still believe that catching a Politoed in this game is the hardest to encounter.
Fun fact:bagon is called"Kindwurm" in german
If translated literally it would mean "child worm"
Plus it rhymes with lindworm, a kind of dragon. I really like that name.

Good video. Definitely need to start pronouncing things better though. Like the names of locations in Alola are real hawaiian words, you could look it up. Also Poképelago is pronounced like archipelago. PELago, not peLAGo.

There are two easy ways of getting heart scales as long as you have money. In the restaurant of Konikoni City if you order the last item on the menu Olivia will show up and give you 8(?) heart scales. The same thing will happen in Sushi High Roller in Mali City but with Nanu

I hate poke pelago too! I couldn't find a Misdreveas in my Ultra sun Playthough even though bulbapediqa said it was there once you got to Poni island and I hated it! I didn't want to have to wait post game to get my favourite pokemon!

Great video! I would suggest something like Smeargle for farming SoS in the future - Leppa Berry + Recycle is your friend for infinite stall.
now I have an interesting prof oak challenge, a true prof oak challenge: pick a generation with version exclusives, and get the ENTIRE pokedex full. meaning all starters, will have to be traded. but also all version exclusives have to be caught in their respective version. I suggest gen 3 because you will have pokemon leaf green and fire red aswel!
if it is not possible to trade for some reason I would agree that you can spawn them in if that is possible in emulators, but you do have to have caught every exclusive in their respective game before you can do that.

Yes! I think he's facing some difficulty getting motivated. He had a great first video, but I think he set the bar too high for himself on the first part of it. We should encourage him to set the bar lower and gradually raise it.
I would like even a minute video on the progress of his Pokéwalker challenge just so we know whether he is staying the course with that. I do hope he keeps at it.
I don't know if you will do that, but why don't you consider a POCchallenge on pokemon Unbound?
it has places around the region here you can fight trainers for an unlimited amount of time, with also a healer inside(and the first one is before the first gym), level scaling so it's easier to train weaker mons in these places but it's also not a vanilla story and has some tricky puzzles as well

Yes I got Sylveon in the same general time that I got Espeon and Umbreon, which was pre-Lana.
Just wanted to make sure. I didnt see it when you were grinding friend evos. Still am EXTREMELY impressed with people doing professor Oak challenges and you have done a LOT. I was about to play a pixelmon adventure map called "Pixelmon Peridot" and either do a nuzlocke or some sort of challenge. It has gym badges and a plot and everything! Probably my most weird poc request, but still. Good luck on the shiny only let go poc! That sounds a looks like its gonna be painful lol
