I understand literally nothing of what he says, but he says it with so much positive energy and there's a dude on skis doing cool tricks so I keep watching.
I think steep and riders are just two different types of games, like skate 3 and THPS. Skate is more realistic, with its audience being rewarded after putting in a bit of time to learn the mechanics and understand the gameplay. It's similar to steep in this way. The wider audience may not play up until the point where they are rewarded, and the market for people who buy it is going to be smaller. THPS on the other hand isn't realistic, but offers a whole lotta fun with the outrageous gameplay it has to offer. While the audience it is aimed at will include hardcore skate fans looking for a game they can pump realistic tricks into, the wider audience is not in for that. It makes sense to create a game that can be played by everyone, and more support will come to a game like that. With riders republic being a game that anyone can pick up and enjoy, there will be more support for it. Businesses will only support what makes them money. After all, the companies producing it, the people making it, they all need to get paid. If riders takes off, the development team will be able to continue supporting the game for a long time, and will be able to polish it for fans. If a hardcore setting is what the people want, I'm sure the developers would pay attention to it, and maybe as part of a future update put it in. I can understand what you mean, but you gotta remember, it is a beta run too. It's cool to see so many people playing it though, a big community is what it needs to keep it going and to keep support for it going too.

Aye steep bro if you like the mtb mode you should play descenders. It’s def the best mtb game hands down the physics are too fun especially when you get into the advanced whip mechanics
if you want to late spin you have to do the first jump using a side input on the right stick... if you jump using down then input a left side spin the game will read it as a late cork (or down left) so alternatively I like to jump using left or right if I know im going to late spin... also idk who needs to hear it but if you push up on the left stick when landing fakie on a bike you can roll away in fakie pretty easily and at decent speeds..
Still hate how locked the flip + spin axes are and not being able to spin on a rail... I hate how much I want to like this game but with like 4 hours in beta I'm already pretty disappointed. Oh well, I'll try the full version when it goes on sale lmao

There is a setting where holding the right stick makes you flip faster and holding less makes you flip slower and it might be in the gameplay setting or controller settings and its called steep mode
I thought steep mode only just guides you to setup for a landing when you release the right stick? or I think thats what it said but if it works like that thats pretty nice

They should make different controls for sports, so you can have the steep controls for skiing and trickster controls for biking without manually switching
Can't wait to play this game in October. Besides farcry6 coming out Oct 7th, this is my 2nd favorite game coming out this year. Question though, manual landing the way to go? Or start with automatic until you get the hang of the tricks.. thoughts?
ive only played the beta but this looks so much worse than steep and it felt worse. you can really feel that they have spent more time on the biking than the skiing. i got very dissapointed when i tried the skiing for the first time because it was not close to the steep controlls or the smoothness.
No and yes. Rider mode is A X B controls as you described, but the beta let you choose Trickster mode too in which you use the sticks to make tricks. And after the introduction you can select Steep mode in settings to get controls similar to Steep (rotations with left stick, grabs with right stick and jump with R2).
no the controls are not true to steep at all. The right stick does not work like in steep, you cant put any touch or tweak, its just bad overall. I was in the beta as well, its a regression in a lot of ways to steep. There are a bunch of positives about the game but man are there some faults.

You really might as well call this game steep with a big update. Not even near worth the freakin price it is. I thought it would at least be something to be hyped up about, a newer steep type thing but jeez thanks for the boredom, you worked on the game for like 2 years or something and even delayed it. And this is the game. I might as well just continue to play steep. Which now I will. Steep call out the right tricks that your doing man I’m watching and rewinding and re reading the tricks u call out and you call out the complete opposite like how u say left side double cork when you did a right double rodeo 1080 but when u say right side u did a left side trick learn your tricks bro your steep content is more interesting cause you call the right tricks out. It seems like you just try to read off the trick as you do it

@J_B flat rail with a little swing at the end. They go up on the end so it kinda has a junp on the last part of it
So fun I’ve honestly found that the trickster mode with flicking the right stick around makes jibbing easier
fly up high with the rocket wing and then switch to skis if you want to learn the different graps and controls
they need to work on the landings of all the sports
The park riding is so good in this game with the new manual controls, took a little bit to get used to, but after that it felt so good !!

Looks not as smooth as steep tbh. There is always this small "lag" right before the landing and I just can't get over it ..
Yeah steep seems more polished and steep is way more realistic than riders but riders is still in beta so they could change it
