According to the triple entente treaty britain was an ally with france and russia but still britain took the attacks by russia on Belgium to jump in the war .....Why britain did not simply say that I am an ally with france and russia and hence I will fight for them........Why did britain took a 70 yr old treaty with Belgium to jump in war

ANSWER : Austro-Hungarian Empire attacked Serbia for the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife at Sarajevo on 28 June,1914 and a month later the World War 1 began.

3. Germany 🇩🇪 gives Blank check to Austro-Hungarian Empire in the name of Triple Alliance 1882 (between Germany, Austro-Hungarian Empire, Italy 🇮🇹).
4. Russia 🇷🇺 declared war on Germany 🇩🇪
5. France 🇫🇷 declared war on Germany in the name of Triple Entente Treaty 1907(between France, Britain and Russia)
6. Germany marched into Belgium 🇧🇪 en route France.
7. Britain declared war on Germany in the name of Treaty of London, 1839,(between Britain and Belgium)
8. Ottoman Empire attacked Russia for Straits of Dardanelle and tries to capture Suez Canal.
9. Japan 🇯🇵 attacked to the German colonies in China 🇨🇳 in the name of Offensive Defensive Alliance between Britain and Japan.
10. Australia and New Zealand attacked to the Gallipoli by their army named ANZAC.
11. Germany attacked to the Civilian ship 🛳 Lusitania (a Britain ship, Europe to USA), 1200 Civilian died, including Americans
12. after this incident USA 🇺🇸 also joins World War-1 against Germany in 1917.

I am 67 and once competed for civil services. One of the lower optional was European History, and I opted for this. I fared very poor. The basic reason was that I was a student of physics and geology and the books available then were not so lucid as your lectures are. Not only that, it very important to know Ottomans because knowing Ottomans one cannot understand European History. My knowledge sky rocketed. Thanks. Keep the series open.
