I feel like this song is about a guy who is so in love with this girl that he is going to commit suicide but take his lovers life as well , or try to get her to take hers like romeo and Juliette and their souls will be together forever.
I'm pretty sure it's about zombies. some of the lyrics suggest it, like "French braids demonic art The dead come alive", "White stones of hollow eyes Death comes you better hide". and many more support the theory such as these. "Fall comes a loaded gun Black ties for everyone" Guns are the most popular weapon for killing zombies and black ties suggest a funeral. "What do you fear, my love? Your soul it will float like a dove" It's as if it's saying don't be afraid it won't be you anymore.

But I checked Google to see if he sings Friends or Friend. I think it's FriendS To my horror, some sites have the lyrics as "ARE YOU scared of the dark my friends" as opposed to "I'M scared of the dark my friends". I listened back and it could be either. Which is it? Can anyone check the CD notes please. It's only available on mp3/aac so I can't go out and buy it.
