I find it sad that only a few people really like Christopher, he was the guy that reintroduced Doctor Who after a long "break". He was my first Doctor and he'll always have a special place in my heart!
I started watching as a young kid in the 60's & was scared of William Hartnell. Loved Tom Baker ...probably reruns in the mid 70's at uni. Wished Paul McGann had more screen time (loved him in Night of the Doctor) But I think Chis is my favourite. All that anticipation, waiting to see if Russell could pull of the come back and waiting with jitters & then he took Rose's hand & said run. Awesome love 10 & 11 too.
Just imagine, Neil got to see all of Patrick Troughton's episodes before the BBC purge. That means he watched every second of Power of the Daleks in its original unaltered, undeleted glory. I wonder how that assembly line scene looked.
That almost makes me feel like strapping him to a table and seeing what memories we could extract. He's just a hair older than me, but I have little recall of the Troughton years.
I adore how manically insane Gaiman's episodes are - and it is all because he wants everything in his episode - all the Doctor Who shenanigans - and wants to make them stand out - and that they do for me! He's amazing at the mix between genuinely scary and the comedy side of the show.
Seems like a really nice fellow. On a side note, trying to not sound like the Gaiman fan that I am. I'm really glad when I see a writer that loves the material so much put together an episode of a show. Well done!
Neil, "The Doctor's wife" meant a whole lot to me. You gave the Doctor's oldest companion a voice, and a face. To me your writing of that episode was something more than just another episode.
The Doctors Wife was a perfect episode. Everything he described that he wanted to make me feel, I felt. I loved how he gave the TARDIS a face, a personality, and finally told us what really happened and how the doctor and the TARDIS perceived eachother.
The Graveyard Book was my summer reading book for freshman year. And then I found the Neil Gaiman episode of Doctor Who. I love his style so much. It would be a dream to write an episode.
Gaiman's episode was AMAZING! He did all the things he said he wanted to do in this interview, and just in 45 minutes. Best episode of series 6 so far! Also, I'm so happy for Charlie (and a little (VERY) jealous!) that he gets to do all these Doctor Who-things, because I know he's such a big fan!
Matt Smith is my Doctor. I really loved Neil's episode and I think he archived all he wanted with this episode. And his dinner seemed very amusing, what he said was just so sweet :)
Listening to Neil's list of what he wanted to write...he nailed every single one in "The Doctor's Wife": there were scary bits (the chase through House!TARDIS), funny bits ("Bunk beds are cool! A bed with a ladder!"), exciting chase-y bits (again, chase through House!TARDIS), bits that made you cry ("Hello, Doctor. It's so very, very nice to meet you."), being happy while you cry (DOCTOR/TARDIS IS ENDGAME), and things that you've never seen on Doctor Who before (TARDIS as a lady!).
I met Neil when I went to see Amanda Palmer. He just casually walked into the room and returned my shy wave. He was so, so, so lovely, it was a true honour to meet him. I actually felt more ecstatic meeting him than I did Amanda, it makes me feel a bit guilty! But anyway he signed my drumstick and gave me a hug and we had a short conversation but I can't remember what was said, I was too awestruck >.< He should take over from Moffat.
That's the thing about the different Doctors. Everyone's favourite Doctor is usually the one they saw first. I was introduced to Doctor Who with Matt Smith. He is my favourite Doctor. It's because whatever actor is your favourite, you love him the most because he's the reason you fell in love with the show.
So I'm quite new to the Doctor Who fandom and I'm only on series 3 and haven't seen Matt Smith yet, but that short clip just made me look forward to seeing him as the Doctor! :D
It's true when they say your first doctor will always be YOUR doctor. Matt Smith is most definitely my doctor forever and a day! And I absolutely loved the words that Matt Gaiman put in his mouth. ;D
I love doctor who. The first doctor i saw was the 9th but my favourite doctor will always be matt. It was funny today that a old man who was 50, stopped in a shopping centre to tell me that he liked my dalek shirt.
Did anyone notice how Charlies eyes were glossed over in admiration the whole time Neil was talking to him C: Love Neil Gaimen, he made an Awesome episode!
That is no thing to hate. That twist in the episode was an ingenious move. It really showed the dark tone of The Doctor, and you understood that The Doctor had lived through so much that this was what he'll become without a companion.
My Doctor is Matt Smith, but my first Doctor was Christopher Eccleston. And it actually took me quite a while to be sure that Matt was my Doctor, because I really love David Tennant... The thing is, I really love the three Doctors I've watched, and I see all of them as the Doctor, and not only as some guy playing the character, but Matt... I don't know, his Doctor is so lively and adorable, and so sad at the same time. I couldn't help it, I fell in love with him.
Matt was my favourite Doctor as a kid but David Tennant is very much my Doctor. When Matt came along he was a brilliant actor playing the Doctor but David Tennant really was just the one and only Doctor for me.
this episode of doctor who has been my favourite episode since it came back in 2005 it's absolutely perfect! iwould have loved to see the swimming pool!
I love that we can see the two different Charlies in this video. You can see his confident "I'm-in-a-room-by-myself-and-if-I-cock-up-I-can-redo-it" side and you can also se his adorable nervous awkward side. :D
My doctor was Sylvester McCoy, because I had found tapes of Happiness Patrol as a Child. I once read that Moffett Jokingly mentioned KandyMan's return, Do Want.
That episode certainly did all that he said he wanted it to, for me anyway. I laughed, I cried, and there were times I didn't even know what I was doing. :D
Charlie and Neil! Neil and Charlie!! Nerdgasm, right there. :D (Though I wonder wen that was shot, 'cause Charlie's hair doesn't look like that anymore.)
I find it sad that only a few people really like Christopher, he was the guy that reintroduced Doctor Who after a long "break". He was my first Doctor and he'll always have a special place in my heart!
Marlee Hauber Chris was my first Doctor. But he wasn’t my doctor. I loved David but still he want my doctor. Matt is mine.
I started watching as a young kid in the 60's & was scared of William Hartnell. Loved Tom Baker ...probably reruns in the mid 70's at uni. "I want it to make you cry. And I want it to make you happy even though you're crying."
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
I almost choked on my bread when I saw Neil Gaiman's name in the credits
Just imagine, Neil got to see all of Patrick Troughton's episodes before the BBC purge. That means he watched every second of Power of the Daleks in its original unaltered, undeleted glory.
I wonder how that assembly line scene looked.

Neil Gaiman, please write more episodes?

aw bless! charlie's in geek heaven. just knew he'd end up on tv.
One of my favourite writers interviewed by one of my favourite youtubers about one of my favourite tv shows. This must be my lucky day.
That was awesome! Well done, Charlie!
Neil Gaiman should one day be the head writer for doctor who if they ever have an arc which leans in the fantasy or fairy tale genre
You see that look in Charlie's eyes at the end there? He was DYING to hug Neil Gaiman!
I had all of those feelings in Neil's episode
This combines 3 of my favorite things into 7 wonderful minutes. Dr.Who, Neil Gaiman, and Charlie. AH!
David Tennant is my Doctor too! I do like Matt, but I don't think anyone can portray The Doctor like David :-)
Two amazing people together makes me happy.
Matt Smith is my Doctor.
I really loved Neil's episode and I think he archived all he wanted with this episode.
And his dinner seemed very amusing, what he said was just so sweet :)
My two favourite bloggers in one place. Awesome.
Neil Gaiman is my hero, and i have all his books / comics and a vast collection of works he worked on in part. I am very envious...
i really liked that episode
You are so lucky. And you got to see the inside of the old tardis! The one I like because it was 9 and 10's! Lucky...
Listening to Neil's list of what he wanted to write...he nailed every single one in "The Doctor's Wife": there were scary bits (the chase through House!TARDIS), funny bits ("Bunk beds are cool! Awesome, it's one of my favourite youtubers interviewing my favourite author about one of my favourite shows!

Neil Gaiman is my favourite person who is a writer.
"Let's have dinner"
...Well, now we know where that came from ;)
It's true when they say your first doctor will always be YOUR doctor. Matt Smith is most definitely my doctor forever and a day! And I absolutely loved the words that Matt Gaiman put in his mouth. ;D
Neil's episode did exactly what he wanted it to do. He is amazing and that episode is in my top 2 favorites :D hi Charlieburg!
"I want it to have everything."
Well, it did, Neil. It was brilliant.
I love doctor who. The first doctor i saw was the 9th but my favourite doctor will always be matt. It was funny today that a old man who was 50, stopped in a shopping centre to tell me that he liked my dalek shirt.
He wrote one of the best episodes of Doctor Who. So good.
I've met Neil Gaiman, but I was young at the time and I didn't even realise how great he is, and didn't get an autograph. Regretted it ever since.
Did anyone notice how Charlies eyes were glossed over in admiration the whole time Neil was talking to him C: Love Neil Gaimen, he made an Awesome episode!
Neil is legendary, so jealous! Glad that Charlie got to do this though.
That is no thing to hate. That twist in the episode was an ingenious move. It really showed the dark tone of The Doctor, and you understood that The Doctor had lived through so much that this was what he'll become without a companion.
TWO OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE ON MY FAVORITE SHOW NO WAY
Can't wait for Gaiman's episode in season 7.

I'm fangirling inside, outside, and in the void that's in between.
Charlie is visibly adorably nervous and taken by Neil. Awesome Interview :).
i love charlie so much :D :D i wish i had oppertunities like these....
Matt was my favourite Doctor as a kid but David Tennant is very much my Doctor. When Matt came along he was a brilliant actor playing the Doctor but David Tennant really was just the one and only Doctor for me.
this episode of doctor who has been my favourite episode since it came back in 2005 it's absolutely perfect!

i love that he wrote coraline :)
Charlie should write an episode!
Matt Smith is actually my doctor. He is defintiely my favourite docor that i've seen yet.
I love that we can see the two different Charlies in this video. You can see his confident "I'm-in-a-room-by-myself-and-if-I-cock-up-I-can-redo-it" side and you can also se his adorable nervous awkward side. :D
Also, Neil's checklist of things he wanted with his episode: Success on all fronts.
Nine/Christopher Eccleston will always be MY Doctor...He was my first Doctor ever, so he's always going to be special to me.
Hahaha, I love Neil's and Charlie's crazy hair!
My doctor was Sylvester McCoy, because I had found tapes of Happiness Patrol as a Child.
I once read that Moffett Jokingly mentioned KandyMan's return, Do Want.
close enough... welcome back oli sykes
Took me a while to warm up to Troughton myself, but when I did at last, I was mad for him. Troughton rocks
he is amazing!
The doctors wife was by far the best episode of doctor who ever!
oh my god i love charlie
One of the difficulties with the swimmingpool thing was in fact that Karen Gillan can not swim. To Neil Gaiman, it's my favorite episode :)
In the Tardis with Neil Gaiman... That's quality time
Matt is DEFO my doctor :P
Love that man
I can see charlie as the doctor!
I just realized now that Charlie knew all the spoilers from Neil's episode last winter, aww xD
That episode certainly did all that he said he wanted it to, for me anyway. I laughed, I cried, and there were times I didn't even know what I was doing. :D
i love neil.but seriously.he's amazeballs
So....much....amazing.
I had no idea he wrote that episode no wonder why i iked it so much
This episode is the one that I just watched on netflix.
Neil's episodes are cool :)

You should be proud of that, hell yes!
As much as I love Neil Gaiman, there was an episode with corridors, and a lot of stairs...with Leela when she swan in the pool!
I'm fangirling inside.
PLEASE ask Neil to come back. I beg you.
I lost it at the "Let's have dinner" bit.
I´m not dead. Let´s have dinner. NG
Charlie and Neil! Neil and Charlie!! Nerdgasm, right there. :D
(Though I wonder wen that was shot, 'cause Charlie's hair doesn't look like that anymore.)
I loved "The Doctor's Wife." One of my favourites. "Hello, I'm Sexy." Amazing!
More charlie on confidential please :)

"Now Neil Gaiman's hair is amazing. And that's all I have to say to preface this clip."
CHARLIE
its like a birthday present 3 things I love in one video!
I will now be forever sad that they didn't get to shoot the scene in the Zero Room D:
I came for Neil Gaiman, then Charlie was here. DAY MADE!
I'm such a fan of Neil Gaiman.
Whooo Charlie!!
Does this mean the BBC knows about Chameleon Circuit?
Hand on... is that where Steven Moffat got the 'lets have dinner' idea for Sherlock!
