The irony here, is that Chris Tarrant is sitting in the very same dubbing booth, as you see on screen, that shows someone else in it, doing the same thing but for a different schools programme!
There was an episode called “Making the Titles for a TV Film” which was only shown once (well, twice with the encore broadcast) in January 1987. It showed how they made the All Year Round titles with the chick hatching, the sandcastle, conker falling etc (which is only briefly touched upon in this film). I don’t suppose you have it? It seems very rare!
Now that's an episode I would like to see, I saw it listed on the Broadcast for Schools website a while back, I don't even remember seeing that episode at the time and not sure why I did not even recored it at the time either, I seemed to miss a few out.
I’m very surprised that episode was never repeated. Very few episodes were only shown once, and normally this was because an updated version was made only a year or so later. However, no similar episode appeared in this case. I assume when they made the “Making a TV FIlm” episode, they filmed a lot of footage of the titles being made that didn’t make it into the episode, so made the “Titles” episode as an afterthought. Shame it ended up only getting one transmission as it was very interesting.
You would of thought they with them being more involved in the programme like behind the scenes, they would of been keen to run it a few times. Let's hope someone has this episode and uploads it on YT
A glimpse of TV production as it was in those days. Aimed at 7 yr olds, it's quite informative.

They use the same studios
Now that was a good one!
Now I know clapperboards help sync sound and film. Never knew that.🎥🎞🎬📺
