I wonder if it's going to be permanent or temporary. I cannot see them carrying on this storyline for a long time because Max can hear and all the actors would have to learn and become fluent in sign language.
@@ginaf4085 Why? He can lip read and speak so only a couple of characters would likely learn sign language. I imagine the world would be a kinder place to deaf people if everyone in their circle (friends, family and work) went out of their way to learn sign language but it doesn't happen.
That message in today episode “I need you” to Callum it shows that he really misses Callum but also he is worried and concerned over his hearing but he doesn’t show it I can’t wait for them just to be happy and settled down

Frankie(deaf in real life too) will help Ben out as hes struggles to cope, she's going to communicate through sign language . They are working with a charity for this storyline. This is not temporary.

Soulless Husk he doesn’t act like he does at all. Curious. I kinda think he’s not aware cause he was so out of it on the dock. Also he hasn’t said anything about it. He’s still acting like nothing has happened (besides his hearing being messed up) and he’s just back to searching for Callum like he was pre boat.
Seems Ben already got his comeuppance for all the stuff he got involved in, with Phil and Keanu. After he hopefully gets Callum back, he needs to do some serious self-reflection.
Try being someone with acute hearing loss. The point of the audio change was to show viewers what sudden hearing loss is like from the point of view of the person suffering from it.

Ben was born partially deaf, so his deafness is respecting the history of the character.

so has ben always been deaf and had a hearing aid
He was partially deaf in one ear since childhood but his hearing aid helped. The head injury has caused further hearing loss in his good ear.
I think it will be okay in the end bcs they know loads of people wont only be sad if he dies but they will be superrrr angry
