I think the change in tempo is also supposed to mirror the uncertainty and unsteadiness that EXO are feeling within the storyline in the MV. That is why SM is known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. And EXO is a perfect example of that. As you are starting to discover, everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything, is connected in some way to their concept and storyline. EXO's MVs are kind of like a movie -- it's a movie that has been going on for the past 10 years -- since predebut -- and it has no sign of coming to an end any time soon. The one thing you have to keep in mind with all of EXO's MVs, and I really mean all of them -- including their sub-sub-unit MVs and a majority of the member's solo MVs. And because Baekhyun and Kai are involved, even SuperM's storyline -- is that they are all connected and they all tell a little more of EXO's story. The group's concept comes from the real term exoplanet, which is a term that is used for a planet that is outside our solar system, so their name was chosen to represent the fact that they are stars that are "out of this world" when it comes to their talents. SM Entertainment has all of EXO's release dates and concepts planned out for years in advance, and it is all designed to be another chapter in EXO's story. The aesthetic of the "Tempo" MV is centered around the color red because the setting is supposed to be depicting the members under the Red Forces' control. Without going into too much detail -- there is so much going on in EXO's "Tempo" MV that it's hard to grasp it all -- what fan theories think is happening in "Tempo" is it is showing the members of EXO all trapped in separate dimensions. Each of those rooms, could possibly be a different dimension and that is why you see the glitches and why you hear Xiumin and Baekhyun with that computerized voice, because they aren't all in the same place at the same time, so their voices are being distorted as they try to connect between dimensions, etc. They also still could be trapped in different rooms within the maze, like what we saw them in their "Overdose" MV. For several of EXO's MVs we believe they are still trapped within the maze and they are continuously trying to find their way out. The maze seems to affect their connection to their powers and it clouds their minds and dulls their senses, so not only are they fighting the Red Force and X-EXO, but they are also struggling to break free from the fog the Red Force has them in. That's why you see some of the members just lazily sitting around and kind of blankly staring off into space at times. Baekhyun is the one that is singled out in the MV and he is the one standing above everything looking down, so this is one example of where we think that maybe he is the only one who has avoided the Red Force's control and he is observing everything that is going on from the outside. You see Chanyeol -- main rapper -- being interrogated by Chen with the inkblot test and that is thought to be the members trying to figure out who are the real EXO members and who are the evil X-EXO members created by the Red Force -- or who are the real members and who are the clones. At this point everyone is suspicious of each other and no one can be trusted. As you may have noticed, halfway through the MV Chanyeol's eyes and hair change color, so some think that this is either showing two different versions of Chanyeol who appear in two different time periods or dimensions, or one is Chanyeol the EXO member and one is Chanyeol the X-EXO clone. Often, when you see a character in one of SM's MVs with blue eyes or different eye colors this usually means they are not who they appear to be. The "Chess game" is thought to be supernatural EXO chess, and I don't think it's a game they are playing, but I think maybe it's something they are using to try to decipher a clue or figure out a way out of wherever the Red Force has them trapped at the moment. It's unclear right now what that scene is really telling us, but I have a feeling things will become clearer in the future as more of EXO's storyline is unveiled in future MVs and as SM's SM Culture Universe storyline continues to evolve. You also see Sehun -- main rapper -- on the motorcycle in this MV, which I now think is connected to the scene where we see him driving a motorcycle in EXO's "Lightsaber" MV and sitting on the motorcycle in their new "Don't Fight the Feeling" MV. In the very last scene, that is Baekhyun with that cube. I am not sure what that means, but I am sure it's foreshadowing something to come in the future with EXO's storyline. EXO's Chinese member, Lay, is in this MV, but you won't see or hear him sing or dance because you watched the Korean version, and at this time, because of the political issues between China and Korea, the Chinese government only gave him permission to appear in the Korean version of "Tempo", but he wasn't allowed to participate in the song. If you want to hear Lay sing you will have to watch the Mandarin version. Nothing in this MV is random or done just because, even the smallest of detail has been planned out to either connect to something to do with EXO's storyline from past MVs or it will become a key part to help explain something in one of their future MVs.

I'll choose three with totally different sounds: - Ko Ko Bop - Universe - Monster Also, EXO is pronounced as one word since it comes from the word exoplanet - a planet outside our solar system, the guys do sometimes have E-X-O in the lyrics of the songs though :P They are a 9 member group, but you'll see a different amount of members and there are many reasons for that. I'm mentioning this in case you'll be confused in the future. Each member has a distinct voice which is probably what I love the most about the group :P and each one of them does something different for their solo releases too

I totally agree with your comments! They are so different than anyone I’ve heard before. Their vocals & variations of melodies are exquisite! They are also one of the very few artists whom I prefer to listen to live vs a studio recording (even with outstanding post-production). They are AMAZING live performers! I can recommend all hahha especially the wolf remix live. Everything they do are always spectacular and true enough you can not get to this level of creativity if you are a bad singer. what hooked me into exo were probably the cords int heir popular songs. My first and still most favorite song was Overdose, and the synth and cord there are soooo my type. That's the reason I also love Monster, Tempo and Obsession
Adrian Mckinnon composed this song and I have to say he is one of my favorite composers. If you like the 'back and forth' like two sounds combined I would recommend One (Monster and Infinity) by SuperM. It's not EXO but the group has a couple of EXO members in it and I would be curious to see how you like the actual combination of two songs into one.

In the very last scene, that is Baekhyun with that cube. I am not sure what that means, but I am sure it's foreshadowing something to come in the future with EXO's storyline.
EXO's Chinese member, Lay, is in this MV, but you won't see or hear him sing or dance because you watched the Korean version, and at this time, because of the political issues between China and Korea, the Chinese government only gave him permission to appear in the Korean version of "Tempo", but he wasn't allowed to participate in the song. If you want to hear Lay sing you will have to watch the Mandarin version.
Nothing in this MV is random or done just because, even the smallest of detail has been planned out to either connect to something to do with EXO's storyline from past MVs or it will become a key part to help explain something in one of their future MVs.

Their live performances are actually better than studio version. The reason why i love EXO is that they have amazing vocals (as a singer should be), and they don’t do things on trend. They set trends…🤍

You may also check on his other labelmates’ new released also like NCT DREAM’s GLITCH MODE; Red Velvet’s Feel My Rhythm and Wildside and ONEW’s Dice. There is also Super Junior. You will definitely get overwhelmed by the back to back releases this 2022. 😊

Also, EXO is pronounced as one word since it comes from the word exoplanet - a planet outside our solar system, the guys do sometimes have E-X-O in the lyrics of the songs though :P
They are a 9 member group, but you'll see a different amount of members and there are many reasons for that. I'm mentioning this in case you'll be confused in the future.
Each member has a distinct voice which is probably what I love the most about the group :P and each one of them does something different for their solo releases too

The producer of this song made a confession that there are so many companies courting him, asking if he could produce another Tempo-like music but he refused because (1) it was an experimental music (2) only EXO can pull that kind of music (3) he can't create another Tempo because that's the best music he made so far as we speak.

Adrian Mckinnon composed this song and I have to say he is one of my favorite composers. If you like the 'back and forth' like two sounds combined I would recommend One (Monster and Infinity) by SuperM. It's not EXO but the group has a couple of EXO members in it and I would be curious to see how you like the actual combination of two songs into one.
EXO songs are just perfect, but actually I would like to recommend Obsession.
