These comments. 🙄 You can tell that I reign from a softer generation when a man who is visibly in pain following the loss of both his youngest daughter, and his wife of more than 30 years, upsets them by simply being ornery. He's a 72 year old man experiencing a level of grief that no human should endure at that stage in life. Not to mention, he survived a 540' foot fall down the Ajax mountainside, in which he survived by quite literally holding his own skull together. Of course he's going to seem a little incoherent and/or irrational. The fact that Bobby Bones almost instantly showed his hand when displaying his lack of knowledge of Hank Williams, Jr. is laughable enough. From mistaking a Hank Williams Sr. song as a Jr. original, to not knowing that one of Hank's most recognizable songs of all time is still performed in concert. Hank knows his audience, and neither Bobby Bones or those who listen to him are his fan base. This show is for the bedazzled skinny jean Luke Bryan crowd, and that is painfully obvious. "Rich White Honky Blues" is an album for the diehard listener, not the casual Walmart cowboy who thinks a lifted mall crawler of a pickup truck and some cheap water down beer makes them "country."

Hank is a very good person but This interview was harsh. He shouldn’t make Bocephus re live his trauma from the mountain. No wonder he wanted to walk out. Bobby do better.
Hank is Bocephus and the Greatest. You put on Hank, you light up the room and get people smiling. I’d love to meet him one day. Maybe cook a pig and have him join us. 👍🏻
Grew up on Hank and fired up to see his show this Saturday!! He is a legend!! I have never met the man but I bet he is much different if speaking to him one on one. He is real, and would probably rather be fishing or picking than sitting in another interview.
If I were to do an interview with Hank Jr, aka Thunderhead Hawkins, aka Bocupheous I damn sure wouldn't start it off the way Bobby Bones did especially with how much of a fan I am and how much this man's music has helped me through the darkest and roughest moments of my life I almost guarantee that he wouldn't have wanted to walk out if I conducted the interview
Couldn't agree more. His nicest period was when he mentioned tear in my beer. When hank talks to real country folks or just people with soul who want to talk about the music he loves, the guy gives a good interview. The 'country radio' host who sounds like he's from LA, showed virtually no reverence to a Giant amongst Giants. The ash tray should have been out so he could smoke his cigar. Start off with some good old fashioned praise, for what a legend you have gifting you with his time! And then have some actual music based questions. Not "what song are you most famous for"... Bones did everything wrong.
@@CB099he really did! He could have had it where Hank could have smoked his cigar and truly gave him his roses for being one of the greatest of the greats. Yet Bobby fumbled it and was so clueless.
The song All in Alabama is great one of my fav’s of anyone not just his. It’s off the album Habits Old & New I bought it at his gift shop in Tennessee the lady told me that’s a good one there. I knew it was that’s why I bought it I liked to wore it out.
After watching this, I was surprised Hank Jr didn’t get up and leave sooner. Bobby Bones was being a smart ass towards him and Hank Jr’s patience with it impressed me.
That new album of Hanks sure has some beatin' heart in it! Go give it a listen. After that I had to que up " you can't judge a book" New memories folks
I know every Hank Williams song,Senior and Junior, that’s ever been recorded.Heck,I even had Hank Jr’s first album,a house fire in 1993 got most of my records, but the oldest Jr I have that survived is the album from the movie “Your Cheating Heart “.Hank Jr can do it all,and has done it all. He’s worked his ass off in spite of what some folks think.
I have what I believe is his first recorded piece of music, "Long Gone Lonesome Blues" released on a 45 rpm single on the MGM label. I bought it in 1964 at Thrifty Drugs in Long Beach, California for 98c and couldn't wait for more music like it to follow. Unfortunately, none did. Subsequently, I bought the movie sound track album "Your Cheatin' Heart". My favorite cut is HWJr singing a partial rendition of "I Saw The Light", my # 1 favorite HWSr song. What happened to Hank Jr. after that I couldn't say, but his image and voice just deteriorated when he returned to music full time.
I love Mr. Hank Jr. I’m 44 but I’m an old school county fan….The only newer county artists I like are Chris Stapleton and Tyler Childers. I admit I don’t have a clue who this guy Bobby Bones is but it’s clear he is not very knowledgeable on Mr. Hank Jr. and as for Hank being an asshole….aren’t we all sometimes assholes? Hank has been on my mind a lot lately especially since the passing of his wife Mary Jane. Hank and his family were already grieving the loss of his youngest daughter Katie. My heart truly aches for them all. For anyone not familiar with Hank Jr’s earlier work that often gets overlooked you need to check it out. It’s some of his best music IMO.
Hank and Bobby are complete opposite’s, Hank is real old school country rock, Bobby is a nice guy but he is not country like the old school guys! I knew this was going to be oil and water when I heard Hank was going to be on here which I was surprised he agreed to be on this show to start with!
Hank Jr. himself is a man that is setting his ways in country music ,he is one of the few founders of prime country though some don't understand Hank Jr. Well he's a diffrent breed of country music he tells it honest from the heart not like Jason Aldean having record executive giving him a song to do mainly 90% of all Hank Williams Jr. Songs are wrote by the man we all know as "Rockin" Randall Hank "Bocephus" Williams Jr. know you're country music before saying anything because I grew up on 70's -90's country having Soul and Heartfelt passion and had a meaning to it
Love Hank, Jr's music, saw him in concert 3 times in my 20's. He is a super talented man but always so sort of hostile it seems, still love his music always.
I truly envy you got to see hank back In the day. I’m 28 and was always called an old soul, when it came to music especially. love hank jr. Finally am able to see him live on the 25 so excited
My thoughts are he’s going through a lot personally. With the sudden loss of his daughter and then his wife, that has to be almost too much to bare. I feel for him.
I wonder if the accident saved his life from the fast pace of living on the road? Hank is fit to be tied, lol! Hole in my bucket, Man of Steel! Hank has seen the light! You want the best out of Hank then you go to Hank's world! The man has lived, seen, and been through it all! He is, was, and will ever be free of any bs on HIS terms, this is what we call freedom. I lost my brothers in 2008 and met Hank he wrote my mom and dad a touching letter about his father Hank Williams Sr. I met him in a tackle store when I walked up to him and I politely introduced myself to him and said thank you for doing that he immediately talked and opened up he remember the letter and hugged me.
I will be there also Saturday night to see him in Simpsonville South Carolina!!
It should be a great show and I'm looking forward to it!!
Dang this was a fantastic interview with Hank Jr.!! Will never be another like him...#legend
Thank goodness for that
@@glennmiller2494 Ah yes do we have a good little Joe Biden loving gun banning clown trying to get a jab in?
Yes he is
@@glennmiller2494 huh?
Well, there is a good reason most of us never heard of the Bobby Bones show. The guy interviews like a complete asshole.
A true Legend. America will never be the same when his generation is gone.
Good job Hank Jr, you are a supreme guy! Thanks for never sugar coating and being real.
I saw Hank Jr. in concert back in 2006 and that was a fun time. Hell of a talent and entertaining.
I grew up listening to his dad's music and his music he should make more music
Hopkins, Bocephus
And why just talk about it? Anyone can have an interview platform today. If you’re great, you can make it. Get started on TH-cam now!
That right there is why I've been a hank jr fan since I was my son's ages ... 👊
he has told this story for decades if that is what you mean by "opens up".
Loves to talk about himself, his friends, and his daddy.
true but this young guy i doubt can name another song of his so maybe he hasn't heard it before
HANK JR IS ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITES !
This guy is real, honest and a treasure.
He's not here for anyone's BS. ❤
1 of the greatest to ever do it much respect forever
I follow Hank Jr. no matter who interviews him. Hank always comes out on top.
I love Jr, hes exactly like every other musician you meet. They're all a touch crazy.
I haven't seen Ole Hank in years! I have to say, "he's aging well. Like a fine wine." As we say in SC lol
What!? "Thunderfart" was being an asshole! Bones didn't say nothing out of line Jr was acting like a "superstar"! Get real dude!
Jack ~'()'~
Bobby has no clue about hank
A typical asshole lapdog punk period, Hank should have left and not waste anytime with this punk.
And Bobby isn't any equal either. He's more like a pest.
@@chickey333 Bobby is a little woke. Skinny Jean. Telsa driving dude. He don’t know hank. Or his songs.
We love you Hank keep on singing🥰
There's only one Hank Williams Jr. I'm not sure we could handle another one.
Hank Jr. A legend in his own mind. Love it love him king of country music
Hank is awesome he's like I said some shit that's true I'm out. Love that new album I ain't heard blues like that in a long time.
I grew up almost all this man concerts thanks 🙏 Hank
That new album of Hanks sure has some beatin' heart in it!
Go give it a listen. After that I had to que up " you can't judge a book"
New memories folks
if it will it will Thats what got me listening to HANK back when i was 5 . god bless all the hank's
Hank is cracking me up 🤣, GOAT!
Love Hank Jr one all time of all time greatest would love to meet him
been listen to this guy since 1989
True artists are hard to find, but they are still out there.
What about Hank 3? Check it out
I have what I believe is his first recorded piece of music, "Long Gone Lonesome Blues" released on a 45 rpm single on the MGM label.
Well I gotta say the Legend Hank. Bobby stood right with him.
I love Mr.
I agree. I’m a big fan of his 70s and 80s music. His 70s music was gritty, and I loved it.
Glad to see you,for sure missed, now that o see you.Just didn't know till i heard you speak, for your Real!!! Praise God🎶🎶🎶🎶🙃😁👍🇱🇷🇱🇷❤❤
Hank and Bobby are complete opposite’s, Hank is real old school country rock, Bobby is a nice guy but he is not country like the old school guys! I knew this was going to be oil and water when I heard Hank was going to be on here which I was surprised he agreed to be on this show to start with!
my same feelings. bocephus is old outlaw country and Bobby bones is new bubble gum country
@@theredneckshow6126 true
I could not agree more? Hank does not take no jive from some preppy looking country? Bumpkin.
This is why I’ve loved Hank for so long. He don’t beat around the bush. Say it like it is. This country needs more of that right now.
Hell yeah Hank ! Thanks for the backdrop on your influence
all in alabama feelin better dinosaur some of the best never released as a single
Absolutely ! Love American Way too !
What a legend so much respect for Dan hanging with the icon
Love hank seeing him this month in SC absolutely excited
Hank Jr. himself is a man that is setting his ways in country music ,he is one of the few founders of prime country though some don't understand Hank Jr.
He's been that way for a while now. Honestly, I just don't think he gives a damn about anything or anyone lol
I truly envy you got to see hank back In the day. I’m 28 and was always called an old soul, when it came to music especially. love hank jr. Finally am able to see him live on the 25 so excited
Yeah Hank is incredibly off-putting in interviews. This one is slightly worse than his normal interviews.
My thoughts are he’s going through a lot personally. With the sudden loss of his daughter and then his wife, that has to be almost too much to bare. I feel for him.
No he has always been kind of a jerk interviews, always. Like I said, I am a fan of his talent but as a person not so much
Got to see Hank Jr on the 13th of May, 2023!! Orange Beach, AL. It was awesome!!
I would love to sip some jars with Hank up in that Montana/Idaho or Tennessee mountain land!
I'm feeling better now that I'm back on the road getting into is literally one of the best songs Hall in Alabama is one of my favorite ones
Priceless interview!
Amo Hank! Bellissimo video.. 😊😍😘🎸💘❤️💋💯🌄🍀
Hank is the man!
At least his concerts are good. I saw him in ‘79, ‘80, and around 2009. I’m due for another. 🎵🙂🎸
The ultimate legend 🙌
imagine a family line where talent in music is this genetic. Hank III is great, IV is coming up and he's got it too.
We can wish, but don't be so sure. Hank Sr. had genuine talent. Hank Jr. just scribbles and complains about how shit happens in his wasted life.
I remember the day it came over the radio about Hank falling off of that mountain. I was four years old.
You may have been 4 but you don't remember it on the radio.
@@tray-oq1nj I most certainly do.
@tray4168 ha ha You didn’t know people can remember things from when they were four?
@@acp865 I have trouble remembering yesterday, definitely can't remember 1974 when I was 4.
@@tray-oq1nj You can’t remember it, that doesn’t mean other people can’t remember it
Love u Hank jr. U know where it comes from. People listen!
