Generally we do like to stare at people, but I think in your case it is also because you are so good looking. You are 100% right about customer care in Poland. There is a room for improvement. It drives me nuts and I'm a Pole. In Poland wearing a hat at the table is considered very bad manners.
11:00 As a Polish person who lived in the Netherlends for half year, I can tell that you're right about our customer service. In the Netherlands, maybe not all clerks were smiling and full of that "seller optimism", but they were damn fast. Also people in the queue were packing their goods while the clerk was scanning them, and they also rushed as hell with that, I could never keep up! And if it goes about Poland, no one's hurrying, there's no rush - if you're buying stuff it means, that you're after work and you have time... Also our Polish clerks don't hurry anywhere, simply cuz this kind of work is in Poland seen as "under prestige job", and if you say to your symphaty that you work as a clerk (especially as a man - provider for a family) you could be treated not seriously. PS: Keep in mind that there's a difference with customer service in different economic sectors. CS in Poland in grocieries is bad - that's true, but CS in RTV/AGD shops is on a high level usually, in banks, in insurance companies etc. Everywhere where people get extra money for provision of that what they sell - wow - I'm curios why are they so motivated, while people in supermarkets don't give a damn ;) ?
Interesting observations. I went travelling on my own to Krakow, Wrocław, Poznan, Warsaw, Bydgoszcz and Gdansk. People were shocked when I told them my favourite place I visited was Bydgoszcz. People were very friendly to me and helpful. I also had good customer service. I live in Scotland I tried to learn Polish on TH-cam before I visited but it is difficult, maybe because of my accent. I don't mind people staring at me to be honest, a guy just told me he liked my shoes?
I live in Poland and never been in Bydgoszcz, lucky you. We have lots of really beautiful small towns. I'm glad you find your favourite place out of this most popular.
Only men should take their hats off indoors. That is only polite and applies to the whole of Europe. I was also stared at in E.Africa not only stared but shouted at " Mzungu wapi fesa" that does not happen in Poland. My experience of African customer service was Maseru post Office. Try that! Quite surprised that you did not know that in Poland everyone speaks Polish. Wishing you the best for the remainder of your stay.
smoking habits isn't nice at all, Poland culture is quite complicated, because there is some habits familiar to everyone, but in the same time you can be free with it and you do what you like and others are tolerant, so there are lots people never drink any alcohol or never smoke etc.
Customer service is one of the worst jobs, and people are usually very overworked and very underpayed, so they do not put their hearts into it - it's not only Polish thing, really. But the post office thing? Oh yeah, 90% of that is an unpleasant experience for all, Polish people too. They just think it's people who exist for the post and not that post exists for people🤷🏻♀️😉.
You right about Customer service here in PL. One of the reason is WAGE/MONEY. People here thinking that, they will not do anything "Special" for client, coz they dont need to, AND the money which they get are a JOKE.
I don't agree. Customer service is just a culture difference. In Poland people don't want to be interrupted, beset, pulled for shopping. Poles in countries where it's normal to behave this way for example in Turkey or Egypt - don't like their "Customer service". They feel abused. In Poland customer service has value when it's based on competences. So, it's more than welcome when someone can advise you in process of buying. But smile has less value.
I’m Polish and I can’t stand smoking and I’m not even able to hang out with smokers because the lingering scent on them makes me sick. I also don’t drink. I live in States, so hearing about my country men being ignorant, yet I know it’s a different kind of “ignorance” then it is in US.
I am Polish living in States and actually you’re right about customer service 👍 maybe because I got used to it how things work in the US🤔 For example no free refills and public toilets are not free 🤨 and also A lot more things I have to get used to it when I am come visiting home Poland 😎👊
I am Polish in last 5 years I visited Gambia and Senegal in total I spent about 12 months in those countries in that 5 years. And believe me u experience much more than You in Poland. It is curiosity that all. U are exotic beauty. Greetings.
Hi, I was used to my father and friends getting together after work drinking/eating/smoking. Poland is what it is, I wouldn't change anything in my country, lied, better wages and more rights for women. You you feel Poland wasn't for you, America would definitely be the place you would love to visit, stay at least a year, you would love it here.
U miss Ur family - thats why U see all the bad things, its natural. This one who told U that Polish language is "simple" is/was crazy. Slavic languages hasent nothing common with latin languages(maybe15-20%) but not in spelling. Im really appreacite of ur work at this yt movie. #1Ur soo honest!!! #2 as other people sais : your beauty :) Cheers from Glasgow
( 1 ) I am always amused in the negative sense of the comments you often find on youtube about how difficult Polish language is. 1 - any language you don't know is difficult. 2 - for everyone for whom Polish language is difficult (I'm not saying it is easy) I recommend to all such people learn to write in Chinese or Japanese ... by way of example ( 2 ) Regarding your comments about the alleged Polish ignorance of English - I am extremely surprised. Poles, against the background of all of Europe, are one of the better-known English speakers. Try to speak English in "tourist" Italy or in Paris ... good luck with that. In Poland, in most places to eat for example you can speak easly in english about everything. That comment suprised me immensly.
I do keep my hat on in Poland. It’s ridiculous. I’m not religious and the pressure by any religion to do something certain way, especially that small and keeping your hat on or off, is scary tbo. I also believe it’s media propaganda and people still doing things out of pressure and fear, not because “we” are so religious.
African lady Where you come from i beat one of this countries come , Malawi, Mozambique, Somalia, South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi East Africa Swahili come from if im not mistake most official english language anyway bye

Yes, don't give in to peer pressure. 😀 Health first ♥️

I am introverted pole a little excentric and they stare at me too... even in Warsaw... even when I think I look totally casual

Google translate and Polish language - it's a joke.
And try to use Google translate between two non-English languages - THAT is a really big joke.
