I think this video is well done. Can I just play it and then know how to play the game in 8 minutes? No! I can't absorb the instructions that fast. But I just hit pause every now and then and look at the components in front of me and once my brain has caught up, I can continue with ease. :)
Well for several reasons: -short game time in comparison to the original (not everyone wants to spend a couple of hours on a board game) -the game is MUCH less complicated ( I could get my wife to play this but probably not the original game where she would be overwhelmed) -it is a more portable option for bringing out with you and play in a public place -it is designed strictly for 2 (knowing Uwe, it is perfectly balanced and it is very tight in terms of placing workers) -it comes with many special buildings ( that make it very much replayable so it never feels the same) -some people hate worrying about feeding people, in this version they don't have to These are just some that come to mind.
@@nedeljkodukic7279 maybe you underestimate your wife? She might love full agricola. Its not that complicated, especially if she already gets agricola ACBAS. It just seems to lack any real tension/anxiety the way standard agricola does.
@@WhatsDaveUpTo oh I agree with you but it certainly isn't for everyone. This game is much less known than the original and if it sells it's possibly because some chose it over the main game. It can also be a gateway game for kids (7-to-9) as intro to main game.

why on earth anyone would want to play this over actual Agricola is mind boggling.
Because this was designed for 2 people and original Agricola should be played with 3 and more people
@@kbegemotHD agricola plays fine with 2 people. it comes with two boards. one for 2 one for 3+
