How on earth were two century vampires ever going to compete with three millennium vampires who started the whole thing? They couldn't, thus Klaus essentially gets what he wants, kills half the cast, the writers keep having to find ways for those cast members to return, they have to keep finding reasons why the Mikaelsons don't just kill everyone, but they can't be killed off and the cycle continued throughout the entirety of season 3.

Their relationship was actually very interesting to me in the beginning and you could see Rebekah slowly warming up to Elena until she stabbed her in the back, and I honestly believe that if she hadn’t, they would have become close and then she felt so hurt because she got betrayed once again. So I honestly believe Rebekah is justified in her feelings towards Elena. And I feel like she is treating Elena in the way she deserves to be treated after treating her family the way she has, and the people she comes to care for/ has cared for in the past.

If Elena’s friends were left out of the loop & the magic of doppelgänger blood was reincarnation magic instead (so she didn’t look like Amara/Tatia/Katherine), no one would dare call her selfish because she wouldn’t dare bring the others into it & neither would the Salvatores. How many times did her ‘friends’ and the Salvatores undermine, override, and ignore her because they decided they knew better and that she was too precious to risk?! Elena was a da*n supernatural pawn in more ways than just the one that stems from the doppelgänger blood running through her veins. She handed herself to Klaus on multiple occasions to protect her friends, she made a deal with Elijah to ensure their protection, she literally died in Matt’s place when she told Stefan to save him first, if it wasn’t for Jeremy she wouldn’t have completed the transition into becoming a vampire, and that’s just touching the surface of the sacrifices she made or attempted in order to protect her loved ones. She wasn’t perfect, she knew it & admitted it multiple times yet her loved ones put her on a pedestal and sacrificed for her of their own volition no matter how hard she opposed it and the guilt she carried with her as a result (a guilt her loved ones never saw let alone acknowledged). She was in a bad head space before it all went to hell in a hand basket, so much so I’d consider her depressed and neigh suicidal yet she kept fighting for everyone else’s sake… that’s so far from selfish…

I love the contrast in rebekahs interactions with Elena and Katherine. With Elena, she feared Rebecca and was easily owned by her. With Katherine, she was insecure, jealous, and was always on the losing end. I felt like a lot of Rebeccas aggression towards Elena had to do with her looking like katherine

Actually Klaus compelling Stefan to turn of his humanity is what ruined that relationship and basically drove her into Damon’s arms(and bed). Elena didn’t give up on Stefan for a long time
Their relationship was actually very interesting to me in the beginning and you could see Rebekah slowly warming up to Elena until she stabbed her in the back, and I honestly believe that if she hadn’t, they would have become close and then she felt so hurt because she got betrayed once again. So I honestly believe Rebekah is justified in her feelings towards Elena. And I feel like she is treating Elena in the way she deserves to be treated after treating her family the way she has, and the people she comes to care for/ has cared for in the past.

I think Elena was pretty cool for s1, and a bit of 2, and then she just went fully downhill almost like main character syndrome got to her head. How many times did her ‘friends’ and the Salvatores undermine, override, and ignore her because they decided they knew better and that she was too precious to risk?!
Elena was a da*n supernatural pawn in more ways than just the one that stems from the doppelgänger blood running through her veins.
She handed herself to Klaus on multiple occasions to protect her friends, she made a deal with Elijah to ensure their protection, she literally died in Matt’s place when she told Stefan to save him first, if it wasn’t for Jeremy she wouldn’t have completed the transition into becoming a vampire, and that’s just touching the surface of the sacrifices she made or attempted in order to protect her loved ones. She wasn’t perfect, she knew it & admitted it multiple times yet her loved ones put her on a pedestal and sacrificed for her of their own volition no matter how hard she opposed it and the guilt she carried with her as a result (a guilt her loved ones never saw let alone acknowledged).
She was in a bad head space before it all went to hell in a hand basket, so much so I’d consider her depressed and neigh suicidal yet she kept fighting for everyone else’s sake… that’s so far from selfish…

Before elena killed kol Rebekah endlessly tortured her as revenge for daggering her one time after she killed kol it's justified but before she was just a bully and cruel especially while elena was a human and you'd think that an 1000 year old vampire would at least try to understand why elena daggered her considering that it was reasonable and before she actually daggered her that entire episode Rebekah had proved over and over again that she was a lose cannon and couldn't be trusted
You literally brought up exactly why Rebekah “bullied” elena lol. Rebekah hated being daggered, she had spent 1000 years being daggered by klaus never being able to make her own choices and here comes elena taking her choice away from her naturally she’s pissed and I don’t understand why elena acted like Rebekah didn’t like her for no reason when she would do things to Rebekah.
