  • The process may take you a few minutes, don't use too much force to insert the plastic ring.

very helpful technique in getting the original black rings into my replacement pads! as some others have noted, i took out the clear plastic rings that were in my replacement pads since the original black rings (that lock the pads into place) wouldn't fit otherwise. hope that helps someone!

Thank you, my sennheiser pc350-se ear pads have yet to be changed out after 17 years of service.
The little bit of cushion that was left in them fell out today; I think it is time to replace the padding. :)

You have to remove the clear plastic rings too. They are just for transport stability and will affect sound if you leave them in.

This is plain stupid. Scoured the net to find how to apply the stupid cushions (which I don't buy original, screw greedy SH bastards), only after reading a review in amazon some guy recommended this guide. Searched for it, found some guy who reuploaded, after an hour managed to do it. Thanked the hell out of him, then I hear that sound is a little bit off. Found out the guy effing reuploaded this video, found this original vid. Then I see your comment, removed the bloody plastic thingies, and now I guess all's well.
Maybe there's some magic plastic switch none of us discovered. Really high tech stuff.
Screw that. I feel like I'm in the 80's trying to find paper guides on how to compile something. Shit, half the guys who managed to put those, still have the plastic.
And screw Sennheiser too. 200-400 bucks for headphones, then 20-30 bucks every year to get original "replacement cushions"?

I left the clear plastic rings in as they were in when I took the old pads out which were bought from new,so must be there for a reason ,probably to strengthen pads.

I got these today and they work fine for the PC350. If you've ever fixed your bike, they are easy to insert.
    1) Take two small screwdrivers from somewhere, or nail things or dinner table knives. Anything metal with a flat head.
    2) To insert them in your new cushions, bend the two short "egdes" of the elipse shape to get one half into your shape.
    3) Use one screwdrives to fix the ring in place, and the other to flip the remaining egde of the ring into the shape.
    4) Press cushion into headphones.

Thank you very much for the video!
It turned out to replace the ear cushions in a few minutes!
I was worried that I could not do it and I would have to buy new headphones.
Now my headphones look like new.
At the same time I learned how much dust accumulated inside.

I just finished replacing my PC350 pads. It seemed impossible at first, but you do have to force them a little. I like the leather on these much more than the crappy leatherette that came stock (made my ears sweat, not to mention the material disintegrating in many places). You should include a link to this video with the pads! :)

I literally just installed the replacement ear pads for the PC350 from HeadphoneMate.
The good: price, shipping was quick, the covering seems to be same/similar material to the original replacement ear pads that Sennheiser sent to me
The bad: stiffer ear pads than the original, video makes the insertion of the black ring look easy (it's not). I got pretty frustrated trying to make it fit but eventually I did do it.
The verdict: Good ear pads for the price and I would probably buy them again.

I bought earpads with code 523310 for my "HD380 pro" (they are same as for PXC 450) and it comes with plastic rim already installed. So I just remove old and place new earpads!
Btw I don't found plastic underwear for old earpads in my 380 pro. So I first think that it is some transport stuff. But than I saw your video and leave it.

@foxkiller86 I have PC 350s. I like the headphones. But, but stock earpad covering was disintegrating. Just received "UltraCushion Replacement earpads for Sennheiser PCX 450 Headphones" from Ebay. Installation for PC 350 is same as this video. Has the same plastic ring that should be removed from flimsy stock PC 350 earpads, and inserted into new "UltraCushion Replacements for Sennheiser PXC 450." Flat side of ring faces away from earpads, as shown in video. sry. I'm wordy.

just going to confirm that it works on pc350, it's challenging. when you initially put the ring in remember to hold it in place with one hand while working it in with the other, it'll just pop right out otherwise.

The plastic black rings will actually very easily break even if you only squeeze them a little. It's better to try to fit them in as best you can without squeezing them, and only squeeze as much as you have to to make it fit.

  • @JimFarrand
    @JimFarrand 9 ปีที่แล้ว

These are great instructions, but I got a bit confused, because my replacement pads from Sennheiser UK came with the plastic ring (ie I didn't have to remove it from the old ones).
Not the fault of the maker of the video, but I thought I'd leave a note it saves someone else a few minutes of fiddling... check whether you need to transfer the ring as demonstrated in the video, or whether they are there already.

FYI, everyone, if you have PC350's, there's a small plastic/vinyl "lip" over this plastic ring you're looking for.
Don't resort to googling for half an hour confused like I did. There is a plastic ring there. Just look harder, fool.

  • @_Monso

I just received my HeadphoneMate headphones, pulled my old ear cushions off and there's no lock ring inside of them....there's a circular black plastic piece that looks like it but it's glued to the original fabric.
I don't know if I have to order this part separate or what I should do.

Bought a pair from you on ebay under the name 'eokboy'. I have a question, do you have the replacement pad for the headband? My cat scratched the outer coat of the pad, and the scratches got bigger as I use the headset (Sennheiser PC350).
These replacement pads are great. I think the sound isolation is as good as the original ones (if not better) although they are not as comfortable (but the build quality is firm, and thus I believe they will last longer).
