Eddie Vedder is / has a vibe. That's why Pearl Jam's music has touched so many people all over the years, Eddie's voice and charisma and the band's musicianship. A wonderful mix. And yes, we'll be watching to see you check out the 'mother of all stage dive' during that Pinkpop performance...

For me, Pearl Jam is all about storytelling. I am 49 years old man, and they first album "Ten" rock my teenage world, and still have that effect on me! PJ are very much alive, and i strongly recommend they latest "Dark Matter" album! Anyway, i love your reaction, and hello from Serbia!❤

This is why I and millions upon millions of others are Pearl Jam fans because Eddie Vedder & his band members express their wild crazy authentic selves on stage and off stage and their Hippie Neo-60's vibe and protest songs for War, Social Injustice, poverty, & homelessness!!!! And when Eddie is tired at the end of his songs he falls out on stage and he has the confidence that his fans are going to catch if he falls!!!!

This is about a Vietnam vet who was also named Eddie. Ed befriended him and said some days he was clear-headed and some days he wasn’t really there. Ed would sit outside (wherever it was that PJ was working at the time) and eat sandwiches with him. After PJ did their first shows in Europe, Ed returned and didn’t see Eddie in his regular spot. He asked around and found out he was living under a certain bridge. Ed went to visit him there, but after their next set of out-of-town shows he found out Eddie had died. 😢

I'm kind of jealous, getting to discover Pearl Jam for the first time, when I was young they blew my mind and changed my world, no lie. This in my humble opinion was some of the best music ever created and performed, strap in and enjoy the ride, it's gonna be a long one. ✌❤

@anthonyguadagnino2681 yeah... that's true. Sometimes though I think it's not the drugs we are addicted to but the depression we seem to be addicted to and drugs or alcohol are the only things that help. If only for awhile. Just makes it even harder to stop. Anyway...way too soon.

🥁🥁🥁🥁 yeah Saeed .. this is top notch Rock & Roll. The band gives 100% through all their shows. It is clear that Eddie was born to be a Rock Star !!!
They have a song that is a little more mellow titled "Better Man" that I think you will enjoy.
    ..
.. and yes .. I met Eddie and the band when they were the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. I was working the afterparty that happened after the show was aired

If you’re looking for songs similar to “Even Flow” by Pearl Jam, you’ll want tracks with a mix of the following elements:
    • Grunge and Alternative Rock Sound: Distorted guitars, raw energy, and emotional lyrics.
    • Powerful Vocals: Dynamic, often gravelly voices (like Eddie Vedder’s).
    • ’90s Rock Vibes: Songs with the same era-defining sound from bands of the Seattle scene and other rock groups from that time.
Here’s a curated list of songs that capture a similar feel to “Even Flow”:
Grunge Essentials (Similar Sound and Energy)
    1. “Smells Like Teen Spirit” - Nirvana
    • A defining grunge anthem with explosive guitar riffs and angsty energy.
    2. “Man in the Box” - Alice in Chains
    • Dark, moody, and heavy with Layne Staley’s commanding vocals and Jerry Cantrell’s powerful guitar.
    3. “Outshined” - Soundgarden
    • A blend of Chris Cornell’s deep vocals and intense, riff-driven sound.
    4. “Alive” - Pearl Jam
    • Another Pearl Jam classic with soaring guitars and Eddie Vedder’s storytelling.
    5. “Plush” - Stone Temple Pilots
    • Rich in melody and gritty energy, with Scott Weiland’s unmistakable vocals.
    6. “Nearly Lost You” - Screaming Trees
    • A catchy grunge hit with Mark Lanegan’s brooding voice and fuzzy guitars.
    7. “Vasoline” - Stone Temple Pilots
    • Punchy rhythm and dynamic, driving riffs that resonate with “Even Flow”.
    Alternative Rock from the Era
    8. “Bullet with Butterfly Wings” - Smashing Pumpkins
    • Combines aggression with emotional depth, led by Billy Corgan’s raw vocals.
    9. “Would?” - Alice in Chains
    • Deeply emotive and atmospheric, with a powerful riff and layered harmonies.
    10. “Black Hole Sun” - Soundgarden
    • A darker, psychedelic grunge track, yet still maintaining a heavy rock edge.
    11. “Cherub Rock” - Smashing Pumpkins
    • Strong opening riffs and a raw alternative rock sound reminiscent of Even Flow.
    12. “No Rain” - Blind Melon
    • While lighter, it shares a laid-back groove and soulful energy.
    Hard Rock and Blues-Influenced Alternatives
    13. “Interstate Love Song” - Stone Temple Pilots
    • A driving, blues-inspired rock tune with a similar nostalgic yet hard-hitting sound.
    14. “Hunger Strike” - Temple of the Dog
    • A collaboration featuring Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell, blending two iconic voices.
    15. “Jeremy” - Pearl Jam
    • Another Pearl Jam staple, known for its powerful lyrics and dynamic intensity.
    16. “Far Behind” - Candlebox
    • An underrated grunge gem with big riffs and emotive vocals.
    17. “Touch, Peel and Stand” - Days of the New
    • Acoustic-grunge with a raw, grounded energy similar to early Pearl Jam.
    18. “Shine” - Collective Soul
    • Heavy guitars and a powerful chorus that carries the same rock anthem vibe.
    19. “Come as You Are” - Nirvana
    • A slower, groovy track with a similar grungy guitar tone.
Modern Bands with a Grunge Revival Feel
    20. “Black Honey” - Thrice
    • A mix of modern alternative rock with grungy undertones.
    21. “Mind Eraser, No Chaser” - Them Crooked Vultures
    • A gritty, bluesy hard rock track with a tight groove.
    22. “My God Is the Sun” - Queens of the Stone Age
    • Punchy riffs and swagger, reminiscent of Pearl Jam’s hard rock moments.
    23. “Gasoline” - Audioslave
    • Featuring Chris Cornell’s iconic voice with Rage Against the Machine’s instrumental prowess.
These songs capture similar sonic textures, energy, and emotional depth that made “Even Flow” a standout. For a deeper dive into this era, exploring more of Pearl Jam’s album Ten or the grunge compilations like “Singles” soundtrack would add more gems to your playlist.

great song, its about homelessness also about Eddie becoming friend with a homeless person that used to hang out around the studio they'd practice at, one day after a tour, Eddie went looking for that person to hang out but couldn't find him, eventually he found out the person had passed away on the streets due to the weather.
Also at the end of this video, Eddie adds some lyrics to the original ones and it goes:
"I died. I died and you just stood there. I died and you watched. I died and you walked by and said no. I'm dead."

I love me some Eddie Vedder. He's going to be 60 on December 23 and he still sounds great. I don't know how you take requests but I would highly recommend "Release" from a 2016 live performance at Wrigley Field. It's incredible. A lot of people like the same song from a performance in 1992. But I like the more recent one better. New subsciber here, but I've been watching you for a couple months.

PJ are a great band to fall in love with and are still making great music. From this first album era, you need to check out Release (most people would say their Holland ‘92 performance) and State of Love and Trust from MTV Unplugged. But then move on to their second album and check out Go, Rearviewmirror, Daughter, and Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town.

Pearl Jam is the best band of the last 30 years. Lots of bands have 3 or 4 brilliant songs. Pearl Jam has dozens and dozens of master pieces.
You should check out Release (live from Holland). Any version of Present Tense. Any version of Corduroy.
And I strongly recommend you do a live version of Betterman. I personally think the live version from State College was their best performance of Betterman and it’s available on TH-cam, but audio only.
And then I think it’s absolutely crucial that you react to the studio version of Yellow Ledbetter.
