HOW THE TIMES STABBED JORDAN PETERSON IN THE BACK | the whole story! (2021)

  • Earlier this year, The Times published an article about Jordan Peterson and his daughter Mikhaila, While the Times initially approached them with a desire to celebrate his life and career but also inquire about his recent health issues, the article was clearly a hit piece, determined to destroy his reputation and make him seem like we cannot trust his judgement.
Looking into the situation, both the depth of Peterson's health issues, his journey to getting better thanks to help from his daughter, and the full unedited interview with The Times' Decca Aitkenhead, it made me incredibly sad to see the insensitive article that made it seem that Toxic Masculinity was Jordan Peterson's issue. In this video, I dive into exactly what happened to Jordan Peterson, and why we need to pay attention to his story as well as his treatment by the media.

Your father is a great speaker. He is very calm when talking to people that, i can imagine in his view, utter completly crazy things about topics they probaly dont even understand. And its sad to hear that they TRY TO WIN an argument when he has suffered so much. Nobody goes to someone in a hospital that suffered a carcrash and say stuff like "Werent you aware how dangerouse driving is? Shount have someone like YOU have realized its a bad idea?"
Also his way to explaine things that seems to complex to understand is amazing. When he talks about something he is able to explaine it in a way that makes it seem like common sense. Its always easier to point the finger at someone or something and say its His / Hers / Their fault this and that is like that but the truth is that everything has so many reasons for beeing what it is and he briliantly points that out.
I hope your family is doing better! Greetings from a fan from Germany!

My heart goes out to Dr. Peterson and his family. True story: In 1987 my cousin and his wife hiked in the Adirondacks for their honeymoon. She was bitten by a woodtick, and weeks later developed severe headaches and debilitating joint pain. Her mind couldn't focus, she fell while walking, and had to quit her job. Many doctors told her it was all in her head, and didn't take her symptoms seriously. Of course, nowadays we know about Lyme Disease, but back then it baffled the medical field. After 3 years of being bedridden, and the doctors saying it was "all in her head", her exasperated husband divorced her. A few years later she was properly diagnosed and got the correct medications, but by that time her ex-husband had remarried. A very sad tale!

I had a similar issue of misdiagnosis leading to a doctor claiming things were in my head, and insanely, my undiagnosed condition was vitamin d deficiency. Keep in mind, according to Google, that up to 1 billion people suffer from the condition worldwide. The issue was that my condition was so advanced that I was beginning to have neurological symptoms, since I had sufficient levels of calcium in my blood, but without vitamin d, it doesn't efficiently absorb.
TLDR: If you experience the sudden onset of dizziness, muscle twitches, and anxiety with no history, take some vitamin d supplements. Absolutely go to the doctor just in case, but many people need vitamin d and don't know it.

Rare disease sufferer and I encountered a similar situation. If you question doctors or even seek second opinions sometimes, you are attacked or sent into the mental health system (because it shows an unhealthy obsession that you spent so much time researching the condition that the doctors don't understand in order to try to save yourself).
It also immensely bothered me that they kept throwing the fact that he went to a clinic in Russia in his face, trying to imply some kind of hypocrisy because he's openly criticized neo-marxism in the past and it just doesn't work that way. Also it presumes that Western North American medicine is somehow the only "correct" place to receive medicine.

    • @Ondemas
      @Ondemas 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

@Nat20 Damage That sounds a little far-fetched. They had probably visited several clinics; wouldn't that require all of them to conspire in secret? It's much more likely that they didn't know about his very rare medicinal reaction and screwed it up by mistake. But I will say that it was pretty chilling to hear about the doctor dismissing Mikhaila's suggestions.

@Amanda Don't even get started on that - the whole basis that female tennis players' unequal pay (same money, fewer sets) was approved was due to the evidence of the Sharapova, Williams, Kournikova, Wozniaki deals that they were proportinally bringing in more sponsorship and media attention than the men, and therefore deserved "equal" (i.e proportionally more per set/match) payment.
It's not possible to hang your collective hats on media and proportional promotional presence as the reason to be paid more than men for doing less work; then to back one of the players for shirking that promotional and media responsibility. It cuts both ways, so to speak. Mo money = more responsibility. If the responsibilities are too much; the argument for more pay falls down with it.

And the fact that they were able to pull through despite such a huge problem still amazes me. I know that when a significantly smaller inconvenience occurs in my life I spiral and become very bitter. But the strength and the perseverance that the Petersons show is such an inspiration. They are all, in their own capacity, such admirable figures and we don’t understand how LUCKY we are to be privy to the amount of knowledge they share about how to live life and how to be happy. It’s mind boggling that someone that has suffered from depression all their life gives us such sound advice on how to be happy and successful.

Even if he is your enemy, how can you have absolutely no compassion and empathy for his suffering? These people attacking Dr Peterson are emotionally and psychologically fractured. They are in pieces, their own personal hell's. Its quite evident that they avoid seeing who they truly are at all costs. They project their self hatred at those who achieve what they cannot. They see him as an enemy, In my personal opinion, because he accomplishes what they cannot. He does it with views and perspectives that contradict these leftists so not only are they haters, but they are proven to be quite wrong in many instances and their egos cannot handle it. Narcissistic Egotistical God Complex, verbose with emotions of psychosis. Its not a 4 axis but i believe it blankets many of them quite well. Its the security blanket that they use to ward of truth.

I always distaste the idea of labeling ppl as good vs evil. Given a certain set of circumstances, we all have the propensity to exact harm upon ourselves and others. Some are less equipped than others to handle adversity and suffering. Or rather, some have more handicaps in that arena. Jordan’s inner strength to push through the dark places in his life is credit to his humility and benevolent outlook, not this completely misapplied label of toxic masculinity. It’s the weak and insecure that seek to control or diminish those with inner power. Labels and projection are bullying strategies of those that secretly live in fear....it’s not necessarily done out of ill-intent (as I believe is the case here), sometimes with those we love it is out of a warped notion of protection....don’t go down that path...because I’m afraid, you should also be afraid. The NYT story was clearly an effort to disempower Jordan, and in effect, those that follow his teachings. It reeks of malevolence.

What I could not stop myself thinking about is: If I have seen my WORST ENEMY be this vulnerable, and hurt, and go through this much pain, EVEN IF I thought it could be avoided, I would NEVER, EVEEER publish an article like that. Even if I wanted to hurt him, I would have said to myself: I have to give this man some time to stand on his two feet firmly, before I 'attack'.
    Baffling to me.

From what I have seen from his videos interviews, Jordan Peterson is very sincere person.
Decca Aitkenhead is anything but. Good thing the truth comes out eventually.

Sometimes I disagree with Jordan Peterson (usually to the different environment we both were raised in, he's from Canada, I'm from eastern Europe so naturally we value a bit different things in life) BUT I love listening to that man discussing something. He's very respectful and polite while not allowing his worldview and ideals be shaken despite having them questioned all the time, having his words being twisted by people trying to make him look bad. And he always has arguments to back up his points and defend them without being hostile to the people questioning them.
A truly manly man, a male icon of what every man should aspire to be. And considering the insane amounts of love that flow in his family (both in his support of his daughter's extremely severe medical conditions and her saving him) he's also an icon when it comes to fatherhood and husbandhood (if that's even a word :D )

Glad this is being discussed, thank you. I don’t always agree with Dr. Peterson but I respect him greatly and after listening to the raw unedited Times interview, then reading the article it really bothered me. The journalist suffered no repercussions for her lies unfortunately

Peterson - "I'm literally dying, I have researched this as has my daughter and I am terminally ill"
Times - "Hmm I feel yah. Ever been cat called? Life's rough but I wouldn't expect you to understand"

No, he is very vulnerable now. It seems he is more prone to make emotional decisions under depression and stress. I hope he regain his confidence and able to overcome his depression. Hopefully, he will be more careful in selecting these interviews

Exactly. Decca went into the interview with full intent to write a hit-piece and was just using the interview to fish for ammo to use in her hit-piece.

I agree with you, It is sad that a person can be so misrepresented during an already troubling time and what is worse is that it was done by a somewhat reputable publication, on the bright side, Mikhaila Peterson, she is the example of a daughter raised right. Just listen to how calm and collected she is when she is responding to the interviewer without getting triggered. That is pure class.

All this years I have been watching Dr. Peterson, I have never developed any negative impressions to him. I love the man. Truly thankful for everything. It's truly heartbreaking for me to watch him suffering in his health and the worst about it is that this man, a second father figure to me, is getting berated and constantly demonize by many people he was trying to help. He is always kind to people even to those who are angry at him. I don't understand the hatred

I disagree with much of Jordan Peterson's philosophy and worldview. However, I can recognize genuine suffering. Liberal/progressives love to talk about empathy. . .except when it means empathizing with someone they already dislike. Instead, they will moralize this person's suffering, implying that the person deserved it, or something along those lines. I'm saying this as a self-proclaimed progressive. We are not immune to the hyper-partisan blind spots that we so often decry on the right.

I was on the far left for a while and I had to walk away because I didn't like how they openly celebrated the suffering and death of people that they didn't agree with ideologically. It's disgusting and hypocritical according to their philosophy.

Well said. I think dehumanizing political opponents is a very bad way to go. I think it has a lot in common psychologically with racism, only it's ideology instead of ethnicity. Even if you want change, it won't happen by hating people who think differently.

Great video, and thanks for highlighting this great, interesting and inspiring man. Props to his loving and supportive daughter. Isnt it odd that a supposed "toxic" man hell bent on holding women back, or at least this is how the main steam media would have it, this toxic man has helped raise an intelligent, independent amazingly strong young women, who clearly loves her "toxic" father. Main stream media has lost all integrity and most people's trust!! Shame on such a previously considered prestigeous news outlet, shame indeed!!
