Capacitors still in the box and smoke detectors that are beeping….. two of my worst pet peeves.
The home owner just changed that filer 5 minutes before you got there.
My thoughts exactly
Lol. I agree the smoke detector beeps are extremely annoying and unnecessary. Lazy people need to just put a battery in it.
And put it in the wrong way
I never understand when people say the homeowner just changed the filter what is it suppose to mean?? Let me guess and correct me if im wrong so people call saying the ac is not working so they remember to change the filter? And so when you get there the filter is like if it was changed couple days ago so you cant see the culprit and so u cant charge them???
@@DJV94022 that's because they probably went for months or years without touching the filter and they don't want to look bad when the a/c guy visits 😁
Oh thank god you cleaned off that nasty vent grate, I never would have forgiven you had you left it.
Exactly, Me Either! 😬👍
Why do people just sit there and listen to a beeping smoke detector? It would drive me nuts
They may not hear it or tell where it is coming from….hearing issues are the pits!
They've become mentally desensitized to it. Laziness is also a factor.
😂😂 just like cars annoying seatbelt
That's one filthy unit. Great job Curtis
She called so he could clean it for her. Lol.
I love the people who keep up on their service you know they changed the filter when they had no a/c
The unit was hanging for a thorough PM. Well done mate!
Might be interesting to check pressures before cleaning a filthy coil like that, and then comparing to after cleaning.
A 9/16 wrench work's great for those caps.
Yes, I rarely see an HVAC tech with a socket set or wrench set. They tend to use "channel locks" or a crescent wrench on everything.
Don't let me see any body use chanlelocks on brass !🙂
Awesome vacuum attachment!
I Wish I had a Nickel for Every Time you Started your Video with “We have a NO Cooling Call”. Those Six (6) Words Consistently Pay your Bills. 😬👍
Dirty clogged filter -condenser- air handler- what possibly could go wrong? Customer was lucky that’s all it was. Nice work 👍
Thats some fancy wire work
Blows my mind all the videos I see with beeping smoke detectors in the house. How people can live like that hour by hour, week by week, month by month with that noise is beyond me. Stupid is as stupid does. I guess they dont care if its not working properly to detect a fire when theyre sleeping SMH
I really don’t like places like this one where you can stand or sit to work but good job man you did great job. It is so dirty look it.
A nice clean up Curtis, it sure needed your knowlegable attention 👍
Giving her a little TLC. She’s now ready for the summer! Good job Curtis. 👍
Sounds like a beeping low battery smoke detector. I hear that often in homes. Perhaps you can carry batteries for those too and list it as a safety issue. Let the homeowner decide if they want you to slap a battery in.
great video tech
Thanks for all you do
Holy crap! The electrical in that attic is a fire waiting to happen.
I thinking same thing 🤔 exposured wires,wire nuts no j box's

@@stephenbullock-yn3vh Some builders use Electrician Helpers instead of Master Electricians to save money. No reputable certified Electrician would ever do that, not ever.
@Joey Barrelwilde go to say that home owners will do those things as well to hiring certified electrician to save money.I was comercail electrician 1982 I retired just 2021
@@joeybarrelwildewouldn't say that. I've come across plenty of bs that certified electricians have done. Also goes for plumbers, HVAC, fire sprinklers, etc.
Blood blister under the nail... you can heat up a sewing needle and burn a painless hole through the nail so the blood can squirt out and release the pressure.
You just need to add a tee for a vent in the attic after the PTrap!
My question: Why you didn't take the cage off the condenser and clean the coil the right say? Plus you could hear the air leaks on the handler.
Nice job Curtis. That system was a mess.
The three most important things for you home a/c system: 1. maintenance 2. maintenance 3. maintenance.
Really Disgusting and it Fully Explains the Difference between “Rental Vs. Home Ownership”. Any Questions, Class ? 🤪👎
Tenants do not care about the cleanliness of their homes or equipment!
Nice and simple service call. Need a few easy ones once in awhile
like the video. have you fell through the ceiling. do you think they will come out with a new freon. be bless and safe. is that puppy growing. SAVANNAH TN.
I have fallen completely through to someone’s floor. But, yes two new refrigerants are coming out
"No way to get a wrench on it." It appears a socket, with a short extension may be the easiest option.
She was a dirty girl! Good job Curtis!
Hi y’all from west Alabama
How you doing? From SouthWest Georgia
@@HVACGUY don’t feel good today
@@jamierushing well I hope it gets better
@@HVACGUY ty bro
I'll just wait until my unit inside and out is totally filthy and call HVAC guy to do it. Well, at least you make some $$$ for it.
I used to really criticize ppl on the state of their equipment, but, ppl are busy, and homes just don’t come with a manual. If you told the average homeowner or even renter that they’d get a few extra degrees of cooling and no interruption in service if they’d just clean their coils, change their filters, monitor drainage and add algae tablets, I’d bet everyone who lives in a hot climate would absolutely do those things…
A tenant will not do much of anything in most cases "its not their job". A typical homeowner will not either unless they are reminded to do so. They have too much lifestyle on their minds vs. pay attention to their homes mechanical needs, plumbing needs, electrical and so on. Preventative tasks are simply not in their plans, more than half of the population is that way.
@@Garth2011 if you presented it to them as “your AC will stop on the hottest day if you don’t” then perhaps that would motivate, is what I’m getting at..
@@johncspine2787 That is usually when they do. So true...I always suggest folks have a spare capacitor for their outside and inside unit in the event just that happens. At least you won't have to deal with an HVAC guy who hasn't got one on their truck.
Perfect example of ignoring a yearly PM .......
This one looks like its been at least 5 years
does anyone make a 11/32 hex hollow shaft bit with a shank to fit in a drill or driver or made one themselves?
Need to take the cage off to give it a proper cleaning.
The adapter that you have attached to your suction wireless gauge, what’s it called and where can I find one? I have the same set of field piece wireless gauge set. Thanks, Tony!
It’s an appion adapter . I’ve forgotten the name
I love your videos, but in multiple videos I notice no cat walk, in California where I’m at you need a cat walk and 24 inches in front of funace.
Yes, that seems to be a fair requirement but you'd also think that if the home is fitted with HVAC that code would require an attic fan or two. With all of the Government arm chair experts messing with lifestyles and pocket books, they fail miserably at obvious changes, limitations, enhancements etc. to a modern home. Instead, they approve two story homes all while chanting about "green ideas" and as noted above, A/C but no attic fan requirement which will easily lower the living space temps by itself by 10 degrees in summer. As you know in CA, they focus on earthquake this and that yet the chances of them happening is rare all while folks who don't know construction are ripped off monthy with their utility bills because of the lack of simple things that will pay off long term like exhaust fans over cook tops or stoves to take the smoke, oils and stink outside vs. "recirculate". That is another completely stupid idea, to allow homes be built with recirculating exhaust fans...very dumb...even a third grader could figure that one out. With the energy issues they have created, they still set SEER minimums to 14 in CA when the industry should be required to install 20 or higher SEER A/C systems. If they did, it would bring down the price due to the volume of sales...more sold equals more made in production and costs would be lowered. Now they are pushing heat pumps in CA, that won't be positive for CA homes, the cost of electricity to heat a home in winter will easily triple the cost of gas heating. I believe that folks who have homes built in the past should be entitled to replace systems that they were built with vs. having to "remodel the house" to suit some steak and lobster parasite in office.
That’s some bullshit how deep in the attic the air handler is
PM's? We don't need no stinkin PM's. Run it till it quits.
Never did it that way.
Sure gonna try it tho
👍👍👍
Why are you using the access fitting on the low side probe. Did you change the rubber gasket fitting in the probe?
I just decided to leave it
Who doesn't love a china-star?
China-star?
I'm not an expert however, I see no reason for those drain pans under the HVAC. It seems that they collect all of the dust and debris up there and then when they need to catch a water problem they epell all of the crud in the pan with the condensate and plug up causing the real problem that could be prevented in the first place. I have seen other installs that simply use the evaporators two drains and call it a day. Man, that filter was too restrictive, too high a MERV, and you'd think whoever replaced it last would have spent some time with a vacuum hose with the brush at the same time. But, it made sense when you look at the rest of the insides.
Maybe someone can explain why those drain pans are used vs. pvc pipes from the evap.
👍👍😊😊
Grampa told me when i was about 8: Son, always flush your radiator from inside out so you flush the bugs back out the way they came it. I have now seen every so called expert on youtube force the dirt into the condenser unit. I guess because they dont want to be bothered to take out a few screws and remove the fan? I'm sorry, i dont get it. It would take what, about three minutes to do it the right way?
What would you typically bill for a job like this?
Nice but should have checked evap coil too 0.0
I agree
It had to be pretty rough.
Takes a little more effort
It would require to remove return flex to access the dirty side
Question ? What makes some be dirty out side, and some not Dirty out side ? reason i ask mine is 16 years old , never been clean , and it dont need to be clean so why do some get dirty and some dont ?
If you Clean the Outside Coils, you’ll see how Dirty they really are since the Dirt is Not always Visible through the Coils. Hosing it Off will make it run More Efficiently and cut down on the chance of a Mid-Summer breakdown.
Environment!
Every time the A/C is running and the grass gets cut or the weed eater is used, the fan is pulling air from all sides of that unit which is pulling in all of the debris floating in the nearby air/environment etc. It all adds up over time...folks who have gardeners likely never think of it. It would be best to not have the grass grow up and next to the unit, instead have a larger "pad" for the A/C to sit on or pour a concrete one that extends a good 12 inches all around the unit. I have seen some locations where they have a planter to act as a sepperater from the lawn to the planter and shrubs or flowers that will not shed debris that will bother the coils etc.
Quick question for all,
What are tricks people use to make you go out to check out their units for free..ive been on certain calls and i feel my time is wasted after i checked everything..each industry had its tricks and hacks but is it with hvac?
Where did you buy the shop vac adapter that fits 3/4” pvc drain? Is there a Milwaukee part #?
take the fan off and back flush the condenser coils. did you check the evaporator coil ? it's probably filthy too. wipe the green off of the unit , make it look like you did something
I'm with you on that evap coil. I can only imagine!
👍
I am sure this has been brought up. But what tablet holder is that you use?
and of course the smoke just happens to be beeping! Mark Dice is always right its a black culture Thang!!
referred to as laziness.
Oh my how in the world they think you post to work
?? If you don't pull a good vacuum on one can it freeze up ?
I would of broke the system apart and cleaned it properly.
What was the pills you put in the drain?
1st 😊
All those tools & you have no 9/16" wrench?
Black folks always with beeping smoke detector. Half of your videos they are chirping lol
