I'm certainly glad you post these videos, sucks that Y.T. doesn't pay enough. It's nothing to do with your videos it's just that people these day's aren't interested in learning trade work. The service you're providing is priceless imo. Because I learn something from every video, thank you. If it was affordable I'd come visit for a week and pay you just to ride along, nothing compares to that veteran knowledge!
Dw Dave I will be back on the road after a year and a half almost off due to medical condition... Not even back to work, yet here I am. I'm sure i will be back to liking your videos daily!
Just wanted to say thank you for all your videos they are a great learning tool. If you can on one of your future videos give a shout out to Globe Arizona HVAC class! We watch your vids religiously and love ya! Thanks for the love!!!!😊
Caught you checking the tightness of those component screws. Watch that youngins, that is experience! I really enjoy your channel, the work, the scenes from my old homeland, you got it all. Keep up the good work!
thanks Dave for your idea. I had a VANGINA plate made my service van and have it hung up in the back window. some people up here in wisconsin lose there minds when thay see it. While on the roof during a service call people were stopping in traffic to take pics of it. 🤣🤣🤣
Do you often find comps with start and run caps fail to start when the run cap goes? I've been finding a lot of dead run caps on maintenance jobs, but the equipment still manages to kick over and run with just the start cap. Yet to see one where the start cap is the issue in person. Still replace them but interesting to see
Link that video please! The one I mentioned working on in my other comment did the same thing so put all the fans onto the contactor so when it pulled in the fans would come on too. But yeah that dixell controller was toast, it apparently got took out accidentally by maintenance when they was acid washing the condenser.
Did you ever use those multi-mfd value caps? I think they call them Turbo Caps or whatever, made down here in sunny Floriduh? I needed a 50 mfd that I knew I did not have but my friendly parts shelf at work did have the Turbo. Made the common to purple. Bang, mission accomplished!
The chance of them holding charge unless you've got an open winding is slim to none. Even then you'd have to have the winding fail at the perfect time for the cap to be charged. With AC it's just as likely to be at 0V as it is at 200V. Matters more on stuff like VFD's, less so on run caps. Start caps with a faulty bleed resistor could get you though.
I grew up there in the 60's, what a time it was. Uncle Scam called me away in '68 and I never made it back. My bad....My old man bought a cabin in Ben Lomond in '64 for $6500. We moved to SC in '67, graduated from Soquel HS in '68. The livin was easy.

Yessir, a Ref techs ideal service call has power and water nearby. Only thing missing from this one is the ability to drive right up to it

I just worked on one identical to this just two weeks ago, it had two dead fans and a contactor spitting fire😂

I'm concerned Tippy is becoming a bad influence on the rest of the crew! 😉😄 Dave gets a meatball service call, about time!

Tough for that condenser to be rejecting heat 6inches from a wall
@@stillthakoolest it’s more the than 6” come on now.
it was further off the wall than that for sure and the fans pull air through, exhausting out the rear into open space, not at the wall.

Super tech: tightens up the female stacons for the blade connections to the cap and doesn't just push them back on sloppy loose...
thought we were supposed to leave them loose and install the cap inverted for job assurance......
You didn’t show the new guys how to discharge that cap , or should they now that . After one bites you you’ll remember.
