He’s Gay though You guys use the word destroy like you use the word the and the word woke I’m really surprised how you guys haven’t said that the sun and the stars are woke because they both shine on everyone
There may be - but I haven't witnessed any misogyny in the community as a whole or from Star Wars Theory - from all the streams and videos I have watched from multiple creators, my general takeaway is that people just want the stories to be good and they want to have characters they care about on a fantastical journey. The quality coming out from Disney since they took over the rights from Lucasfilm has been woeful at best. When they tried to make up for the sequel trilogy with Mando S1 the goodwill they garnered has been undone, from cancelling Gina Carano to hiring the director who wants to "destroy men". For the record I don't agree with "destroying" anyone. Star Wars is for everyone - but we shouldn't have to say it because it's always been the way - we never used to so why should we now? Everyone should be able to enjoy Star Wars, everyone did a long time ago but that galaxy is now very far away. At least we have the original 6 movies that are untarnished and Rogue One is at least well made. Quite frankly - I'm done.
Thats true. I watched SWT’s podacst with MauLer and they both say that they have no problem if women or men are the Main characters. They just want good storytelling and not key jangling and poorly written stories. But then again, calling those kind of youtubers bullies and misogynistic does get more views 😂
i agree with you two! I really believe in good storytelling and writing above all, and unfortunately we have not been getting it with recent star wars.
@@crystalkyber You don't agree at all. You literally shit on a guy who did you/women nothing wrong & villainise him & then act like you're so "reasonable" when two ppl rightly point out the man-hating bigotry inherent in your faux criticism.

Regardless of the quality of Star Wars post Disney buyout (which has been hit or miss, usually the hits being Filoni behind it) Gina deserved to be fired. I don't care about people's political views...unless they're on the extreme side. Comparing yourself to literal Holocaust victims for being a Republican is absolutely trash behavior that does not deserve the publicity that Star Wars brings you. Full fucking stop.
Well....Star Wars Theory never said that phrase, the phrase "Women don't like Star Wars" was said by a woman who was being interviewed by Star Wars Theory.
@@Buliwyf Na....He had no obligation to correct her, and even if he had, it doesn't change the point, he never said that women are not Star Wars fans, plus if we look at the numbers we know that the majority of Star Wars fans are men, 65% of the fan base is male and only 35% female....so when someone says..."women don't like Star Wars" they are generalizing and the generalization is correct according to the statistics....And you say that he is a fan of Andrew Tate, as if that has any importance in this topic....as far as I know, Star Wars Theory has been creating content for much longer even before Tate appeared, so his opinion has nothing to do with Tate.😂

We can Like, Dislike, Love or Hate anything we want to. It's personal until you attack something or someone else that thinks differently than you do. Unlike "you", I first saw Star Wars when it was re-released to movie theatres up here in Canada. The Empire Strikes Back is still my Favourite of all 6 movies that I consider "cannon". George Lucas may not have been perfect, but at least he taught us all how to dream and be passionate about The Force. It's a shame Mark Hamill wasn't in agreement. He's not quite the same since he got wound up in Disney's plans to divide the fans. The best videos are about Creation and Passion, not Criticizing or flogging a dead horse. Awesome video! So glad I found your channel. People like you and others in the SW community have really inspired me to revive my channel. Thanks for contributing. Your work is so good! ❤
Star Wars is Not for Everyone. It is for those who care about Star Wars. Too many Fake fans have crept in and undermined beloved franchises. The irony of her denying she felt attacked by him when he specified ONLY e-girls & not even e-girls on the whole, but specifically those who use their fandom to take money from desperate male fans. And she generalised that to meaning "SWT says all women are fake fans".... clearly proving she never actually watched his video.
@@SabatSch95 yeh, clearly went on a tangent based on a clip she saw, and is trying to play it off as sarcasm. I watched her vid, just nothing about it made me feel like she understood his point. And was just kinda using the "outrage" bout what he said to draw people to this vid. Kind of a meta conversation about whether of not being opportunist is a negative. But kind of missing the point that to truly passionate fanbases, it's a net negative. Case in point, the time I spent watching this vid could've been spent way better, but revolving the conversation around a big member of the SW community gets us to click.

Hi, Star Wars Theory didn't get upset about it, he actually said if Mark doesn't want him to use his likeness, he won't. You guys seem to be on the same team, but for some reason things are being taken personal? You said you kept it to yourself about being a Star Wars fan, and agreed it wasn't the "cool thing" back then. So where's the disconnect, because he said some people are opportunist? And he doesn't hate Star Wars, he loves it, that's why he makes his videos, just like you do.
Cause he's painting women as opporitunists and those who say they do as 'e-girls' who dont care. Keep in mind, he never clarifies his crtieria for opportunists, so that criticism can be levied to anyone. The irony also is that he himself is an opportunists who whines when Star Wars isnt to his liking despite being good (like the Andor fiasco).

It’s funny the Star Wars toxic fans has always been a thing because while social media was starting to get off the ground, they were people who were born in the 60s watch the original Star Wars, and when the prequels came out, they were complaining and bashing the sequels. They hated the actor Hayden Christiansen, who played Anakin, even hated the romance between Anakin and Padme But yeah this is a revolving door that never stops

I believe he did not mean all the new fans or even the women in general, but just those that just want views and do not understand about the matter, the “fake fans”. It may have seemed generalized a bit, and that is quite unwise, of course (be careful of the absolutes). As long as you truly love and believe in what you are saying, there is no problem at all, no matter who you are, indeed it should be encouraged!
It's great to see so many people speak out about this bullshit from SWT and those like him. It's time we show that Star Wars is for everyone and not just these weird gatekeepy dudes that are afraid of cooties.
@@RogerNeil Because it’s a shame that so many people are standing behind Disney who are actively destroying Star Wars, a series that was always supposed to be a place where you could escape from reality and just have fun, and ruin it with their ideologies, just like with the Cleopatra documentary. Just because people don’t like the stories that Disney shoves out of their pie hole, doesn’t mean they’re misogynists, or racists, or whatever you wanna call it, we just want good stories and that’s all, is that so hard? Even George Lucas did a better job at creating strong female characters, so Disney saying that Star Wars was solely male oriented is just one big lie. Also it’s funny to see how greedy and egocentric most of the people there are, to a point where they’re just eating each other up. Regarding all of this, no, letting you Disney shills stay in your little toxic Disney bubble is a horrible idea, or Disney will never change their self destructive ways
I believe he was talking about IG/Onlyfans women, as opportunists. I can't believe you made a whole vid trashing this guy. LOL. Now you are the opportunist. Welp, anything for views, right?
I think implying SWT is "making money off of hating Star Wars" is quite a bad faith take. It seems like you're smart enough to understand that SWT doesn't have a problem with female characters, female fans, female writers or directors. What he gets annoyed about is when LF or the mainstream media want to focus on gender or race. And what fans get annoyed about is when they're accused of being bigots and misogynists for disliking characters like Rey or Reva. I'm sure you'd be annoyed if I claimed you must dislike the sequels because it has a female Jedi and a black stormtrooper. It was tiresome to see Ingram trot out exactly the same strategy as Tran; go out of her way to say she wasn't a fan of Star Wars, talk about how the brand needs to be more diverse (as if women and POC never existed in Star Wars cast/crew), and gush about how overwhelmed they are by attention. Johnson did a lot of damage with backlash to TLJ, and Ingram made it worse with Kenobi. Nutsa makes videos that are probably more critical of the sequels and LF than any content by SWT, and I don't see her being accused of gatekeeping or being a man baby. Marcia Lucas and Howard Kazanjian dislike the sequels and how Rey, Luke and Han were written. Is she also a misogynist? LF hired Jenkins, then fired her (another in a long line of "creative disagreements") and yet now we have to get excited about someone who has never made a big budget feature, with a divisive main character, talking about how she wants to envision the franchise? The problem these days is that legacy media attack anyone who doesn't follow the corporate narrative, and independent voices like SWT get smeared as "toxic" for having their own opinion. We've seen this kind of nonsense with the pandemic, Ukraine and Gaza; any nuanced opinion gets reduced to a spiteful narrative used to sneer at that voice. "If you like Star Wars, you're a Star Wars fan" That's exactly the same message SWT has. But he is also allowed to have an opinion on what he likes and dislikes. Same as Nutsa. I'd argue that while everyone can enjoy Star Wars, it's mostly men who are interested in discussing the lore and characters. And the women who are interested in doing so, have likely been won over by enthusiastic male fans in their lives, fathers, partners, friends and brothers. That doesn't mean there aren't a lot of women who enjoy Star Wars but don't care enough to discuss it in detail. I think it's pretty clear that SWT doesn't have a problem with other channels making content about Star Wars or tweeting about it. But people who want to use Star Wars as a platform to SHAME Star Wars fans as part of a culture war aren't genuine fans, and don't genuinely want to discuss Star Wars with others, they jus want to complain. It's an obvious distinction. And there are many small youtube channels trying to build their subs on attacking channels like SWT, because they know putting him in the thumbnail and title will get them views. Just like this one. Imagine if someone made a video about this video, and titled it, "Crystal hates SWT and wants his channel banned for toxicity". That would be pretty annoying, right? I heard an interesting point from Alok Kanojia (I don't know if he goes on your list of people to complain about) and how we deal with addiction these days. We tend to talk about things being controlled or banned (or cancelled) rather than the individual learning to build up their own resilience and tolerance to deal with that thing. i.e. instead of people getting annoyed with SWT's opinion and wanting it stopped, or misrepresenting it, the actual real action to take would be form healthy responses to it, such as, 'well, I don't agree with him, but he's entitled to give his opinion'. RFK (who also gets regularly smeared for having nuanced opinions) says that 'I think every abortion is a tragedy, but I respect the right of the mother to choose, because it's her body'. That seems much more reasonable that forcing people to be pro-life or pro choice. I think most people are in the middle somewhere and it's just a vocal minority that want to argue, and the media want to polarise and divide. But these people always get misquoted and mocked by the mainstream media for not complying with the corporate message. Star Wars Meg is classic example of someone who does her best to have a positive spin on everything. She is really tactful even with things she doesn't like. I don't think SWT would have a problem with her channel and Meg doesn't make a point of insulting or shaming fans, even when she acknowledges a backlash or division in the fandom. She doesn't make thumbnails of other people and make them look angry or silly to get views. Having an opinion and expressing it isn't opportunist. But misrepresenting what SWT said and does, or implying his opinions are always in line with the live chats on his streams is bad faith. Calling him a "villain" is pretty pathetic in the context of the shit that's going down in the world right now. If you want to talk about toxicity - notice how in panels and interviews Favreau and Filoni and Sackhoff, Dawson, Esposito, Weathers talk about **character** and what the world of Star Wars means. They are enthusiastic about that. They don't call anyone man baby, they don't accuse fans of being bigots. The toxicity in the fandom is largely from divisive comments from LF creators (including the authors) with passive aggressive statements and mainstream media. It's not surprising that it gets a reaction out of fans. It's not surprising long time fans don't like being called bigots by new fan that buy into the LF narrative. If a new fan called you a gatekeeper and bigot for saying that you aren't interested in the sequels, I imagine that would feel quite unfair, no?
@@markgregorygacosta531 When I saw your reply, I clicked back on the comments of this video and saw you also left a comment for the video because it was pinned at the top of the page. I left a reply to Crystal, for calling you sexist. It appears to have disappeared completely now. But I guess that's how some channels operate; judge and accuse people they don't know for having a different opinion, rather than proper debate, and then delete any record of it when they called out for it. Pretty toxic behaviour if you ask me, when complaining about toxic fandom. Did you get to see what I wrote or do you want me to post it here?
As far as fiction goes, things that are made for everybody are ultimately for nobody. That is what people really have to understand. Hi Taylor!! Thanks for watching and sharing your insights! Yes absolutely agree, im so happy to have connected with other fans over the years, it is really special
I was somewhat bullied by Star Wars Theory. Let me explain. I think it was during the Kenobi finale livestream watch party, I sent a superchat saying that I was wondering why there wasn't a post credit sequence. And in a rude and sarcastic tone, SWT said something like "Dude, this isn't marvel. Post credit scenes isn't really a Star Wars thing". Then he chuckled shortly after. I really love when there is a post credit sequence in a Star Wars project. Post credit sequences is not only a Marvel thing, Star Wars can have them too. Then I think during the Mando Season 3 finale watch party, I told him about how his comment upset me, so I asked for an apology, and then he was all like "Alright, I'm sorry that this isn't Marvel", once again in a rude and sarcastic tone. So that's why I don't watch him anymore. His reactions during the watch parties seem like he's becoming uninterested in recent Star Wars, while I still find joy in them. He's just got poor attitude overall.
Not for nothing, He wasn't wrong, that's almost NEVER if not just flat out NEVER been a Post credits scene is Star Wars and that's a very strange message to include in a super chat. A super chat is to either thank someone, or to ask them a question you wouldn't otherwise get the chance to ask. Not just make a very odd statement. I was there for that watch party, did you not see all the negative shit people are saying to theory? Sorry if he's a little jaded when people say silly things, and if you got your feelings hurt from that, you should get a response like "sorry it's not marvel" and it was just funny, and he wasn't trying to hurt your feelings. Calm down, you people who get your feelings hurt like this over some nonsense and claim that you were bullied are just a laughingstock for the rest of us.
I'm not entirely sure why you care what others think about you liking Star Wars. 🤷🏻♂As a male and going to Star Wars Celebration, it was a total non-issue who was there - we were all just there because we like Star Wars. It is only people on social media trying to MAKE it an issue for the Likes/views that's the issue. Without fictitious "issues" (that do not actually exist offline, by the way) there is no content to generate.

Hi Crystal Kyber! I just discovered you today and absolutely loved your video about your very own Star Wars story! I never really thought about it that way, but we probably all have our own Star Wars story that introduced us to the galaxy far, far away. Over the past few years I've come to the firm belief that the cure for Star Wars is MORE Star Wars. More movies, shows, comics, games, toys, etc. Because Star Wars IS for everyone and the Galaxy is big enough to hold all different types of fans. If the sequels weren't for you, then there going to be something there you'll likely really click with. Maybe it's Clones Wars. Maybe it's Andor. Maybe it's Galaxy's Edge. My point is that there's room on the star cruiser for everyone and I'm really glad that yours is a voice out there promoting that ideal. Thank you for your work and I'm excited to check out the rest of your videos. And may the force be with you!
I really loved reading this, and you are so right, more star wars asap! More people in the fandom to connect with! More stories from a galaxy far far away!
Only OT generation feels more Star Wars is the answer because they lived in the so-called "dark times" where there wasn't a lot of Star Wars and wait between projects was long. All the other Star Wars generations have completely different opinion.

Back in the 2000s, when that lil boy felt like it wasn't cool to be a Star Wars fan, some of us were already spending way too much of our time online defending women's right to exist in fandom. And honestly, I'm just... so tired.
Star Wars should just be Star Wars. Who is creating it, whether that person is man or woman (or delusional of his gender identity), black or white, whether AI is used to produced it, are all of the least possible concern. What it needs to be is good and true to the spirit.
Don't take it the wrong way but he's a original he literally has been speaking bout star wars for a very long time and he knows wot he's saying is true Disney bought marvel n Lucas film because it is a boy brand at the end of the day
Your only evidence was his dislike concerning high republic characters. that hardly makes someone a real life Star Wars villain? Also why so much makeup? Eye shadow is cool though
Louder for the people at the back!!! I've been lucky because even thought I just joined the fandom recently, like a year ago when my bf binged clone wars and rebels with me. I've met nice people who is not gatekeeping things from me and not making me feel less for being "new". I love your content because I do feel like I need more women of starwars on my youtube feed!
If you're looking for a woman giving an intelligent and nuanced take on Star Wars, character, fandom, and culture, I highly recommend Nutsa. Although she is really critical of the sequels, and Iger, so that may or may not appeal to you.
Luke Skywalker is a straight white CIS hetero male identifying man with colonizer ancestry who is a member of The Patriarchy. In 2024 we have modern audiences and it's high time he was inclusively re-imagined to be a LOT more diverse in pursuit of equity, otherwise we will continue to be oppressed by sexism, misogyny, misogynoir, transphobia, racism, ableism, ageism, fat phobia, male gaze, mansplaining, man spreading, etc. and can't progress.
I am not "here to drag him.... but he should be held accountable for it" Title is Villain? I don't agree with that. No one ever said Star Wars isn't for everyone... like you and your brother, me and my sister go see each premier and we don't enjoy the new Disney Star Wars movies the sequels (force awakens had potential) you know what is hilarious is you never hear Lord of the Rings isn't for everyone because everyone knows they are amazing and the female characters are some of the best in fiction, and the hobbits were not to that level. It was not about you growing out of it when it comes to the sequels, they are not good stories and unfortunately the characters suffered within that story not being great. The characters all had potential (not just female or male all of them) it just was not a good story. Not because there is a woman as a lead, we all love Ahsoka and personally Jyn Erso is somehow underrated or never brought up when we talk about female leads because we want to hear their stories regardless of them being females and they are well written characters. That has been Star Wars Theories whole point then you have females who are just becoming Star Wars fans (who he calls opportunist which I do not agree with) which is great the more the merrier IMO (and his too being a content creator for Star Wars) saying that we just hate female character like we didn't grow up on bad female characters if anything we are holding them to a higher standard like Padme and Leia or the two above. One movie me and my sister always enjoyed was Quest for Camelot and that movie has a female lead with primarily male themes being a knight in the medieval era. I adore that movie because Kayley is a great character within a great story as well, but her motivation and character progression is amazing if you have not seen it, I highly recommend it. You can still have great characters in bad stories as well, but the storyline really hurt the female character IMO when it comes to the Sequels. Which is unfortunate for everyone. Even the males in the sequels are bad Mark Hamill slandered the movies every chance he had how Luke been portrayed. Jon Boyega was traumatized by playing Finn. SWT obviously doesn't hate Star Wars he just doesn't enjoy the movies that have come out as of late and because he is popular or has a larger following it gets heard more and changed into hate. I am glad I found your video though was seeing his and yours got recommended. Star Wars is for everyone absolutely! It shouldn't have to be said though. Thank you for sharing your opinion and I truly enjoyed your video, and your makeup is on point and your Grogu mirror is so cute lol May the force be with you always!
Thanks for sharing! I know Jyn is so overlooked and one of my favorite characters. Ahsoka was not well liked for years, it took awhile for her character to develop and for the fan to fall inlove with her. While i do actually share allot of the same opinions as star wars theory to me, there are things i dont agree with, like this opportunist thing, the platforming of his dating coach saying star wars isnt for women, and among other things. I really want good story telling with star wars! And i don't believe we should sacrifice good story telling for diversity. I want both lol. And thanks for the recommendation, ill look up Quest for Camelot! MTFBWY
Star Wars IS for everyone. Period. And Star Wars Theory would agree. I don't necessarily agree with everything he says or how he says it. But I can understand a feeling in recent years where, because Disney is trying to be super inclusive, the pendulum has kind of swung in the other direction in certain cases and men feel like they are now purposefully excluded from enjoying Star Wars. The "The Force is Female" campaign as an example (every Star Wars nerd was totally on board (before they actually saw the movie and lackluster writing) with Rey being the main character, even without this slogan being printed on T-Shirts). Or director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy saying she likes making men feel uncomfortable. Perhaps this was taken out of context or not, I don't want to get into it too deeply, because I don't actually feel very strongly about it. I'm just trying to provide an explanation. Most of us are on the same team and I don't think Star Wars Theory is anywhere near being this "anti-woke" villainous content creator he is sometimes portrayed as. The real problem is corporate thinking at Disney, where not art is being created, but a product. A product created by a committee, trying to cater to everyone, but in the end cater to no one. They are pitting us against each other and it's making everyone angry.
(this is reposted comment i made in a reply under someone else's comment I thought id post as my own comment) also new to the channel and sorry for the text wall!!! peoples issues isnt politics its HOW said politics are being used... lucas had his political messages woven within the subtext of his movies and didn't actively antagonize one side or another or claim one side is wrong or toxic. and his messages were not the main focus of star wars... the story was. the "woke" stuff people talk about is mainly the behind the scene shit the actors/directors and Lucasfilm people say while also hating on more than half of the audience (males) and hating on anyone remotely right leaning, even as a liberal myself I find it super annoying that they keep doing this. woke stuff usually being identity politics and intersectional feminism which they never use sublty and its clearly the focus of each star wars project and not the story and characters. also gate keeping in of its self is NOT a bad thing, you need some level of gate keeping in terms of quality of the franchise other wise you get disney star wars crap. also if you see someone who claims to be a fan but also wants to completely and utterly change everything that makes star wars, star wars then yeah they are not a real fan. many are tourist's who see star wars as a platform to push their own views/world views be it political or other wise and will try to cancel or silence anyone who they do not agree with or who disagrees with them. also need to keep in mind many are not woman hating, some certainly are just like some are man hating... you will always have both sides in every community sadly same with racists. but the vast majority are none of these things and many are not able to properly articulate their views even though they recognize the issues when they see them. as cringy as the term M-SHE-U is, you cannot deny its kind of true lately in the sense that they are pushing gender and politics in the MCU instead of pushing good story, writing and characters before all else. i see many people just hate to hate on star wars theory now since he has had mauler, critical drinker and that ryan guy on stream(s) which leads me to believe many people hate on him purely for political bs reason and many do take clips of him waaaaay out of context on purpose or say he hates women when I'm pretty sure he doesn't... is just tired of the gender politics being shoved into star wars viaon screen through behind the scenes actions from the companies and directors/writers. star wars IS for everyone, yet that doesn't mean that you can come into this space and try to forcefully change it to fit your whims and force everyone to deal with it. cant go into this space and try to change everything about star wars then call yourself a star wars fan. people just want a well written story, good characters and properly executed morals/themes in their star wars movies and any politics be kept woven within the subtext of the film and not feeling like you have a maga hat on while in a liberal arts college and getting politics shoved down your throat... or have said politics drive and dictate every single action disney/lucasfilm takes with these projects. people also don't like being told they are sexist toxic men when they just want well written female characters that are not OP or boring white wonderbread like rey is. they want characters like leia, mara jade, jaina solo, keria, bastila shann and more who are strong women who are also good characters who feel like real people with flaws and all.
@@crystalkyber NP and thank you for the video! i think many people agree that current star wars is bad and no matter what side you are on politically or other wise we just want a good story told to us and to escape from the annoying issues of the real world time to time. keep up the good work!

@@Kevinblankman nice strawman. if you were intelligent or honest you would know people dont have an issue with her views with pakistan but that she stated she puts her activism into EVERYTHING she does.... people are tired of having activism shoved into their entertainment/escapism fantasy movies because 9 times out of 10 it drags the entire movie/franchise down and takes the piss out of it. how was gina a bully? explain it to me and provide citation/cite your sources. if you are talking about her refusing to put her pronouns in her bio then kindly fuck off. if its about her "politics" then read the last sentence. if it is something legit then id like to know. have anything to say about the rest of my comment? or was that the ONLY thing you could have a hope to sound correct on?

Barely got a couple minutes in and this is hilarious. Tell me you don't watch or understand SWT's positions without telling me you don't watch or understand SWT's positions...
Here's the thing: good or bad, everyone is allowed to create their own Star Wars story. I do not like the sequels. JJ and Rian still had the right to create them. Just like this new director has the right to create her Star Wars story.
Here's the thing; Favreau and Filoni don't attack the fandom, or insinuate Lucas' movies were racist/sexist, or pretend Jackson, Williams, Best and James Earl Jones don't exist or aren't fan favorites. Iger, Kennedy, Ingram, Tran, McGregor, Johnson, Headland, Obaid-Chinoy and Abrams create division with their comments, whether intentionally or not, and the legacy media use it for clickbait and to further polarise and fracture the fandom. Obaid-Chinoy really has zero experience with a big franchise or big budget movie, so it's an odd choice to give her freedom to do what she wants. It's also pretty pathetic that they're making such a fuss about it, when they hired Jenkins and then fired her. On top of that, women and POC have been writing and producing and directing D+ Star Wars shows already. There was no backlash to Weathers, Famuyiwa, or Bryce Dallas Howard, and none of them attacked the fandom, either. If you watch the panels and interviews with Sackhoff, Dawson, Famuyiwa and Weathers, they have zero interest in making a fuss about race/gender. They are just a diverse group of people talking about fandom, character, story and their experiences with the franchise and Lucas' vision.
I just saw a Star Wars Theory video with a woman psychologist talking about how women want to be victims and that's why women Star Wars directors feel the need to have female-centric stories at the expense of great stories and...and...and...just like you said, it was getting weird and misogynistic. I'm a guy, and the original trilogy is it for me, but my Friend's young Daughter went as Rey for Halloween, and she was so excited to proud to "be" Rey, that I was happy that there is a Rey. As far as people being opportunistic, Star Wars Theory said at the beginning of his video that these "conversations" are going viral, so expect to hear more such content from him.
@@crystalkyber _"like i might not particularly like something in star wars but im happy for those that do!"_ These are the exact words that SW Theory has repeated FOR YEARS, even to this day. You are a lying scumbag.
Funny enough, I came acrros this video after watching a Star Wars Theory video and it was very englightening. Thank you to Crustal Kyber for sharing your perspective on it. As a young man in his near mid-twenties, I've been a Star Wars fan my entire life and very rarely have I met a female Starr Wars fan in person. Some of my female friends like Star Wars but it's not a lot and even a lot of my male friends don't like Star Wars. Besides the point I think that more of the fanbase agrees in theory (LOL), it's just when divisive modern political topics are brough in the discussion it divides the fanbase. Not to dismiss Crystal Kyber's feelings on the topic, but I believe that she only kind of scratched the surface of the issue. Star Wars Theory represents an often misunderstood part of the fan-base that only really wants select few things to keep them occupied, lasers go pew-pew, an emotional story arc for any character that honors what made them cool in the first place, big explosions, something interesting to hook them, and an escape from their everyday lives. While I am younger than both Crystal Kyber and Star Wars Theory, it also wasn't cool to like Star Wars growing up and the best thing that I think this franchise has done for all of us is providing us an escape to a galaxy far-far away. You might ask, but why are these fans so upset if that's what Disney provided? Most of these fan would say the insertion of "woke-liberal politics" is what did it and the other half of the fandom claims racism, sexism, and all other forms of concerning discrmination. Where is see the misconception is that politics has always been a part of Star Wars. DUH!! Especially liberal politics when George Lucas had the franchise still. What I've observed is that Disney being a straight problematic monopoly monstrosity is always concerned about it's share price and brand image. They're supposed to be family-friendly and the old Star Wars under Lucas owned LucasArts was less family-frinedly than the Disney version. Additionally, in the marketing of many of these products execs and writers like Kathleen Kenendy are repeatedly making strange pats on the back for having representaion and for inputting modern values in the story. The issue is that was already done by George Lucas (albeit imperfectly) and done in a much more intelligent way. Lucas's references in the OT were a lot more subtle IMO, even in the prequels. The franchise feels like a hollow corporate sell-out shell of what it once was when not that much needed to be changed. It was already a billion dollar franchise. When Disney is already doing something that should either be common sense or enacting basic morals, they use any opportunity to make themselves look good for something that seems even worse than pandering. And when that is used to distract people from meaningful and justified criticisms of the writing of current content it infuriates people. I garuntee most of these "fan-boys" are more liberal than you think and they just have ridiciously politically-incorrect humor. They just don't want hollow-fake woke corporate politics mentioned at every point when marketing content or when justified criticisms are being made without being listened to. Hope this comment gives some nuance. It's not to dismiss anyone else's perspective, at the end of the day we all want to see lasers go pew-pew in a galaxy far far away.

Nahhh, star-wars is not for everyone. Most people minging about fans not wanting them associated with their favorite ip are the very same people 20 -30 years prior who would have spit on,given shit to, or flat out tried to kick your ass for liking starwars. Then act like some Johnny come lately and tell actual fans what starwars is. Most don’t even like the ip anyway, and just use it as a medium to promote a political agenda then never should have been inserted in the first place.

@@crystalkyber I always support the home team! I appreciate you making a space for these discussions to be had, now with that being said pointing out the feminist agenda that has gripped starwars is not misogynistic nor does it make one a misogynist and to outright dismiss what sw theory is saying on those grounds is ludicrous. Kk and her crew going out and saying dumb shit like the force IS FEMALE and the director of the new ray film talking mess about it’s time starwars was led by woman makes me think these folks don’t actually give a damn about Star Wars. Instead they care more about a political talking point than making good content, and starwars has suffered for it. Tbf I could just be minging about what we could have had as opposed to what we got. Obi-wan was a hot garbage (Vader fight excluded) Finn should have been a Jedi, and Sabine should have died! Just my opinion.
@@kevinsupple5382 I agree that while allot of the inclusion does feel like pandering, or i should say, its obvious that inclusion is being prioritized over good story telling. Im very disappointed with story telling in Star Wars from Kenobi, to Mando, to Ahsoka. But we can hardly blame a feminist agenda there. Btw 'The force is female' is from a Nike Campaign, not part of star wars at all. KK was seen wearing that shirt to an event she was invited to to highlight women working in the film industry.
I feel like there are too many people that will see a title or thumbnail directed at a creator or IP they like and will automatically hit the dislike button before they even listen to the video. The Phantom Menace was the first Star Wars movie I saw in theaters too. I dig your energy.

Star Wars IS for everyone. Thank you for including Star Wars Meg in your video, she has great content (she also has a second channel where she creates "Lo FI" versions of Star Wars music.) Apologies for this being TLDR. I was 7 when the first movie was released, I had all of the first gen SW toys, I even sent away for the Boba Fett action figure and was bummed when it arrived with a note saying that due to safety concerns it wouldn't have the firing rocket as promised. One of my degrees is in Film Studies BECAUSE of Star Wars. In fact, while there isn't a "Bachelor's Thesis" like there is for a Master's, in order to graduate I had to write a paper about a film topic and mine was about the impact of Star Wars on the movie industry. It was 15 pages long, not a single footnote, but a full page explaining how the info I had provided had been gathered from YEARS of being a SW fan and that is why the info was more "anecdotal" and not actual quotes. Suffice to say, I'm fairly knowledgeable and invested in SW. "Gatekeepers" have always been around. When I was young, they were all about music and bands. When REM and Metallica became "mainstream" the "gatekeepers" all whined and called them sellouts, and new fans weren't "real fans," and that they were there when nobody cared and now they're quitting the bands. I mean...WTH? People complaining that SW, Star Trek, Marvel, etc have all gone "woke" as if that's bad, just have never paid attention. They ALWAYS were, but people only see what they want to see, and now that it's tougher for them to not see the things they avoided before, they're gonna whine. SWT is another of those that if something isn't the way HE wants it to be, then it sucks. Heck, even after Luke was in the last episode of Mando Season 2, his full review had him going on and on about how the Falcon and Han and Chewie could have shown up and all this other stuff, like he was playing with his SW toys while coming up with his review. I will never understand how an IP that has always been full of all sorts of Aliens and had strong Female characters (Leia and Mon Motha) from the start is somehow NOT for women and non white guys. Ok then. Anyway, thanks for this, it was interesting and really SWT should watch this to maybe try to get an understanding as to where he is wrong...but either he never will or he'll just get upset that you pointed out some of his own failings and hypocrisies. Subbed. ~Be Blessed

If any one knows the 80s and 90s it was not cool at all to be a nerd, we had our own thing just like everyone else did. It is not only irresponsible but embarrassing to see that group gatekeeping it for themselves when as you said, Star Wars is for everyone Also you look so fabulous. It was nice seeing how all your makeup was coming together while talking about Star Wars 💖
This is wrong on so many levels. The only people who are trying to minimise the presence of women in Star Wars are the ones who say, "It's about time a woman led a Star Wars story" even though women have been doing exactly that for years. Star Wars Theory and his fans are the ones who are pointing out how ridiculous statements like this are because of the fact that Star Wars HAS been helmed by women. And there are MANY badass female characters in Star Wars that these people who call the franchise "patriarchal" are literally ignoring. What are you even talking about?

Hi,
Star Wars Theory didn't get upset about it, he actually said if Mark doesn't want him to use his likeness, he won't.

They hated the actor Hayden Christiansen, who played Anakin, even hated the romance between Anakin and Padme
But yeah this is a revolving door that never stops

I believe he did not mean all the new fans or even the women in general, but just those that just want views and do not understand about the matter, the “fake fans”. It may have seemed generalized a bit, and that is quite unwise, of course (be careful of the absolutes). As long as you truly love and believe in what you are saying, there is no problem at all, no matter who you are, indeed it should be encouraged!

"If you like Star Wars, you're a Star Wars fan"
That's exactly the same message SWT has.
Facts!

'Bullied' used to mean something, just like 'woman' used to mean something, before we reached the super sensitive present.
and you call that being bullied?..

(this is reposted comment i made in a reply under someone else's comment I thought id post as my own comment)
also new to the channel and sorry for the text wall!!!
peoples issues isnt politics its HOW said politics are being used... lucas had his political messages woven within the subtext of his movies and didn't actively antagonize one side or another or claim one side is wrong or toxic. and his messages were not the main focus of star wars... the story was.
the "woke" stuff people talk about is mainly the behind the scene shit the actors/directors and Lucasfilm people say while also hating on more than half of the audience (males) and hating on anyone remotely right leaning, even as a liberal myself I find it super annoying that they keep doing this.
woke stuff usually being identity politics and intersectional feminism which they never use sublty and its clearly the focus of each star wars project and not the story and characters.
also gate keeping in of its self is NOT a bad thing, you need some level of gate keeping in terms of quality of the franchise other wise you get disney star wars crap. also if you see someone who claims to be a fan but also wants to completely and utterly change everything that makes star wars, star wars then yeah they are not a real fan. many are tourist's who see star wars as a platform to push their own views/world views be it political or other wise and will try to cancel or silence anyone who they do not agree with or who disagrees with them.
also need to keep in mind many are not woman hating, some certainly are just like some are man hating... you will always have both sides in every community sadly same with racists. but the vast majority are none of these things and many are not able to properly articulate their views even though they recognize the issues when they see them.
as cringy as the term M-SHE-U is, you cannot deny its kind of true lately in the sense that they are pushing gender and politics in the MCU instead of pushing good story, writing and characters before all else.
i see many people just hate to hate on star wars theory now since he has had mauler, critical drinker and that ryan guy on stream(s) which leads me to believe many people hate on him purely for political bs reason and many do take clips of him waaaaay out of context on purpose or say he hates women when I'm pretty sure he doesn't... is just tired of the gender politics being shoved into star wars viaon screen through behind the scenes actions from the companies and directors/writers.
star wars IS for everyone, yet that doesn't mean that you can come into this space and try to forcefully change it to fit your whims and force everyone to deal with it. cant go into this space and try to change everything about star wars then call yourself a star wars fan. people just want a well written story, good characters and properly executed morals/themes in their star wars movies and any politics be kept woven within the subtext of the film and not feeling like you have a maga hat on while in a liberal arts college and getting politics shoved down your throat... or have said politics drive and dictate every single action disney/lucasfilm takes with these projects. people also don't like being told they are sexist toxic men when they just want well written female characters that are not OP or boring white wonderbread like rey is. they want characters like leia, mara jade, jaina solo, keria, bastila shann and more who are strong women who are also good characters who feel like real people with flaws and all.

This is such a nice video. Very calming and ASMR-like and to hear your story about how you came to love Star Wars is fun. I have been a fan since my Mom bought me the VHS original box set in the early 90s. So I have always knew women love Star Wars.
wow that VHS set brings back memories!
Thanks for sharing :)

listen maam an opportunist… is you. your capitalizing on something you have literally nothing to do with, sharing your opinion and making money off of someone else’s conflict is my issue with this video, that and the fact that uve been around for 3 years and like to call yourself a ‘fan’ cant sit here and bag someone for being an opportunist when ur putting your Fakeup on and talking about a situation that doesn’t effect you in anyway
omg im making money off this?? where??? Isn't SWT sharing his opinion and capitalizing on something he has literally nothing to do with?? But it's only an issue when i do it? got it.
this video is monetized is it not?

Barely got a couple minutes in and this is hilarious. Tell me you don't watch or understand SWT's positions without telling me you don't watch or understand SWT's positions...
Star Wars is for people who love Star Wars, it is NOT for everyone, especially not activists!
Here's the thing: good or bad, everyone is allowed to create their own Star Wars story. I do not like the sequels. JJ and Rian still had the right to create them. Just like this new director has the right to create her Star Wars story.
Yes!!!
Star Wars is for Everyone! you just got a sub for this video :)s
heheh thank you!!
Right! like i might not particularly like something in star wars but im happy for those that do! Thats really cute about your friends daughter 🥺
@@crystalkyber
_"like i might not particularly like something in star wars but im happy for those that do!"_
These are the exact words that SW Theory has repeated FOR YEARS, even to this day. You are a lying scumbag.
Women do want to be victims. Take a psychology class.
I had to bounce from SWT's content. He was becoming so negative.
It's not to dismiss anyone else's perspective, at the end of the day we all want to see lasers go pew-pew in a galaxy far far away.
peoples issues isnt politics its HOW said politics are being used... lucas had his political messages woven within the subtext of his movies and didn't actively antagonize one side or another or claim one side is wrong or toxic. and his messages were not the main focus of star wars... the story was.
the "woke" stuff people talk about is mainly the behind the scene shit the actors/directors and Lucasfilm people say while also hating on more than half of the audience (males) and hating on anyone remotely right leaning, even as a liberal myself I find it super annoying that they keep doing this.
woke stuff usually being identity politics and intersectional feminism which they never use sublty and its clearly the focus of each star wars project and not the story and characters.
also gate keeping in of its self is NOT a bad thing, you need some level of gate keeping in terms of quality of the franchise other wise you get disney star wars crap. also if you see someone who claims to be a fan but also wants to completely and utterly change everything that makes star wars, star wars then yeah they are not a real fan. many are tourist's who see star wars as a platform to push their own views/world views be it political or other wise and will try to cancel or silence anyone who they do not agree with or who disagrees with them.
also need to keep in mind many are not woman hating, some certainly are just like some are man hating... you will always have both sides in every community sadly same with racists. but the vast majority are none of these things and many are not able to properly articulate their views even though they recognize the issues when they see them.
as cringy as the term M-SHE-U is, you cannot deny its kind of true lately in the sense that they are pushing gender and politics in the MCU instead of pushing good story, writing and characters before all else.
i see many people just hate to hate on star wars theory now since he has had mauler, critical drinker and that ryan guy on stream(s) which leads me to believe many people hate on him purely for political bs reason and many do take clips of him waaaaay out of context on purpose or say he hates women when I'm pretty sure he doesn't... is just tired of the gender politics being shoved into star wars viaon screen through behind the scenes actions from the companies and directors/writers.
Is this Kevin from Madera?
@@crystalkyber of course muh horse!

But yes i agree with all your points and fr appreciate u watching my video!!

Subbed. ~Be Blessed
Hey! Thanks so much for sharing all of this! It was a delight to read your story :) And i hope you got your completed Boba Fett action figure eventually!

If any one knows the 80s and 90s it was not cool at all to be a nerd, we had our own thing just like everyone else did. It is absolutely infuriating to see Star Wars Theory and his fans try to downplay/minimize the presence of Women in the Star Wars fandom especially when many of my friends in the community are women.
