Oh no this is brutal- I hadn't realized that Gary would have secured his spot on the Olympics had they actually been held in 2020! I guess the extra time in training allowed Fintan to edge up & the coach decide quite last minute to make the switch. I'm so glad for Ireland and their gold today, but can't help but feel for Gary there having forfeited the spot. :/
