In Everquest Online Adventures (set approximately 500 years before EQ1) the location of Befallen is known as the Temple of Light/Mars Fist. It's a temple of various paladins. In EQOA, you can walk the halls when it is all intact. The main great hall is largley idenctical graphicly, setting aside the ruinous damage. It's like going back in time. I did a lot of research for Befallen to help write NPC dialogue for the work-in-progress EQOAEmu.
@packatk7431 Yeah! And thank you. I'm going to try to put out some more of these here and there. They take more time and effort than it appears but I enjoy doing it.
This was the first dungeon me and my friend grouped in to level up. It looked like something out of my imagination from my old pencil and paper D&D days.
That's really cool that it came off that way to you. I can definitely see that as well. I think they were going for that so they succeeded there. In fact this lore comes from Everquest version of tabletop RPG.
@kra2111 Thank you so much! I'm going to try to do more of these. I've found a goldmine in the role playing game they put out in the early 2000s. A game that was modeled after Dungeons and Dragons. They have these old books that not only help you play that table top rpg but are also rich with lore. As you can imagine the books aren't cheap these days. Also you can find PDFs but I'm trying to stay true and build a collection for myself and share with the community in an audio format that they don't have to buy. It's good stress relief for me. I love the game after all
As you enter Befallen, move along the left wall at entrance a little way, then stick your face into the wall (helps to have an illusion on) and you will see a weird GM room plastered with cat wallpaper.
Back in the day I'd hear talk of Befallen bopping around in the Commonlands but I had no idea the dungeon was nearby, just a small hole in the desert wall. That was a shock zoning in there. Immediately killed by Gynock spawning on me.
@TechRicky92 Thank you very much. Got some good feedback on how to improve and looking to possibly get a lore video out next week if everything goes as planned.
Really enjoying these lore series videos, its a nice break up between some grind videos. As to befallen I was a gnome rogue back in the day and I'd be chilling in EC looking for some phat lewtz to buy, and get tell after tell asking to help CR in befallen , or at least go open the locked door. :p I never really experienced there by the time I found out about it, I had leveld past it.
@Greldek haha, I bet! You die and your key would be on the course behind the locked door, LOL! There is a pre planar bis necro range slot at the bottom so I go there a lot, hehe.
Great video buddy, even new info for an old EQ vet. This zone took my first corpse i could never get back, i'm still mad about it. lol. are you trying to trick us into playing wow? i saw those clips you snuck in LMAO!!
@j.d.6915 It is also a tunnel in the side if the same wall as EC tunnel but it's much smaller, easy to miss and in WC. So you just follow the wall passed EC tunnel into WC and you will run into it there.
Awesome video, man. I've always dug the lore of EQ and you certainly did it justice. Looking forward to more🍻
@@FallenEros Thank you so much! Very kind of you! I really enjoyed making this! More to come. Thanks again!

@alutra That's really cool. Thank you for sharing. Hopefully when that project is closer to completion I can get my hands on it and play it!
More of this would be awesome man... Classic Era lore is so cool. Guk, Cazic Thule, Unrest, Mistmoore all have amazing back stories.

Good memories had around here back in the day. Miss those times.
@vanlaar2655 Times of olde were great and cannot be replicated but I've found new good times here on Quarm. Having a blast
Goddamn, great video. No idea how you managed to dig all this info up on a 25 year old game but you crushed it 👏👏

Haha, I completely forgot about that. I think I saw that on a video somewhere once upon a time. I'll have to do that
I remember getting to befallen for the first time and thinking holy shit this is the place from the back of the box!
@rakuwaru3619 haha dang. Was it on the back? I don't remember.

@@GleepGlop2 hahaha. Everyone's initiation into Befallen starts with Gynock 😂😂
Amazing job! I never knew there was so much of it and how significant it's history is.
@musicbro8225 Thank you! New lore video coming out tomorrow!
Quarm gave me a chance to finally explore and level in that dungeon. It was fun and challenging for my untwinked characters
@@tinycmo nice! Did you make it to the bottom with all the keys?
I really enjoyed this, looking forward to more lore videos!

Ya know, I don't think I even knew Befallen existed. Where was it in proximity to the EC Tunnel?

@@ClassicEverQuest That might explain it. I didn't spend much time in WC.
