    Super helpful! Would never have figured out how to get started without this. Had to pull a dead jetski up onto a shoreport dock, for service, and this worked great.

    Thank you for posting! Saved me a trip back to Harbor Freight. I got the 1200 lb model for lifting a skiff to my rafters but couldnt figure out out to lower it slowly.

    Archimedes said 2300 years ago; "Give me a lever long enough and I shall move the world." Cable pullers come pretty close to demonstrating that. With just human power, cable pullers, and rope or steel cables, it is possible to do the most amazing tasks. I like to use multiple cable pullers when moving large objects for safety, redundancy, and so I can continue pulling with several while I reset the others.

    This is also handy in horizontal application where you need to free a bogged small vehicle such as a quad bike or ride on mower. Place a dry mat or other type of surface behind the rear wheels of the vehicle and winch the vehicle on to the dry surface as directed in the video. Having a healthy helper to operate the vehicle simultaneously is a bonus, but results can be achieved on your own

    Using phrasing like "the pawl" will not mean much to the average punter. But, I'm a step closer to knowing how to use this little sucker.

    I have a Maasdam 2 ton puller. I've released both pawls, and while the drum easily moves when cranking the handle to pull the cable IN, it does not move when I'm trying to pull the cable OUT.
    Any ideas??

    That looked like a basic come-along that we used on our cotton farms, what's the difference between a cable puller and a come -along?

    • @E-rigging
      @E-rigging  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same product, different name. "Come-Along" is a colloquial term for this product that means different things in different places. For example, down in South Louisiana, chain lever hoists are also called "come-alongs". Same concept with people calling "Trimmers = Weed Eaters", or "Tissue = Kleenex". Let us know if you have any more questions!

    I can't pull the cable out, is it possible for a woman to do it, or does it need more strength.? I got it to help pull out small shrubs.
