Lets be honest: even if it was not written it was ailee or even showed her face we would now the second she hits the high notes
She's the only female singer in South Korea who sings like this. Also, she has a fairly deep voice unlike a lot of other female singers.
And the way she changes to high/medium and low notes (or low to high/medium) are pretty obvious too. 1:25-130. I don't know what it is or the specific term, but it is just so Ailee and her style of singing. The way she sings it makes it her......... if that makes any sense.

The thing that makes Ailee's voice brilliant are not her high notes, but her control over her breathing that allows her to lower and higher her voice at will, make a fantastic vibrato come out naturally (not forced, like many other singers), and create her high (REALLY high notes btw) notes sound... not as high/hard to reach? (which is not the case, try singing that with your head voice). Of course, Ailee's range is over-the-top for "Korean idol" standards and also American pop singers, in fact, I am positive this song still doesn't show her full potential, but her breathing technique I dare say is the best in Korean pop.
Not only her breathing technique, but when she hits high notes, it is not piercing-pitch irritating yo the ears like many other diva singers, in the Philippines, we call birit, like shouting sharp notes! Ailee's voice on high pitch notes is still big and pleasant to the ears! I hope she can go global and be known one of the best internationally! She is now my Top Favorite recently! I am in AWE of her vocal prowess and singing with right emotions!

i believe the point of the show was for idols to show the world what they have to offer. because band idols, are in groups, sometimes their voices aren't really heard or showcased as they want it to be. masked singer give an opportunity to those hidden singers to show who they really are, what their style is.. and so on. this show had a great intention, allowing us to hear idols that we thought we knew, but it just showed us "a whole new world" LOL

Xable0 i think its cuz she is easily recognizable, no one sings like her that i know of. i think the basis of the show is to guess who the mask singer is and if exposed they have to take off their mask. i might be wrong.
MrLKChoy You got a point. However I think the mask is really secondary to make it a bit more interesting. people still watch mainly to listen to great songs perform by great singers. If I was the producer, I would not have put two very good singers right at the start. That's kind of a waste. Sooner or later you will quickly eliminate all the top singers that are good at singing live. Ailee is of a caliber that can be queen for two or three times before being taken out by other legends. But maybe you're right. If you're right then that means the audience vote is rigged? Do they have time to meet and decide to take her out? because from what I can tell they record the show in a single session (the judges wear the same clothes during Ailee's first entrance and when she's eliminated).

People with easily recognizable voices like Hongki, Taeil and Ailee all get eliminated from this show because it's supposed to be masked singers, whereas they have such distinct voices that they might as well not be wearing the mask

She was obviously modulating her voice, making it deeper than it normally is, so that it would be harder to guess that it was her.
