    Watching these videos has me searching my local area looking for top notch shellfish creations. That seafood platter in your meal looked especially delicious! :) As far as the Maine style lobster, while I enjoy the whole thing it has been my experience that the claws provide the sweetest and tastiest meat.

    Looks really delicious, thanks for the video!
    I recognized you like to order many different kinds of oysters. Since I only tried a few varieties, how would you say they differ in taste and/or texture?

      Sushi-Liebhaber I'm with you!! I watch these videos to try & learn more about oysters. My husband & I just dined at Water Grill in Santa Monica, but I wish I had more knowledge/guidance to know exactly what I prefer. Don't get me wrong, I love trying new things, but I would love to know more.

    Love this series of videos. I can't wrap my head around paying $25 for one stone crab claw. I remember visiting a Houston seafood restaurant in the mid-90s and attacking an all-you-can-eat stone crab claw meal for $49. I think I put away 25-30 claws.

      +Jeremy Rule Haha, now you got me thinking back! As a kid we used to order a plate of steamers for about $3.00, and the thing was absolutely heaping. These days 12-15 dollars will get you about a dozen, if you're lucky.

      +pscully1969 what are steamers btw??

    • @pscully1969
      @pscully1969 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are small to medium size clams with long necks; the shell is generally a pale grayish white. The necks have a skin which you slide off before eating. They are delicious!

    I live in New Zealand and am wondering if you have ever had pawa? It’s a sort of shell fish can be a bit tuff if not cooked properly. And also if you like lobster or crayfish better I think crayfish has more flavor

    Not sure why the stone crab claws are so expensive. I think they shorted you a couple ounces on that lobster too. I'm sitting here having Rainbow Trout while watching you gorge on seafood, lol. Good times.

    You're an animal! Impressive. Water Grill is generally pretty good but sounds like you may have gotten a few duds. Next time you go to Vegas I have a great place for you, Estiatorio Milos in the Cosmopolitan hotel . Basically a Mediterranean place but they have a little seafood market display where you pick your meal for the night. Impressive lobster, crab, stone crab claws.

    Crazy how much restaurants charge for that lobster... I go freediving and grab about 3-4 that size per trip. A fishing licence is $45 and a lobster tag is an additional $9. I'm in Carlsbad btw just north of San Diego CA where the chef mentioned the lobster was caught...

    • @lyhthegreat
      @lyhthegreat 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +harrisric128 yea it's expensive but at it's probably because they have to cook it for you...and also shipping and all the other costs comes into play as well...but it's still really expensive..i personally wouldn't justify paying 90 bucks for a lobster myself...

    dude you didnt show a lobster it is a langouste (big crayfish) and by the way you use pickled ginger to apply soy sauce onto the nigiri in high end bars, but you shouldnt want to do that anyway...

    I dont like the color of the meat of the lobster. I am used to preparing South Australian spiny rock lobsters and their meat is very translucent and clean. Your lobster meat had a brownish look to it.

    what a rip!! $280.40?! Looks like US prices are going the way of UK prices...... greed as creed. This does not and will not pay off. Never forget.... good quality at fair prices keeps customers coming back. Everything is false economy.
