Great insights into the club, nice to hear from a guy that is close to the players. I haven't seen them do interviews like they do with him with other podcasters.

Glad you enjoyed it, we are going to tee up another pod with him in the near future. Remember to subscribe as we have an interview with the MaD Butcher planned for early April.

Geez the number of Warrior podcasters and the time it takes is becoming mind boggling but I guess a great sign for the club.
I see Christchurch have a serious proposition for a NRL club coming very soon so would like hear some opinions on that as obviously it will certainly put a dent in Warriors fan numbers plus they will poach some youngsters.
For me this year is a bigger test for Webster than 2023 when we just wanted to see improvement which against all predictions the team certainly over achieved but this year expectations are extremely high (some are actually over the top) but other teams will be far better prepared against us etc so nothing will easy.
However to date Webster seems a coach with a rare X factor that a few coaches have .I believe top coaches are born with it as it can't be taught or learnt just improved on.

Some interesting points you have raised. I suppose success breeds popularity in this game. I personally watch these TH-cam sports analysts and question their credentials to provide these opinions, hence why we reach to them to talk to them and find out more about them. I've found that Zane's podcast is really professional and balanced.
Yes, you are right, year two is always harder for a number of reasons for coaches and players alike, mainly because no-one had expectations for year one so anything positive is a win, but the fans have elevated expectations this year. Also if you are only analysing one team you can forget as you point out that every team has talent coming through, not just us, but Webby and by the sounds of it Cam George as massive ticks in the positive column for the Warriors future.
Now in relation to your point about the 18th team I personally cant see it going to a NZ franchise. I live in Perth so my two needs would be met if there is a team in Auckland and also Perth. I did hear in the news recently that the PM is backing the 18th team going to PNG as part of a trade deal if they don't sign an agreement with China to build a port there. How true this is, only time will tell. Cheers and love your comments, I will bring them up next time we have Zane on.

@@Wheres_My_Sports_At It is true Aussie govt are offering 25 million to help get PNG team in the NRL something to do with countering Chinese growth there.
The proposal from Christchurch for a NRL team is reported to be exceptional with high profile backing so will be interesting.

@jackohere1878 it most definitely will, that's why I think it's hard to call the outcome.
