Guys, there's an old game about exploring the outer planets that I couldn't recall its name. I played it in the 1990s on PC. It was like a semi-real-time STG, that can move and attack by rounds. You have a base in the game, in witch you can "cultrue" pilots for the vehicles and building different fighting vehicles. The pilots are sort of bio-created organisms that have different intelligences in different appearances. The lower-level pilots are like embryos, even monoplasts; The highest-level pilots are just in human form ( I remember one very similor to the captain of the terrain battlecruiser in Starcrafts) .You can build different type of combat vehicles in the factory. When you chose one design, the model will walk into the centre and start rolling exhibition. There was also different kind of vehicles, the small ones are like the walkers in Star War movie, and the big ones are like the AT-ATs. You can choose different weapons for them , there were lasers, cannons and so on. There were turrets in a cirlce out of your base. When you wanna start a mission, you launch a rocket in the rocket yard with a CG footage. When in loading phase, the mouse cursor changes to a clock icon.

However, after spending almost an entire day searching online, I am starting to realize that none of the games that used to bring me happiness or the ones I discovered today have caught my attention even in the slightest.

No no dude I know it feels the same for me, but actually there's another factor other than how good the graphics looks that determines whether you can run the game smoothly or not, it also depends on how optimized the game is, theoretically, no matter how amazing the graphics of a game is, and no matter how heavy it looks, if it is optimized to the maximum extremity of optimization, you can run it on an actual potato. Not a potato laptop or pc, an actual potato, the vegetable.
If this is your standard, just save up some money to get a decent pc pls. Or play some really old games like indie

Back in the day, I tried playing Crysis on my old Pentium 4 PC. Picture this: low graphics, a basic 640x480 resolution, 10-20fps-it was real low-end gaming. Later, I tested it on a stronger PC, but surprisingly, there was no significant improvement. Still low graphics and almost unplayable due to low fps. So, even with today's fancy gear like an i9 CPU and an RTX graphics card, Crysis still seems to be one of the worst-optimized games ever made.
Crysis developers thought CPU speed would keep increasing but instead CPUs had more cores. Because of this Crysis was bottlenecked by being too dependent on single thread speed.
Is crysis 2 also poorly optimized? I meet the requirements and it seems that I run it at 25 fps
@@agusrodriguez5859for it's time it was very demanding. And if it runs on the same engine as the first Crysis game it's CPU limited because they thought clockspeeds would increase but they didn't much
