I am a graduate of SCOUT WOODBADGE COURSE (SWBC #72) and TRAINING THE TRAINERS COURSE (TTC) and was a National Trainor of the BOY SCOUT OF THE PHILIPPINES. I was a graduate of ROTC. What did I learn from it? Sat under the sun listening to lectures of speakers who were officers but were not masters of their subject matters. Actually, I gained nothing from it except sunburned skin and headaches due to sunstroke. Oh yes! Drills and formations for parade participations. So, there is more benefit to our youth in SCOUTING than in ROTC, if only DepEd will support this program.

Other countries have very good model where teachers, doctors, nurses etc are the persons who are mandated to report to child protection agency when they suspect child abuse, whether physical, emotional, etc. If they don't report, they have legal liability. Give the responsibility to the appropriate experts. DSWD who have psychologists I suppose takes care of this kids & safehouses etc.

I am a graduate of SCOUT WOODBADGE COURSE (SWBC #72) and TRAINING THE TRAINERS COURSE (TTC) and was a National Trainor of the BOY SCOUT OF THE PHILIPPINES.
I was a graduate of ROTC. What did I learn from it? Sat under the sun listening to lectures of speakers who were officers but were not masters of their subject matters. Actually, I gained nothing from it except sunburned skin and headaches due to sunstroke. Oh yes! Drills and formations for parade participations.
So, there is more benefit to our youth in SCOUTING than in ROTC, if only DepEd will support this program.

We still are far and away one of the if not the best asian country for learning english. India might have more english speakers but the accent and dialects are too thick and far from what most westerners are used to thus most english learners prefer not to go there to study the language, while vietnam only has around 50% of their population that speak the language. The philippines is the 3rd largest english speaking country in the world, and around 95% of our population have some proficiency in english, not to mention some filipinos having a more american or neutral accent thus making it easier to understand.

We are not beginners that want to know English in fact we are living in the world now in which our culture in communication fits the needs of every aspects in our society to have a better life like for example in the business sector in which english is being used to easily understand and communicate foriegn investors. Kung itigil yan so maguumpisa na naman tayo muli na kailangan natin kumuha ng interpreter para makipagtransact sa mga investor from other countries. behind this move to reallocate the funds to coast guard and dnd. the funds will be better spent on
coastguard and dnd rather than on vp's deparment which does not really have any constitutional mandate
