I’ve had the same set up on my Tacoma for about ten years now.
I have one air line to each air bag on either side of the license plate.
I use a bicycle pump to inflate the air bags; easy to do as the air bags are low volume.
Five to ten pumps are all that is required for most adjustments I make.

Awesome. I now carry my old bike pump as a back up! Thanks for watching!

Hey Kyle, It was nice seeing you at HTC-E6 this weekend, it’s Mark AKA “Safety Alert” I have had these for about 2 years they were made by Firestone I think at the time. I think I paid $400 and installed them myself fairly easy to do. I have a few hundred lbs in my 2019 Taco 4x4 sport. I run 50lbs when pulling the Hiker but I have an EOR with a good bit of weight on the tongue. The only issue I have had is they don’t hold the air. Not sure how often it loses air as my Taco is not my daily driver. I was bottoming out before I installed them when I hit a hard bump or train track crossing. They are worth the money. Just check pressure every time you need to count on them for a trip. I filled mine before HTC not sure what they are now.

Good to see you too! Mine loose about 5 to lbs a day. I need to air them up about every 3 days or so. I seem to loose more air pressure on horrible roads then smooth ones.

You need to be careful as the payload of the truck may be exceeded and these airbags do not help increase the payload of the truck. My Tacoma (2021 TRD Off-Road) only has a payload of just under 1,000 lbs. If yours is similar and you are 200, and have 300 lbs in the bed that means the tongue weight of the trailer shouldn’t be more than 400 or so lbs. What you need is a weight distribution hitch. This actually transfers weight from the back wheels to the trailer and front axle of the truck. The amount you transfer back to the trailer axle can keep your truck from being over weight for payload. Of course you could make the tongue of the trailer less heave but adding some weight to behind the trailer axle, but not sure how to do that well. Maybe take that 300 lbs in the truck and put it on a “tray” in the hitch on the Hiker.

Correct. I will need to weigh everything but I doubt it's over the payload of the truck. The tung weight of my trailer is less than 300 lbs. The tacoma has a total payload weight of like 1700lbs.

@@squaredropadventures I would be really surprised if your Tacoma, as a 4x4 has 1700 lbs payload. That sounds more like a 2-door SR5 2-wheel drive payload. You can look on the door of the driver for the actual payload of the truck.
I would also be surprised if 300 lbs tongue weight made your truck squat several inches. Of course if you already had 300 lbs in the bed, then that might do it. Like I said, my 2021 Off-road only has a 950 lbs of payload. If I (250) and 300 lbs in the bed, only leaves me 400 lbs of tongue weight. Anyway, look at the door jam for your payload and good luck getting that tongue weighed.

Remember that your gas counts toward payload also. 6 pounds per gallon of gas is gonna add up to around 100 pounds on full tank.

Today I learned that you can get airbags without getting a compressor. Legitimately I always thought they were always a matched pair but clearly this works.

So much more for the compressor setup. One guy airs them up with a manual tire pump!

What hitch did you order with the hunter trailer? I have a similar setup and was gonna with standard for 17’ off road taco.

Do you feel a difference in the ride when you aren’t pulling the trailer?

Yes. Quite a bit more bumpy. My truck doesn't ride as nice. It never had a great ride but it's more rough now.
