I've been an engineer for 30 years and still enjoy your videos AND the singing LOL. Please don't stop, it's one more thing that makes your presentations fun.
Dear Jeff - I'm a 2nd year mechanical engineering student and I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You're an amazing educator and I feel blessed to have found your vids. BLESS YOU!!!
33 y/o Civil Engineering student here back in school after taking some years off for healing and personal development. Determined to ace structural analysis and all my classes this semester. Thank you Mr. Jeff Hansen! And all the best to all the learners and studiers here as well.
Dr jeff you're a true saver! Imagine that our Dr uses a pointing laser to explain hard problems and she doesn't even bother to write them down, she reads them from her downloaded files. I swear the only reason that I'm gonna ace this course is because of your videos Sir. Respect!
literally didnt study at all for this upcoming exam watched all your videos in less than 3 hours and feel beyond prepared for this test. honestly idk how you do it you're the GOAT of all teachers I cant thank you enough. P.S. I almost shed a tear writing this cause of how greatly you helped literally can't thank you enough Dr.Hanson
Hello Doctor Hanson, huge fan here. I always feel safe when you're here to help me with my Mechanics of Materials subject. And by the way ~ I still rock Van Halen ~
I wish all professors learn from your videos on how to teach, this was amazing. I was studying for the FE exam and was stuck on how to find the maximum moment so I looked it up and came across your video, I was already familiar with your videos so I was looking forward to learn it in the easiest way possible and what do you know, just watching your video once understanding all the steps clearly I now fully understand!
i dont know why i do not understand lecture from my lecturer(he using our own language). But when i hear your lecture i totally understand what to have to do. Great Lecture from Jeff Henson
Hey Dr Hanson everyone says this but thank you very much for these videos, you saved me in this course. Your videos are entertaining and you explain things thousands of times better than my professor. You make this course much easier to understand and fun to learn, thank you
Good day Dr, I've been watching your mechanics videos lately and it helps me understand the topic easily. I wish my class was like your class, the energy you give makes us JUMP!! Thank you sir.
Sir I’ve been your student since 2017 .. After my graduation I’m reviewing your Shear Moment Diagram videos to sharp my basics again. Thank you so much for your lessons . Would highly appreciate if you teach us more complicated shear moment diagram problems . Respect from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
if this helps anyone, try to think of the shear diagram as a representation of the slope for the moment diagram. When you get a negative number in the shear means the moment diagram is decreasing, if the number gets less and less negative means the moment diagram is decreasing more gradually.
Hi Dr.Hanson. I just finished my first statics exam and I did so much better than I expected and I have only been watching your videos because I get confused in my class. Thank you so much
Not only would my professor not sing to us, but if we asked him to he would probably just throw the books that he has written at us and tell us about how he used to study during the Cuban missile crisis.
Thank you, a lot, to you, my teacher took 3 periods for this part, and I have no idea what he said. You only make me understand it for only 30 mins with many fun tricks
I've always been confused on the location of the concentrated load for triangle distribution load. How do you tell when to apply the (1/3)*6 or (2/3)*6?
The 9 kN force really isn't there... It is the result of the distributed load used for finding reactions but not for the diagrams. So technically it is represented on the shear diagram by the parabolic portion from 0 to 6 meters. Hope this helps you out
I've been an engineer for 30 years and still enjoy your videos AND the singing LOL. Please don't stop, it's one more thing that makes your presentations fun.
I wish other teachers would watch these lectures for a change
genuinely grateful for this guy, u deserve an honorable mention when I gradute from Civil Eng.
how's midterm ?
the word 'Dr' is extremely meaningless for such a brilliant person as you... 3rd year mechanical engineering student thank's god for having you

you should study
how much did you get on the test

“You know what that’s Spanish for? Static’s problem” had me laughing really hard
i know, i was wheezing 😭

This guy is a life saver. A shear joy to listen to him. His easy explanations will annihilate all the cobwebs from your brains!!!!!

Watching this lecture after a year to remind myself of the topic as I need to use it for another course. And I gotta tell, I've missed you professor.
My favorite important bits
16:24 - The backpack analogy
Good day Dr, I've been watching your mechanics videos lately and it helps me understand the topic easily. I wish my class was like your class, the energy you give makes us JUMP!! Thank you sir.
You are my hero. The way you talk and your teaching skills are very effective and unforgettable.

You just ended my search for a great lecturer 😊
I love the personality in these videos! It helps me actually pay attention and retain the info, thank you!
van halen never gets old dude. best american band ever

Thank you for all your videos, support and intelligence Jeff! Glad you are you and ı got to meet you via your channel, lots of love 💙❤️
duygu naberrr yaa
The best "solids" professor!
Hi Dr.Hanson. I just finished my first statics exam and I did so much better than I expected and I have only been watching your videos because I get confused in my class. Thank you so much
love the singing back to zero makes me chuckle every time and just ensures that i'm back at zero
Order of the lines saved me from understanding the plotting on the shear and moment diagrams❤
Hanson is a legend, single handedly helping me finesse thru CE
Not only would my professor not sing to us, but if we asked him to he would probably just throw the books that he has written at us and tell us about how he used to study during the Cuban missile crisis.
17:00 absolutely not too old for us, rest in peace to the king \m/
best professor ever👍
this man is really life saver thanks master
Wonderful solids lessons!! really taking the time to explain the problems along with a good sense of humor :))
@13:03 LOL Jeff is Awesome, of course he got it right!
Thank you, a lot, to you, my teacher took 3 periods for this part, and I have no idea what he said. You only make me understand it for only 30 mins with many fun tricks
genius genius genius. man I don't have any words to describe you🤯❤
thıs vıdeo helped me more than anythıng thank you so much sır you are the BEST.
As useful as a Screen door on a submarine!!! lol from a old sailor!!! ;) btw thanks for all your help sir!!!
Love the videos Dr. Hanson. Checking in from UA Huntsville!
Same brother, Mark Lin sucks
Got my MAE 370 final tomorrow, let’s hope I pass lol
30:40. That Smile though.
Serious he is the only reason I pass the course
Friendly reminder to turn off your Adblock while watching Jeff Hanson , he deserves it
16:55 Here I was thinking the "Van Halen force" was the normal force of the record machine against my back.
You are good in teaching in man👍👍👍👍
Hi Jeff unfortunately I cant watch some videos in this series anymore, wondering if you could fix this.
Lesson 18,20 and 22 for the solids course cannot be played. It says unavailable on this device. Kindly fixed the issues with these videos.
I wish you were my solids professor.
What a great teacher😍
so nice teaching style & also like you teaching sir.
I've always been confused on the location of the concentrated load for triangle distribution load. How do you tell when to apply the (1/3)*6 or (2/3)*6?
its always on the taller side. So here the tallest side of the triangle is the right side, so the concentrated load is closer to the right side (2/3)
Van halen's songs never get old sir
after the cut, if you take the moment at C "By" will be 9.1 why is that? is that because moment cant be zero at the hinge?
Oh my shear graph back to zero!!🎶🎵🎷😅🤣
best professor
Great lecture and entertaining!
why for the second bar the moment have to be clockwise ..??
Thnx ❤
"Here comes red...oops lost my cap. So we need CY...CCCC YYYYYY" lmaoooo
21:26 If you don't get to zero,... it's your score in the exam will be going to that zero😂
Do you have any merch?
there are stickers on his instagram
Thank you!!
where's the 9KN on the shear diagram?
The 9 kN force really isn't there... It is the result of the distributed load used for finding reactions but not for the diagrams. So technically it is represented on the shear diagram by the parabolic portion from 0 to 6 meters. Hope this helps you out
Wish I could like twice
Thank you so so so so so so much.
what happened to the reaction By?
great teaching!! but you messed up your slow then fast first part of moment diagram
The one dislike is the one who failed the course
17:10 Nah Nah Nah I listen to Van Halen....I should have been born in the 80s
sir, if it has a concentrated moment on B, what will happen to the fbd??
it is not possible, because there is a connection. moment would be zero.
Amazing
Thank you
31:02 No they never do 😢😂
It is not correct to draw constrains and reactions on the same scheme! :-(
why is there so much ad
your great but I try to avoid your videos because way to many ads. breaks up thought
Mbalule zilile
Sir stop teaching like this, I am getting good scores for 1st time in my entire life. Wtf 😀
