100% agree with you. Coaching offensively is way too predictable and vanilla with running. And the OL doesn’t have any bite to it and look passive. They need to shake up the coaching for OL and also start Roshon Johnson. And Caleb needs to look to run on 3rd and short instead of 40 yard bombs that he’s missed nearly every time.
I’m more positive after that game than I was after the last game. Caleb and rome looked great to me, that’s what we’ve been waiting for this is the future people, and it looked great. I also said Swift wasn’t not good from the start and Waldron running game not good at all, needed to stick to it give it to roschon up the middle . Never good to lose and Caleb needs to tighten up on the long balls, but his speed of release and the speed of his thews are unbelievable. I’m happy, Caleb is the man now for me and so is rome. Check those boxes. Let’s go bears. Third game and the rookie gets 360+yards should have had more. Rome 100+ rookie receiver.
I have concerns about the O line, Swift and the playcalling. Caleb, with 363 yds. showed improvement. Caleb is everything. He's great, the Bears are great. EDIT: Caleb can't keep turning the ball over. Needs to work on that.
In my opinion Caleb and Kmet had a good game together. DJ Moore and Caleb had a good game. Caleb and Rome had a good game. Defense played amazing too with a few mistakes. The future is bright. Need better run game less passes even though I like passing game
Adam, my projection just fell to 10-7. Still good enough to make the playoffs. Bears need to get their sh*t together and win these next few games. I hope Keenan comes back soon. Bears need him.
Not sure what games you have been watching, but our line sucks. Are you blind? Our line has sucked since Kyle Longs glory years. I was at that Houston game, it was embarrassing how bad our line was. Today was just a continuation. You're usually spot on, but I have to call you on this. Maybe it's wishful thinking on your part.
@@denniswilson6673 Not based on these first three weeks. They won't beat the rams or panthers either, and they'll be 1-5. I told everyone that this Caleb thing would be a disaster, and it's looking like I'm correct.
Be careful what you wish for. You got your 300 yd. passer and 52 passes will almost guarantee a loss. Do you know of a single QB that can't get over 300yds with 52 attempts?
My good friend in this Bears world. All these things are for good experience. I agree we should've established the run, but these coaches appear to be incompetent in doing so. There's no clean answer here, so I'm not going to scoff and cry about 350+ yards ever
You know cj stroud only threw for more yards than that twice in his rookie year. In his 8th and his 14th game. Caleb just threw for 363 yards in his 3rd nfl game ever. So much negativity from everyone. Need to step back and take a look from a wider perspective, we’re developing a qb and we got him throwing 52 times. If that isn’t going to get him better I don’t know what will. Yes we absolutely can not run the ball and that is shocking, also missed blocking assignments at crucial times as well as perplexing coaching decisions is frustrating but c’mon let’s see what we’ve been wanting for years. A qb that can sling it for 4000 yards. I think we just got one. Once we sort the run game we’ll be 🔥🔥
Caleb had some nice passes once he got some pass protection, so yeah its not the start we all wanted for our Bears but this game calmed my nerves about Caleb, he will be fine.
Fields plus an OL haul was my choice - it was a SURE THING! Giving that up to gamble on a QB with turnover issues has always been faulty/risky logic. The consequences are 100% on Poles, whatever they turn out to be. .
Caleb is talented...but many guys have been and never figure it out....if will doesn't throw that pick the bears could be 0-3....the heat everyone would be facing going into week 4 would be insane right now
When you'r e older the emotions of the game will go away. Play calling is a problem right now but I believe that can be fixed. Caleb's accuracy is still an issue but that will take time. Running game has to change and there ust be a better commitment to it. Our conrrerbacks cannot get beat the way they were today. Adam, Shelton PFF score last week was B.S. He played better against the Colts but his first tow games were hot garbage. I'm visually impaired and I can see that. when your qB is sacked 7 times the line is a problem.
Run with the narratives? I watched the games 4 times. Shelton was not the issue and I refuse to just join the clucking hens because they say something. Teven, Wright, and Davis all played way worse. I'll always tell it how it is. I'm old enough, my passion for the game will never go away
My anxiety was off the chart as well Adam and I'll remain a Bear fan my lifetime. Plus, I do think Justin would be 3 and 0. RJ was good with a half-ass O-line. Cole vs Latu was ridiculous. The D was terrific again accept for one play that was thrown at our best, JJ.
Flus is in over his head.... This is a big city with big expectations... He needs to recognize he is overmatched and changing up your physical appearance does not make you a bona fide leader of men
Losing in the 4th to the titans at home a few minutes in losing to the current colts losing to the texans who could of lost to the colts as well....if anyone thinks these are good signs for the coach and qb...you are wrong...this wasn't the 2023 panthers roster or a rookie head coach...they have a defense and added weapons so it isn't all on the gm either...if they are 1-3 the season may be over
This was a bad loss plain and simple. But Pryor was better than Nate Davis, and Caleb continues to show improvement and he commands the line for a young rookie. The offense overall is slooowly improving. We’re supposed to be patient with rookies and all new everything remember? On a side note as well, the division is not off to a strong start and the team that everybody had finishing last is 3-0 and in first. It’s a long season.
With how valuable and hard it is to find and develop a good QB why is there always this need to “move on” from the current QB when you take a high draft pick at QB? Why does no one draft and develop even top picks anymore? They have to come in and start and get the crap kicked out of them for a season or two before they have it figured out enough to lead a team. For example, Chicago Bears had the opportunity to keep Fields and draft Williams. Fields needed to get better but he was a dynamic athlete that gave you a chance to win but he was inconsistent. They got a 6th rd pick for him after 4 years of development. The right thing to do by Fields was to get some return on that investment and have him usher in a new QB or to take it as a challenge to get better, that’s the exact reason why they have the 5th year option. If Fields walks we only got a 6th rd pick that pales in comparison to what he could have contributed in 2024. Look what he’s done so far with some weapons and a good Defense for the Steelers.
I'm 58 and been a bears fan my whole life. I've never seen personnel used so poorly. The first is Swift. He doesn't have it this year at all. 2nd is Eberflus' continued head scratching bumbles with the clock and time outs. 3rd is waldron and some his ridiculous play calls. The bright side is the line showed improvement and Williams showed a little improvement. But this loss was a gut punch
We were supposed to have a run game to complement all these weapons we have in the passing game and to alleviate the need for Williams to win games. Just get the ball to playmakers and let them create is bait and switch 😂 we have no run game to speak of and Williams is on an island getting pressure from every position off the Oline.
With an offensive line and competent coaching, Bears are 3-0. I agree that we did not need Swift. He is a pass-catching back. Roschon should be our guy for sure, but it's hard to run the ball with anyone when the line is this atrocious.
This oline (rank not players) had us to 7 wins (shouldve been 10 and playoffs if had competent oc) and one or two carries away from our qb having the record for most rushing yards in a season?? Lol, like you said the oline is not the issue and im tired of ppl talking about it now but real quiet the last 3 years 🤣🤣😭
@@Beardownsports yeah. To say my patience is gone would be the biggest understatement possible. I feel like it's been decades of 1 step forward, two steps back. We get our hopes up and then just disappointment.
If I were the Bears, and the coaching calls a dumbass play that makes so sense, I would ignore the playcalling and run an audible as a team that actually makes sense. Even if the play doesn't work, at least make it make sense! 🤦♂️
Waldron needs to call a smarter game, fluss needs to play RoJo a lot more Herbert a lot more… Also more Booker. And for the love of Luke Getsy less screens.
A quarterback is as good as his offensive line If the offensive line isn't blocking the quarterback It's gonna be Leary It will have to hurry his throws especially a rookie
The design for run plays is total crap. Waldron was let go for a reason. Flus is the problem. I’ve been saying that for over 2 years. Waldron is just as bad as Getsy. Geno Smith is still playing great with a new OC. Common denominator? Flus. Nice guy. He was never even a top 10 defensive coordinator. Even worse head coach…
New OC, new offensive scheme, rookie QB, multiple new players on offense and we demand to be 3-0 900 yards passing, 300 yards on the ground and 15 tds to zero picks. Some of our fans are more delusional than a 1970s nfl lineman with cte.
Adam. Dont worry about wins right now. Here are the reasons: 1. We are not done rebuilding. We have 1 more year 2. Our #1 goal is to develop a franchise QB. How many times do we have to hear our QB is a bust? This is all we talked about off season. Then we got a rookie QB who threw more yards in his 3rd game than fields ever did in 3 years. 3. Caleb is getting better each game. He is coming along a lot faster than almost any rookie QB. CJ Stroud just told everyone last week, that it took him 3-4 games before he got going. 4. Caleb needs to avg 236 yards a game to break 4,000 yards. Even with 2 bad games, he is avg 210 right now. If he throws 300 yards next week, he will be on pace to break 4,000 yards
Very optimistic. Though, I feel we are rebuilding the wrong way. We should have attacked the OL more in the draft, and we should be continuing to add to the OL every draft. Look at Green Bay; they are an OL factory. They have a backup QB tearing it up out there BECAUSE they have a good OL program. Jordan Love's raggedy ass stays clean all day...
We had a franchise QB and gave it to Pittsburgh. We could have finished the rebuild in this past draft, trading the #1 pick for more to shore up our O-Line and get another offensive weapon. We already had Roschon, who should be the feature back. Just needed a couple pieces on the OLine. Could have gotten a tackle in the first round and a center like Zach Frazier in the second round. Fields is taking snaps from Frazier in Pittsburgh and both are playing extremely well and winning.
Adam I have been following you from the beginning and I love your thought process, but yes 50% of the problem is the O-line, 25% the coaches and 25% Caleb’s fault and that’s just from week 3. Week 2 was 1,000% the coaches fault.. the play calls were awful…. And I will finally finish by saying Caleb Willams is the JV version of Justin Fields. Wish we kept Fields but this is what we got and by no means should we have only 2 passing TD’s in 3 games.. the coaches gotta figure something out because this team has too much talent to be this bad. I feel bad for our Defense… bear down 🐻
Everyone laughed at "JV version of Justin Fields" Crazy how that comes to fruition when people see it play out. Caleb's ceiling is higher, but I wasn't crazy on what I said
@@Beardownsports 100% I was with you when you said that and I’m pretty sure most of Bear fans thought the same thing too except for the people that believed the dumb media, could’ve had the Haul in the draft. But we went with the typical hype of a first round QB draft pick. That being said we need Kiran Amegadjie out there doing what he does best. We need O-line help bad, and our OC has got to adjust with the strengths we have on offense because our defense has been playing their ass off to keep us in every game… I think we can do it but if we can’t establish the run game I’m not sure what the out come will be week to week.
Well... he had 52 attempts. He's now 4 of 25 over 15yds. At least we know he's a man of his word. Last week he promised the 2 ints wouldn't happen again and it didn't... it was 2 ints and a fumble. Kinda disappointed you're doing the whole "Fields isn't an actual quarterback" bit now just because Williams is struggling. That was an unnecessary insinuation and from the history of things you said I'm going to just chalk it up to high emotions after the loss.
The only thing I would point on an otherwise great take is the coaching staffs that you named all have been together for around 3 seasons. If we are seeing 4 runs from within the 5 from shotgun, I will shut up
It was hard last year watching Justin because you would always worry when he threw the ball that it might be an int. Now I have that with Caleb every time he throws you wonder if it’s going to be an Int.🤔🤔🤔

They need to shake up the coaching for OL and also start Roshon Johnson. And Caleb needs to look to run on 3rd and short instead of 40 yard bombs that he’s missed nearly every time.
4th best team in the NFC NORTH. 😮

51 drop back plays against The Worst Run defense in the NFL. Perfect set up to establish the run game. Coaching blew it!
That team was never gonna even have a winning record with the offense line neglected.
That's a step waaay back. All 4 guys get manhandled.

The narratives are brainwashing this fanbase.
It's really crazy to watch.
Everyone wants a scapegoat of players, but it's the coaches
The O line was 100x better than vs Houston. Play calling was too. But still a long ways to go.
I have to change my initial prediction of 6-11 to 5-12.
5 and 12? I will say 7 and 10

Be careful what you wish for. You got your 300 yd. passer and 52 passes will almost guarantee a loss. Do you know of a single QB that can't get over 300yds with 52 attempts?

All these things are for good experience.

I loved seeing the progress, both calebs passing the inclusion of coal comet And using roshawn johnson.
Once we sort the run game we’ll be 🔥🔥
In their 1st 3 games, Caleb has completed almost as many passes(70) as Grossman(38), Trubisky(24) & Fields(23) COMBINED
Give the 🏈to RJ. Defense is top notch. 🐾⬆ 🐻⬇
Can we have a new run game coordinator and RB coach?
Austin Eckler signing was big for JD! A powerful RB is underrated right now in ESPN eyes, but just ask Joe Burrow how much he misses Mixon?
This is why Poles should have kept Fields, for filling other positions like Center, DE and Tackle. I don't see it come together at all.
This is the same line we had last year... But better.
It's not a half ass O-line. Our running coordinators and line coaches have f'd up
Flus is in over his head....
You might be right that the players might be better but this coaching staff is awful starting with Flus not being a HC.

To answer your question: proof that Poles made a huge mistake allowing JF1 to leave. We could have had Rome AND a good O lineman.
Very frustrating, especially when we're clearly the more talented team
@@Beardownsports so true
We were supposed to have a run game to complement all these weapons we have in the passing game and to alleviate the need for Williams to win games. Just get the ball to playmakers and let them create is bait and switch 😂 we have no run game to speak of and Williams is on an island getting pressure from every position off the Oline.
With an offensive line and competent coaching, Bears are 3-0.
I agree that we did not need Swift. He is a pass-catching back. Roschon should be our guy for sure, but it's hard to run the ball with anyone when the line is this atrocious.
It's NFL Football. Life will be OK. I'm a fan of a team that hired an ESPN announcer as their head coach.
We could be 0-3. We could be 3-0. These early season games are still pre-season for developing teams. The coaches have to be better.
This oline (rank not players) had us to 7 wins (shouldve been 10 and playoffs if had competent oc) and one or two carries away from our qb having the record for most rushing yards in a season?? The design for run plays is total crap. Waldron was let go for a reason. Flus is the problem. I’ve been saying that for over 2 years.
This guy gets it 💪
I'm not seeing 10 wins this year.. Dam GB... Bear Down
If they cant get the run going, they are going to win 5 games. Its just the way football works. Or you are going to get your QB hurt.
It's not too early to fire C-Mo... Seriously
Will Waldron realize he needs to use Roschon on 1st and 2nd downs, Swift is only usefull on 3rd down.
There needs to be a mixup for sure.
Here are the reasons:
1. We are not done rebuilding. We have 1 more year
I feel bad for our Defense… bear down 🐻
Everyone laughed at "JV version of Justin Fields"
Crazy how that comes to fruition when people see it play out.

You know I've been there defending Fields, but Fields was never built to be a Pat Mahomes, 300 yards per game, 5,000 yards in the season QB. In the modern NFL you have to have it; you have to push it down the field.
